Where to eat the best ice cream in Milan?
I don’t think there is anyone who doesn’t feel my love for Milan, which I lived for a while and then visited many times as if it was my hometown.. Of course, there are many reasons that strengthen my opinion in a city where everyone gets bored in one day and I and those who think like me say they will live a lifetime.. You know; What connects you to a city is the beauty it offers.. One of the beauties of Milan that cannot be counted in my opinion is the magnificent ice cream shops that you become addicted to as soon as you eat it.. Already Italy equals ‘gelato’. We get ‘gelato’, which means ‘ice cream’ in Italian, in ‘gelateria’ and it is possible to see them very often on the streets.. I have listed my favorite stops in Milan for Italian ice cream, which used to replace my meals for a while, and for those who want to taste the best.. Bon appetit to those who will fall their way.
#Gelateria Odeon
When I first went to Milan as part of the Erasmus exchange program, I left my suitcases at home and took to the streets in a minute.. Of course, the first thing every new Milan tourist would do was visit the Duomo.. Again, we met with Odeon when my eyes were looking for an ice cream shop, as the first activity that every new Milan tourist will do in summer.. The place is just opposite the Duomo, when you turn your back to the cathedral, you see the Odeon.. Although it is in a very touristic spot, each ice cream tastes good.. Although the ball price is slightly higher than the ice cream shops in the street or away from the square, it is a must to try this place.. My favorite here is; Italian classic Straciatella and strawberries. For your good sake, I would never say no to the one with Baci chocolate.

#Cioccolatitaliani
My first eye is Odeon, this is my favourite.. More than half of the Instagram photos shared in Milan may be shared here; because their success in the show part of the business is an indisputable fact.. They also work very well for the typical Italian ice cream perception.. Cioccolatitaliani; White, milk and dark chocolate covered or filled cornets deserve the title of ‘The Most Artistic of Milan’ with the taste and presentation of their ice creams.. On the other hand, they have a motto of doing most of the things sold in the store in front of the customer, it’s free to watch.. In addition to ice cream, you can taste magnificent chocolate cakes and croissants with an Italian coffee here.. It has 9 branches in Italy, my favorite in Milan is right next to the Duomo and next door to Luini. I invite those who want to spend the day like a Milanese first to eat panzerotto from Luini and then to fall into an ice cream coma at Cioccolatitaliani.. My favourite; Summer Sunset with yogurt flavor, vanilla and strawberry flavors and of course Chocolate Temptation with Nutella.

#Grom
Another one of Milan’s most preferred ice cream shops is Grom. I first met Grom in one of my friend’s Erasmus photos in Turin.. Then, our common story started when I saw that a branch in Milan was next to the house of my best friend, Yıldız, during my Erasmus period.. I love Grom; Although it is a brand opened to the world, there is always something familiar in the taste of ice cream.. By the way, since they are a brand strongly against additives, they only offer ice creams of seasonal flavors.. That’s why the flavors and types of ice cream change every month, the flavors of the month are determined.. Of course, since I’m not an Italian, I won’t tell you ‘here’s traditional Italian ice cream o-la-la!’; but I can easily say that Grom is at a very high point among what I’ve eaten so far.. You definitely don’t feel like eating ice cream in a chain store, and I think this is what makes Grom Grom.
Classic Italian in Grom In addition to its ice cream, there are also fruity forzen bars called sorbet (legendary with lemon), granita and ghiacciola, which are more like ice cubes than sorbet.. My first trip to Milan was at the end of August and I couldn’t even breathe from the heat.. When I couldn’t eat because of the pressure of the air, I remember like it was yesterday that I took my breath in Grom’s sorbet and granita..

#Il Massimo del Gelato
Here’s the perfect Gelateria Milanese for you! Il Massimo del Gelato, one of the upscale ice cream parlors in town. You feel it as soon as you walk in, but our main event here is the aromas. Cinnamon and hot pepper chocolate is my favorite in our ice cream shop, which offers extremely high gastronomic flavors.. Get used to such mixes and feel free to experiment; Massimo’s recipes are so special. There are many options for chocolate.. You usually wait for a while before getting your ice cream; but they thought. Thanks to its numbered systems, the environment does not interfere much. We are waiting for those who want to skip the classics here!
Address: Via Lodovico Castelvetro, 18 Shortest: M2 Garibaldi + M5 Gerusalemme
#La Gelateria della Musica
La Gelateria della Musica must also be the city’s most conceptual ice cream parlor; because this place prepares its ice creams based on world famous songs and stars.. In addition to fruit, cookies and coffee varieties, you can also taste varieties such as butter toast flavored, salted pistachio and red velvet cakes here.. This is one of the most favorite ice cream shops of Milanese and I am sure you will not regret a little when you come.. Just be prepared to wait for long queues in front of you, if you want to reach the fun part of the job, my advice is; hang out with those around you like a Milanese and enjoy the music in the bistro.

#Gelateria Porta Romana
On my third trip to Milan, I was staying at a hotel in Porta Romana. Since I usually start walking around the Duomo, my return was on this road.. Once again, while on the way to the hotel, we came across Gelateria, and we couldn’t resist.. When I got very good results from a roadside ice cream parlor, I immediately looked around; Gelateria Porta Romana is one of the few Vegan ice cream shops in Milan.. They call their ice cream ‘Vegelato’ anyway.. A place that should definitely be on the list of vegetarians and vegans.. There are also varieties for those on a gluten-free and lactose-free diet.. Not too many varieties; but there is enough already. Especially their success in fondant chocolate cannot be ignored.. I think its ice cream is a little more liquid due to rice milk, other than that, you can’t understand that there is a difference in it.. Mmm!

#Amorino
Yes, here is the architectural Amorino of the rose-shaped ice cream that you always come across on Instagram. I have no words to say about the flavors that have achieved their purpose with organic and natural flavors without additives.. marvels. But that decor, that traditional approach, that rose motif does not exist at all.. Moreover, once in a while we collect some pieces of it from the ground as a limp.. Of course, I may be thinking about all this because I am a person who does not normally like roses.. I am not sure. Otherwise, the guys have positioned a very artisanal brand and of course their presentation is a part of it.. By the way, the first store of the brand, which is completely Italian, was opened in Paris.. Now it exists in many parts of the world; We are also looking forward to the one in Istanbul. I can say that the milky flavors of Amorino are more successful than the fruity varieties.. My favorites are Amarena with cream with cherries and Caffe Altura luz Supremo with coffee.

#Pretto
Pretto is one of Milan’s newest. I saw and tried it while walking in Porta Ticinese, which I love so much.. Pretto’s concept is also very similar to Grom’s.. This place was founded on the basis of completely organic flavors that do not use additives.. I think it would be more beneficial for the brand if the employees were a little more friendly and interested in talking about Pretto.. With a giant like Grom standing a few hundred meters ahead, I believe a new brand of similar line should do more Word of Mouth. All aside, it’s worth a try as the flavors are successful. Pretto has a section called ‘Gusti Gourmet’ as well as classic ice cream varieties such as hazelnut, milk, vanilla, strawberry, pistachio, chocolate, fondant and lemon.. Gusti Gourmet has flavors prepared by chefs such as caramel with saffron, mint with milk, lemon with liqueur.
