Desserts have an important place in Gaziantep cuisine at least as much as meals.. Baklava, whose history goes back to Central Asia, is the first taste that comes to mind when dessert is mentioned, not only in Gaziantep but also in Turkey.. Gaziantep baklava is one of the 7 geographically marked products registered by the European Union in our country.
Why is Gaziantep baklava so special? The combination of flour obtained from durum wheat of Harran Plain, early harvest pistachios, natural sugar obtained from sugar beet and quality raw materials of the region creates a magnificent taste.. The art of making baklava, which has been handed down from master to apprentice for hundreds of years, also makes Gaziantep baklava so special. It is not possible to answer the question
Where to eat the best baklava in Gaziantep? of course, there are baklava shops in almost every corner of the city.. There are thousands of positive and negative comments about each. When you eat baklava in a place, it is difficult to taste and compare all of them in a single trip, even though there are criticisms like “The baklava is better here than there”.
Gaziantep Baklava Prices

While sharing the shops where we ate baklava during our Gaziantep trip, I would like to underline that everyone’s taste is different.. Baklava, which seems delicious to me, may not suit your taste, the plain oil used may be heavy.

How to Eat Baklava
After listing Gaziantep baklava shops, I would like to make a short note about eating baklava.. Until now, I’ve always eaten baklava with a cutlery, but it turns out I was doing it wrong..
There is a way to eat baklava in Gaziantep.. First of all, the cutlery should never touch the baklava.. You take the baklava in your hand and turn it upside down, and you throw it into your mouth in a single move so that the bottom part, where the syrup and flavor are most intense, sticks to your palate.
While eating baklava, you should definitely hear the crackling sound brought by freshness.. This is also an important issue, if you do not hear this sound, it means that the baklava you ate is not fresh.. When you come to Gaziantep, try to eat your baklava this way too, enjoy your meal in advance..
