It must have been difficult to organize an organization in the first moments when daylight saving time was introduced.. I have experienced many examples in the past, I know from there. It is hard work to warn everyone participating in the organization one by one, and to say “don’t forget to set your clock forward”.. Especially if the participant list is crowded…
After moving my clock forward one hour; I left the house at 5 o’clock in the old time and 6 o’clock in the new summer time. The day hadn’t started yet in Bornova, where I stopped by to pick up Mustafa.. With the final preparations and the rush to get something for breakfast, we found 7. While the highway was trying to get used to the dynamism of a new day, our journey, which we hoped to last for 2 hours, started spontaneously with a snack.. After the first stop at the toll booths, listening to the music, watching the environment, lots of conversation and sleeping.. After passing the Selatin Tunnel, we reached Aydın.. The first half of the road thus ended. The most important and tiring part was just beginning.
Compared to the pleasant aspects of driving on the highway, the heavier part of the scale is always the less pleasant part when compared to the unpleasant aspects.. To proceed in a monotonous manner, with the foot on the gas pedal, without too much work on the steering wheel…. While we think about Muğla, which we will reach after passing Çine and Yatağan, we wonder if those in Denizli were able to set out.. On the one hand, I explain the structure and functioning of TEGV, as well as the Sevindik Learning Unit, to Mustafa, on the other hand, I try to contact Aylin.. When Aylin picks up her phone, there is a serious shout and music from behind.. Looks like the group is having a lot of fun. But there is a misfortune. The journey started with an hour delay because the driver forgot to set his watch forward… Fortunately, there is nothing worse.. Showing paranoid attitudes at such moments, since I checked all my preparations at least 5 times, we are at the planned place at the planned time without any problems.
There are road widening works along the way.. The air is as clear as possible, but there is still something frightening about it.. I wonder if it will rain?
After passing through Aydın’s Çine district, we come to the winding and winding part.. This is the part of the road where we slowed down the most and we have to pass carefully.. After this part, we come to Yatağan, which is famous for its thermal power plant, the first district of Muğla to welcome us.. When the most important shortcoming of the fountain with a sign is a “fountain”, we continue on our way without drinking water, naturally…
After opening our windows a little more to feel the smell of pine, we enter Muğla. Without wandering into the city, we continue persistently towards Akyaka, which is our last station, by turning directly from the ring road in the direction of Marmaris.. The district of Ula is almost like a good news that we are getting closer to the goal…
The part where we are blocked, slowed down or have difficulty due to the emptiness of the roads and not being too busy almost never happens.. However, after the Çine ramps, the second ramped part of the journey makes us very happy, rather than forcing it with its scenery and weather.. Yes, we are on the Sakar ramp. We take the car to the shore and dive into the scenery.. Camera in hand, Gökova Bay on the one hand and Akyaka and its surroundings on the other hand are under our feet… While this magnificent view makes us fall in love with itself once again, we get back in the car for the remaining 10 minutes.
Photo our machine doesn’t shut up either. While Mustafa is shooting all the time, I’m struggling with the Sakar ramp.. We continue our struggle to go down to the sea level in slower motion since Akyaka’s return.. Not without taking a photo in front of the Akyaka town sign.. We immediately get out of the car and go to the sign.. First I withdraw, then Mustafa…
We came to Akyaka on a summer day, and the summer crowd does not seem repulsive.. With the confusion of people and the tourists running around, this heavenly place cannot be enjoyed anyway.. Therefore, spring is always the best time to come to such places!
After parking the car one step away from the beach, we start reading the newspaper we just bought.. Friends coming from Denizli still have an hour’s journey.. After reading the newspaper and digesting it, we are visiting Akyaka with a small beach tour.. The purpose is to pass the time…
My phone is ringing. Caller Aylin!
She says we will meet in five minutes. We start to wait. Not long after, the bus with the plate number “20” arrives in the parking lot.. Volunteers of TEGV Sevindik Learning Unit get off the bus one by one.. We are in Akyaka at the end of March with everyone I met at the end of February…. By the way, Aylin and I are going to negotiate a boat tour.. Although Aylin’s chin does not convince the men at first glance, the boat tour works out with a few concessions.. Everyone is trying to take a picture in a corner. We follow the fashion and take out the machine.. Aylin tells us the information she got from the photography club the day before, and immediately after she takes the camera, she starts taking the photos…
We climb the lifeguard tower we saw while walking through the beach.. While Numan, Aylin, Coşkun and Ben are giving everyone smiles, everyone is taking our photos.. Not without attracting those who attract us; this time we have the machine, we are watching the people watching us. Next to the tower, we see those who come to celebrate family happiness.. After viewing the little one in the frame of all of us, we are moving towards the forest with the Dalmatian dog.. Aylin and Dalmatian prefer to walk together. We must have walked quickly towards the forest, so we can’t see anyone when we look behind us.
After a while, the phone rings, a tea break for those who are hungry and want to rest a little.. We place our orders at the seaside with a little sun and a little wind.. When the team is crowded, the orders do not come at the same time. While some eat their toast and sip their tea, some are starving.. The best way to pass the time is to take pictures as we always do… Everyone has a camera in their hands, we look here and there… boat tour we arranged on time. We settle in groups on the boats that will take us on the Azmak Stream.. There are 20 people on two boats and the rest of us on one boat.
Our captain is very talkative.. After warning everyone not to move or move, he begins to explain himself: “Young people, I am the chief of police in Muğla Municipality.. I’m running away from work and coming here. A passion that is indispensable. To this water, to the sea; I’m sick of everything here. Last year, I appeared on 12 national channels, I even sang a song. Everyone knows me.”
We didn’t know whether it was luck or misfortune to live closest to the captain, but Azmak Stream is truly a wonder of nature.. The spring coming from the foot of the mountain emerges from the shore of the stream and forms the stream and then pours into the Gulf of Gökova.. Ducks and turtles roam in the stream, which is surrounded by reeds on one side and hostels and restaurants on the other.. There is a green paradise in the water where we can see almost every shade of turquoise and blue.. fish roam free. Hunting is strictly prohibited. It was impossible to stay in the water for more than half a minute.. The minerals in the cold water are so good for the skin and health that everyone who comes to them fills the cups with water and washes.. Although the word Azmak does not sound very pleasant, it means the place where water is born.. The Azmak Stream, which is formed by several springs called by different names such as the Kadın Stream, Akçapınar Stream and Gökçe Stream, has been declared a Natural Conservation Area.. It is forbidden to even broadcast music on boats.. However, the insensitivity and disrespect of mankind has shown itself here as well as everywhere.
While the area around the stream is faced with the threat of construction, everywhere is adorned with domestic waste.. Although recycling projects have been prepared with the efforts of Akyaka Municipality, it is possible to come across empty beer bottles in the sea and in the tea. we are looking. We watch the ducks from Akyaka aunt, who throws bread to the ducks.. As always, happiness and joy can be seen in everyone’s eyes as we try to immortalize every moment with our cameras.. When light tiredness and hunger begin, free time is declared and time is given for everyone to travel comfortably and fill their stomachs.. Together with a group of about 15 people, we first look at the stalls selling trinkets on the beach and then head towards the place where fish bread is made.. When a few people who come prepared with umbrellas insistently start talking about when it will rain, it starts to rain as if it is pouring out of the glass.. Right after the storm… By the way, we are negotiating umbrellas with Ebru and Elçin.
When Ebru disabled me by pointing to Mustafa, who gave him his coat when it was cold, and saying, “I only share my umbrella with Mustafa,” I became Elçin. I’m trying to persuade you about an umbrella. Fortunately, at the end of the persuasion efforts, there is no rain, so there is no need for an umbrella…
After we eat our combination meals such as fish bread, meatballs and chicken skewers, we get up from the table.. Next, we have an organization to celebrate the birthdays of those born in March.. After getting the cake prepared in Denizli, enough for 50 people, from the bus, we go to the boats we join in the morning.. Our goal is to cut the cake and handle the service as soon as possible.. On the one hand, it is clear that this will not happen, while the owners of the boat look into our eyes as if to say “even if they cut the cake as soon as possible”.. While the crowd of the group slows down the pace of our work, a rushed cake cutting ceremony can spoil our taste.. We’re leaving the boats as we take the cake again. (We are on different boats as these boats can accommodate a maximum of 20 people.)
We enter the unclaimed boat that we have seen in the morning, but that can take 50 of us at once, as if it were ours.. If anyone comes to us and says “what are you doing”, we will not be able to say anything.. Together with Gülçin Abla, Mustafa, Me and two friends, we go to the kitchen part of the boat and start the preparations.. Other friends line up on the boat in two rows.. The cake is in our hands, the birthdays are in front of the cake, and one of the candles that we could not light is blown out to represent them, and their birthdays are celebrated at that moment with great screams.. After we finished the service quickly, everyone happily eats their share of the cake.. The cake ceremony is actually an indication that we are slowly coming to the end of the day.. There are minutes left to the Galatasaray-Fenerbahce match, I’m talking about that.. While thinking about where to watch the match, we think that it would be nice to go to Muğla and watch it in a place.. With the approval of the majority, the bus is in front of us, we say goodbye to Akyaka with our car in the back.. Our destination is Muğla!
When we come to Muğla center, those who want to watch the match and those who do not want to watch the match leave.. We are going to a cafe in Cumhuriyet Square with the group that wants to watch.. Together with Aylin, Coşkun, Mustafa, Önder, Ben, Ebru, Seda and a few friends whose names I can’t remember, we start to watch the match where we will have a nervous breakdown.. As a Galatasaray fan, the match we are trying to watch with the bombardment of swear words on the one hand and the meaningless match comments on the other hand, crushes me.. Despite this bad game, we consider the match right as a draw, and we lose 1-0 with a very coincidental goal.. At the end of the match, staying among the events of the Muğla fanatics ready to explode at any moment remains a separate memory in mind.. We say goodbye to the team among the ardent supporters that the police are trying to appease.. Time to return to Izmir. While me and Mustafa are pedaling back to Izmir, the Denizli team is moving towards the roads of Denizli.
The planned meeting we came together after a forced meeting shows us how good friendships and memories can be made when meeting a compulsory situation. … Good luck to you…
