Welcome to my
Tabriz travel guide. It has been 5 months since my forced return from Iran and I was finally able to start writing.. Our Iran tour, which we set out on a whim and will complete by visiting 6 cities from north to south, is 4. As soon as we landed in Isfahan, which will be our city, it ended with a broken foot.. People get off at the bus station and take a taxi, I took the ambulance..
As a result of stepping on the mud and slipping and falling, I broke both of my bones slightly above my right ankle.. The doctor there said you have to have an operation.. We preferred to return to our country and have surgery in our own hospital.. There they put my leg in a temporary cast and hospitalized it for 3 days.. I became the popular patient of the hospital. No one spoke English except our doctor and we tried to communicate with the nurses in sign language..
We met very good people in these 3 days. We were going to do a desert tour with Tap Persia on the day I broke my foot.. When we informed that we were in the hospital that we could not overcome, the owners of the company, Rasool and Hadi, did not spare their interest and help until we got on the plane.. Every day they came to visit us with flowers. In the same way, the owners of the hotel where we will stay, Nargis and his wife became family to us.. We met great people and made great friends.. We returned to our country with both good memories, broken feet and a bad experience.
Iran is a wonderful country with its historical and natural beauties, culture and cuisine.. I strongly suggest you go.. If you decide to go, Tabriz Travel Guide is here for all the information you will need.

Pill Information About Tabriz
Tabriz History
Let’s take a look at Tabriz history to get to know the city better. Tabriz has a long history.. Its foundation dates back to 5,000 years ago.. Many state administrations, mostly Turks, were established in Tabriz.. Karakoyunlu, Akkoyunlu, Safavid, Afshar, Tabriz Khanate, Pahlavi Dynasty, Azerbaijan National Government, Pahlavi Dynasty and then the Islamic Republic of Iran from 1979 to the present ruled in Tabriz.
Tabriz is on the historical spice route. Since it is an established city, it has become the center of civilizations and culture.. The mother tongue in Iran is Persian, but since Tabriz is the city of East Azerbaijan, the majority speaks Turkish.. Of course, this Turkish is in a different accent than we speak, but it is easily understood.. In other words, you will feel very comfortable in terms of communication in Tabriz.
Iran has an old tradition that you can encounter today.. According to this custom called taaroof, when a customer shopping in a shop or market hands the money to the shopkeeper, he receives the answer “stay, be our guest”.. This is a courtesy gesture in everyday life.. It is necessary not to perceive it as real and not give the money.. So we understand they are not raining but they are roaring.
Where is Tabriz?
The Republic of Azerbaijan is the northern region of Azerbaijan. The Azeri region in Iran is known as Southern Azerbaijan.. Southern Azerbaijan is divided into Eastern and Western provinces.. Tabriz becomes the capital of the East Azerbaijan province in Iran.

How to go to Tabriz?
How to get to Tabriz I think the title must be one of the most curious and researched subjects in Tabriz Travel Guide.. Although it is possible to go to Tabriz by plane from our country, ticket prices can be high.. As a result, going by land is an attractive option.. You can get from Van to Tabriz in several ways.
1. Van-Tabriz Train
*The first option is to go by train. We did not choose this way as it is long in duration.. If you want to review this link you can check the train times and prices.
2. Van-Tabriz Bus
*The second option is to take the minibuses that will go directly to Tabriz by getting on from the center of Van. There are not many companies that provide this transportation.. If you write a comment or send an e-mail, I would love to share your contact information with you.
3. Border Taking a minibus from its door
*The third option, which we also applied, is as follows: We are going to the city center with the city bus number 351 from Van Airport.. When you get off the bus at the Ezberciler stop, a gentleman is waiting there and directs you to the minibus that goes to the Kapıköy (Razi) border gate.. Minibus fee is 25 TL. You walk through the border gate and after passport control, you pass to the Iranian side.
There are minibuses that go to Tabriz city centre.. You can also use them to reach the city center.. Since Iranians are very helpful people, a woman we met on our way to the border said that her father would come to meet her and that they could take us to the center, and we happily accepted.. Feel free to socialize. There will probably be those who offer you to come to our house and be our guest..
How many days to visit Tabriz?
Our arrival in Tabriz city center It was late afternoon and we had a bus ticket to Tehran at 00.00 the next night.. In a day and a half, we saw the places to visit in Tabriz quite comfortably, with a few fires.
If you are going to visit the Kandovan Village outside Tabriz, you will tour Tabriz from start to finish in 2 or 3 days. .
Tabriz City Transportation
We have plenty of we are a couple who love to walk. However, if the distance between our destinations is too long, of course we need a vehicle.. We prefer to use Uber instead of taxi.
There is no Uber application in Iran. Instead there is a native app Snaap. Snaap, which is more affordable than taxis and you can pay with a credit card through the application, makes your job much easier in Iran.. Be sure to read this ymoment for the answer to the questions of how do I download the Snapap application, how do I use it.
Where to Stay in Tabriz?
Iranian people are so hospitable that when you take a taxi or ask someone for the address, they immediately take you to their homes as soon as they realize that you are a tourist. they invite. They say come be our guest, eat our food. Since we knew this before we went, we thought why not do our first couchsurfing experience in Tabriz.
We met Mahdi via the app.. He said that they would be happy to host us in his house where he lived with his family.. We stayed 1 night in their house. We had dinner together. We have memorized our first experience very well.
What to Eat in Tabriz ?
When you think of Iran, one of the first things that comes to mind is saffron.. Iranians love to use this spice in their dishes.. The most prominent answer to the question what to eat in Tabriz is saffron pilaf.
Apart from the fact that they use spices, their pilaf is different from ours.. They don’t cook it by frying like we do, they make it by boiling it.. Kebab, on the other hand, is a flavor that is often preferred as a main dish.. Reminiscent of our kebabs. You can see Adana kebab and chicken skewers almost everywhere.
Although saffron rice is not for me, I like the taste of saffron soup.. Kebabs are also delicious.. If you are wondering where to eat in Tabriz, my suggestion is Shazdeh Restaurant. This place is located inside Tabriz Bazaar. The atmosphere of the place, the music playing, the food we ate left a mark on us.. Owners are very sweet people.. Say hi if you go.
