Sri Lanka Before going into the details of the excursion route, you can take a look at my article on How to Get to Sri Lanka & How to Travel Sri Lanka, and you can find detailed information about renting a driver and guide in Sri Lanka.
I tried to prepare the suggestions by consulting the driver I used in Sri Lanka, where everyone who had a Sri Lanka tour with him had communicated to many people before and was satisfied.. Of course, since your route will change depending on the number of days, the season you go to and your preferences, after booking your hotels with a free cancellation option as you think will be suitable for you, contact me via e-mail at [email protected] or from my Instagram or Facebook page, the links of which I have provided at the end of the article. & I’ll give you the contact of my tourist guide. I wrote only a few places with very high prices in hotel recommendations. you can choose. However, hotels with very low prices can cause unpleasantness, especially in terms of flies and insects, you need to be careful.. In other words, if the hotel with the lowest price has the highest score, then we should not think that it is the best, it is the best hotel in its category and within the expectations of the people who go there, compared to the money they pay.. Even if you don’t like what I wrote, be sure to choose hotels with high ratings from the booking.com list by reading their comments and examining their pictures.
Then let’s get started
Day One:
You have landed at Colombo Airport (CMB) and the driver will pick you up from the airport took. You will tour and finish Colombo in less than a day. Stay in Colombo for the first night, or if your trip is between November and April and you want to have a sea-sun holiday, if you have time to visit Colombo during the day because your plane lands early, you can pass from Colombo to Negombo and stay in Negombo.
Colombo hotels: 55TG’s Boutique Suites (4 stars), Silvikris Villa (3 stars)
Negombo hotels: Blue Water Boutique Hotel (3 stars), Guesthouse Serendib Village (2 stars), Hotel Shanelo (2 stars), Sugar Villa (Guesthouse)
Day Two :
Relax in the morning in Negombo for the period from November to April. Then visit the cultural sites Anuradhapura and Mihintale and stay in Mihintale.
Mihintale hotels: Eco Hotel Black & White – Anuradhapura (4 stars), Miheen Hotel & Resort (2 stars)
For the period from May to October, skip Negombo and stay in Trincomalee, traveling from Colombo to Anuradhapura and Mihintale. Trincomalee again for the sea – the sun; if you came to Sri Lanka for a cultural holiday, leave the time to go here and travel to Sigiriya and stay there; but for where to swim in Sri Lanka, other options are bad between May and October, so if you are going in this season and you think you will definitely go swimming, head to Trincomalee.
Trincomalee hotels: Amaranthe Bay Resort & Spa (5 stars), Dyke Rest (3 stars), Uppuveli Beach House (Guesthouse)
Third Day:
Sigiriya’ hold hotel from. If you are coming from Mihintale or Trincomalee, you can keep it for one night, if you skipped these two, you can keep it for two nights.
Sigiriya hotels: Heritance Kandalama (5 stars), Hotel Sigiriya (4 stars) , Cassandra Culture Resort (3 stars), Sigiri Heritance Villa (2 stars), Sigiri Rock Side Home Stay (1 star), Sigiri Saman Home Stay (Guesthouse)
Days Fourth and Fifth:
Stay two nights in Kandy, visiting the surrounding places like Dambulla, Habarana. If you could not go to Anuradhapura for any reason, you should plan Polonnaruwa during the day while you are in this area.. Skip Polonnaruwa if you’ve already been to Anuradhapura. You can also skip the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage if you’ve already done the Elephant Safari.
Kandy hotels: Cinnamon Citadel Kandy (5 stars), Sky Pavilion (4 stars), Kandyan View Villa (3 stars), Meili Lanka City Hotel (2 stars), Lady Gordons Homestay (Guesthouse)
Sixth Day:
If you are going especially during the period from December to May and you like hiking & climbing (hiking & trekking), you can stay at Adem’s Peak hotels for one night.. For other periods or those with shorter time, I think this place can be skipped, but if it interests you, you can decide accordingly.
Adem’s Peak hotels: Singhbrothers (Guesthouse), Hugging Clouds ( Guesthouse)
Seventh Day:
Nuwara Eliya and Ella You should visit. The hotel can be in any of them, in case you are late in your schedule, you may have to skip Ella, so I think it should be in Nuwara Eliya.. I think the places where tea farming is done in Nuwara Eliya should definitely be visited, so you can see how the famous Sri Lankan tea (Ceylon or Ceylon tea) is grown and drink it in your own homeland.. But some like Ella more because of her natural beauties.. In fact, if you are going to buy a ticket for the train journey, which has become famous due to the beauty of the roads in Ella, you should book your place three months in advance, especially during the high period between November and April.
Nuwara Eliya hotels: Villa Tea Fields (3 stars), The Hill Town Cottage (1 star), Mount Mary Inn (Guesthouse)
Ella hotels: The Chillout Ella (Guesthouse), Ella Mountain Palace (Guesthouse)
Day Eight:
Tour Udawalawa, Kataragama and Yala and stay in Yala. If you don’t have time, skip this day.
Yala hotels: Jetwing Yala (5 stars), Yala Dream Park (Guesthouse)
Ninth Day:
If you are going between April and October, stay in Galle (pronounced Gol), then You can return from Colombo one day.
Galle hotels: Tropical Retreat (3 stars), Small House Boutique Guest House (Guesthouse)
If you’re going between November and March, Sri Lanka’s southern beaches are good times, spend some time there You can have a good time, you are already tired of wandering The best known alternatives among Sri Lankan beaches are Unawatuna, Mirissa and Bentota. Instead of trying them all, you can choose one and stay for one or ideally two nights.. Then back from Colombo.
Unawatuna hotels: Sayura Beach Hotel (4 stars), Milton Beach Hotel (3 stars)
Mirissa hotels: Sri Sharavi Beach Villas & Spa (5 stars), Serenity Resort (3 stars)
Bentota hotels: Paradise Road The Villa Bentota (5 stars), Sapara River Guest (Guesthouse)
A 9 – 11 day Sri Lanka route can be planned more or less like this, as I said, the driver will arrange the places to visit in accordance with your route.. If you have longer time, the time spent at the beaches can be increased, or you can even go to non-seasonal beaches by keeping a hotel with a pool, just in case.. For example, in September, I stayed in Bentota for a day off, even though it was not the season, water sports such as jet skiing can be done and there are other places to visit around the beaches.
Let’s summarize the options I mentioned above, and try to come up with alternative plans for those who do not want to move that much or have less time, even if they miss something.
