Time to leave Singapore without doing much new stuff other than a short tour of the city. You know, 3 days is enough with a tight trip, but these days, I’m far away from tight and rushed trips.. I also have the ability to do accelerated travel, but my preference is to travel slowly in a relaxed state.
As such, you feel as if you are visiting a city rather than Singapore.. What do you call Singapore? It’s a city-state, but I’m leaving this country without seeing what I need to see, without doing what I need to do. It’s not a complaint, it’s just the result.
I guess leaving a country can be this easy and enjoyable.. We hop on a bus from the bus stop near the hostel and then hop on the bus to Singapore Changi Airport.. If I’m not mistaken I paid S$1.2 for the ticket price. You leave the bus fare in the box opposite the door.. You must have change with you as change is not given.. Half an hour later we were in front of our airport terminal.. How nice, public bus transportation from the city to the airport terminal gate. comfortable and cheap. When I did the same thing in Melbourne, I paid AU$ 16.
One of the busiest airports in Asia, with 1 plane landing every 2 minutes, Changai International Airport is worth a visit in itself.. Many options are offered to you as resting, sightseeing, entertainment and business activities.. A playground for children, Aviation gallery, seats with integrated sound system if you want to listen to music, Lan games where you can connect and play your Xbox and PS3 game console or laptop, a place to watch MTV music channel on a 50” LCD screen, a cinema hall equipped with comfortable seats and advanced technology, traditional Singapore a course in obtaining patterns by rubbing wooden boards with art…. Singapore’s longest 12-metre high slide is also located in terminal 3.. You slide down at a speed of 6 meters per second!
There are more than 550 kiosks at the airport where you can access the internet free of charge.. Again, you can find free wifi and electricity connection points with your laptop.. There are also Business Centers for professionals.. You can benefit from services ranging from stock market follow-up to photocopying and faxing.
Imagine, there is even a meditation room.. Quiet and calm, peaceful place despite being busy. carpeted all over. There is metro transportation between the terminals, you can also reach the airport from the city by metro.. What’s more!
With AirAsia, you can reach the 2nd flight of Sarawak State of Borneo Island from Singapore.. Fly to the big city Miri S$130 (187 TL). We were in Miri at 14:20 with a two-hour flight.. I tried to arrange accommodation in Mulu National Park from the information desk at the airport, but the dorm room was full.. The girl on duty gave us the home of an acquaintance from outside the park and we made our reservation.. We also received extensive information about what to do in the national park and where to visit.. When we saw Starbucks’ free and fast internet, we were stuck at the airport.. It was already dark when we took a taxi to the city center by paying RM20 from the taxi ticket booth at the airport.
The dark blue color of the sky is fascinating.. RM20 costs 12 TL and costs 6 TL per person when 2 people travel. One advantage of traveling with a companion, keep in mind. We settled into the dorm room of The Highlands Backpackers, the only backpackers-style hostel in the city, which we learned that the owner is a pilot from New Zealand, for RM25 per person per night, including breakfast, and there is also free wi-fi.. A large living room and air-conditioned dorm room are clean and well-maintained, but the Chinese female employee in her 50s, who acts strangely with a strange accent despite living in England for 7 years, is really strange.. He wasn’t rude, but he wasn’t friendly either.. I always say that the Chinese are strange people. I don’t like to discriminate and generalize, but I can’t help making this comment.. I wanted to start my trip on Borneo Island, its largest island, from Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak State, but Miri did not have much time for her companion Farid. We had to start from >. With a population of more than 300,000, Miri is the heart of the Malaysian oil industry.. With the discovery of oil in 1910, the city started to grow, today it is a city of education and trade.
It is home to many ethnic groups such as Chinese, Malay, Iban, Bidayuh, Melanau, Kelabit, Lun Bawang and many others.. It also has many international students.. The main language spoken is Bahasa Sarawak, which is very close to Bahasa Malay.. Mandarin Chinese is also spoken, as many Chinese Malaysians live in the city. Almost everyone can speak English.
The Günung Mulu National Park, which we are planning to visit, is half an hour’s flight from Miri city.. There are coral reefs in the sea near the city, and Niah Cave, one of Asia’s first prehistoric settlements, is also close to Miri.. The murals in this cave date back more than 40,000 years.. I was originally planning to go to this cave, but changed my mind as I could see the largest caves in the world in Mulu National Park and there are also many impressive caves there. we will fly to. A limited number of visitors can go to the activities in the park. We were told that accommodation options are also limited.. We have not yet planned how long we will spend there.. We will act according to the developments.
It is exciting for me to be in Borneo. Like Tasmania for me, Borneo is the island of my dreams.. There’s also Madagascar, it has a great place in my heart.. I love these 3 islands without seeing, I’m in love without seeing. I’m sure every trip to these routes will reveal why.. I’m happy to be here.
