A museum where you can finish the works in 2 hours to 2 days, depending on your speed and interest rate.. Maybe 2 days is an exaggeration, but if you try to examine all the works one by one, you can spend 1 day.. Until I went to the Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt’s works were cold cheesy paintings that evoked gloom and darkness for me. When I saw them closely, I realized that they were masterpieces.. It is impossible to describe the use of light and shadow, the liveliness in the eyes, the realism of the paintings.. The portraits look so alive that I couldn’t help but think that this must have been the 3D technology of that period.. Of course, not only Rembrant’s paintings are found in the Rijksmuseum, there are also works of painters counted as Dutch Masters, sculptures, tiles and the world’s first doll house.. Doll’s house, Avercamp’s Winter painting, Rembrandt’s Night Watch were my favorites.. If you carefully examine the people in Avercamp’s painting Winter, when you see details such as a man peeing in a tree, a couple hugging each other on the roof, you realize how witty the artist is.. There is so much to tell about the Rijksmuseum that I don’t know what to tell in what order.. You better see for yourself. Avercamp – Winter Before we go, I planned in my head that we would stay for half an hour and look at the paintings after researching on the internet.. In fact, it was a place I thought maybe we wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t close to the Heineken and Van Gogh museums. Result: I was grabbed by the arm and forced out by the dice with the sounds of let’s Heineken shut down. I think we just had 15-20 minutes in front of Rembrant’s Night Watch painting. Seeing the development of art in Europe during the times when we regarded sculpture as an idol evokes a different and complex feeling of lamentation. What I like most about Amsterdam is that people go to museums and even libraries with their children.. An awesome thing. I hope we can soon learn not to pamper our children as much as we do now =)
