On the third day of our Paris tour, we will see Montmartre, the Sacre-Coeur Basilica, the Painters’ Hill and the Moulin Rouge, and go to the iconic Pere Lachaise Cemetery. Make sure to drop your way here for different parts of the city that will show a completely different face.. If you have more time in Paris and do not have any restrictions on creating a schedule, you can include the Palace of Versailles in the list.. Before the introduction goes too long, I touch on our route. Come on, 3 in Paris. we go to the present.
#Montmartre:
Art, exhibition Speaking of which, let’s go to Montmartre, one of the regions where this spirit is felt the most.. This place draws attention with its location overlooking Paris as the city’s highest altitude settlement; however, one of the characteristic features that make Montmartre the Montmartre of today is definitely its connection with art.. When one comes here, he sees himself as a painter and came to his studio to work.. The reason must be the large number of workshops and galleries in the region.. The fact that it hosts one of the city’s most magnificent basilicas, the Sacré-Cœur, the Painters’ Hill offers colorful artist views, the various art galleries around it, its white streets and houses, and its iconic cafes and venues are of course also influential. It should be noted that Montmartre is the center of Paris street art.
#Sacré-Cœur Basilica:
The most visited place in Paris after Notre Dame Cathedral Sacré-Cœur welcomes you with its white architecture on Montmartre hill. Combining the basilica with a panoramic view of the city, the architecture of Sacré-Cœur was completed in white travertine stone in Roman and Byzantine styles.. It is quite young compared to other religious buildings in the city, as its opening dates back to the early 1900s.. To get to the basilica, after getting off the Antwerp stop, you can use the steep stairs to the top.. For easier solutions, the funicular departs next to the same stairs; but the front is always crowded and you will have to wait a bit. You can take the funicular with 1 metro ticket, the entrance to the basilica is free, like Notre Dame Cathedral; but you pay a figure of 5 Euros to go up to its dome.. After your tour, you can take a short break against the city view in the square right in front of the building.. Then head straight for Painters’ Hill!
#Painters Hill:
Like Paris but not. A mini square in the middle of Montmartre; surrounded by restaurants and cafes, with painters and cartoonists. This is one of the places that make me smile the most in the city; The second place in the district you should come after the basilica.. It is also possible to see the traces of this situation in the neighborhood where artists such as Picasso, Dali, Van Gogh and Monet worked.. You will see Espace Dali at the corner of the road that winds down the square past the square.. Espace Dali; a gallery displaying the artist’s sculptures, engravings and sketches. In this environment, taking a surrealist break can be good for anyone! Detailed information about the gallery, which is the only venue in the city to host the permanent Dali exhibition, is here.. Admission 11.50 Euros.
Speaking of the cafes overlooking the square, sitting in one of them for fun and eating chocolate pancakes can be a touristic act, of course, but still, I think you should not miss these colorful images.. If you want, you can take the mini paintings in the square and make your own cartoons.. In my opinion, the most logical thing is to collect sweet, small souvenirs and magnets from the mini boutiques in the surrounding streets of Place du Tertre, which is called Painters’ Hill in Turkish.
#Moulin Rouge:
We will complete the Montmartre tour and return to the funicular area and pass to the Pigalle area. What we will do here is to carry out that task, which is based on pleasing our acquaintances from the economic souvenir shops lined up right and left on the street just across the funicular, then follow Rue Lepic to take a break at Café des 2 Moulins, where the movie Amelie was filmed, and then Moulin Rouge. There is one more touristic activity to do just by walking.
The Pigalle district encompasses a city layout that is far more contrary to the Paris we have seen so far.. In fact, what the Redlight District is to Amsterdam, this is to Paris.. It even has streets lined with only ‘sex shops’. You don’t understand much in the daytime, but if you try to come to the area in the evening it will become clearer.. All the dirty work of the city is going on here, watch yourself!
When it comes to Moulin Rouge, you can watch the show by making a reservation in advance, with the prices set as 95 Euros without alcohol and 105 Euros with drinks.. Opened towards the end of the 1800s, the cabaret welcomes its guests all year round with a program including adult erotic shows and cankan dances. You probably remember it from the famous movie Moulin Rouge starring Nicole Kidman.. Go to the show or not, but there’s no going home without taking a picture with the iconic red mill figure outside the venue! You can take a look at this link to make a reservation.. Other famous cabarets you can consider as an alternative to the Moulin Rouge include the Lido and Crazy Horse on the Champs-Élysées.. Their prices are also very close.
#Pere Lachaise Cemetery:
I don’t know if you’ve ever visited the cemetery in other cities, but if you come to Paris and Pere Lachaise Can’t go back without seeing . This place is like a huge open-air museum, home to very famous names we know from history and the best examples of its unique cemeteries.. Cemetery like a park wants to continue as long as one wanders. There are so many examples, monuments, statues and sarcophagi that you want to meet with all the important names on the map given to you at the entrance.. The aim is to travel to the past, to come together for once with the eyes of the world, with the artists whose books and lives you have read for years, and whose songs you sometimes listen to accompany your most special moments.. It was October when I visited Pere Lachaise, trees turning yellow in every corner, lots of leaves on the ground.. I don’t know how many times you can taste the feeling of walking in such an environment; So while you’re here, don’t come back without leaving one of your beautiful flowers by giving a salute to special names such as La Fontaine, Bellini, Moliere, Balzac, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Yılmaz Güney and Ahmet Kaya.. Don’t be shy about security, Pere Lachaise has nothing to do with cemeteries in Turkey.
#Palace of Versailles:
The size and French Baroque style Dazzling with its Palace of Versailles, it is one of the most magnificent touristic spots of Paris with its chateau architecture and gardens that know no bounds in luxury and splendor.. Aside from the magnificence of the building, it may take a whole day to wander inside and its huge gardens.. Therefore, if your time is limited, I suggest you leave the Palace of Versailles next time, so that it is not a rushed program.. The palace is located in the suburb of Versailles, 22 kilometers from the center; however, when it comes to Paris, you can easily reach here by metro and RER coded suburban trains.
The palace, which was originally thought as a hunting lodge, has taken its present form with different additions made over the years.. While Versailles is one of the largest palaces in Europe, it also draws attention as one of the most magnificent structures in France.. The interior of the palace knows no bounds in luxury, the decoration is so intense and shiny that it will tire you out after a while.. Among the most prominent parts of the palace are the Chapel, the Mirrored Gallery (Mirror Hall), and the large garden landscapes designed by André Le Nôtre, who realized many palace landscapes of the period.. To see the interior architecture and rooms of the palace, you need to buy a ticket separately, if you are only going to visit the gardens and you do not coincide with a special time or event day, you can wander around the gardens for free.. You can check the days of the shows here and organize your tour accordingly.. If you are going to visit a ticketed area, definitely buy your ticket online.. A total of 18 Euros per person to visit the palace, gardens (for musical shows, other days free of charge), galleries and temporary exhibitions, is 25 Euros if you buy the full package ticket, which includes the musical gardens and the musical fountain show.
Eiffel to the first day of Paris After starting at the Tower and touring the Trocadero Square, we first went to the Champs-Elysées and then to the Arc de Troimphe.. Here are the details of the tour we took from the Louvre and Les Arts Decoratifs museums and the Tuileries Garden to Concorde Square.
The second day is in Saint-Germain-des-Prés at ultra we said good morning with a bohemian breakfast. We ended the program followed by the Orsay Museum, Luxembourg Garden, Notre Dame Cathedral and Marais regions with Musee Picasso and Center Pompidou. You can also access this article from the link.
