Bodrum; As the blue peninsula of Muğla, the friendly city of the Aegean, it welcomes millions of tourists from all over the world every summer.. It is an indispensable tourism center with its historical texture preserved until today and natural beauties that make you feel the colors of summer, as well as the picture of purple bougainvillea hanging from the blue windows of its white houses.. Basement; a place with a smile for anyone who goes. According to some, September is the best time, and according to others, May is; but in fact, let’s take a look at Bodrum, which is beautiful in every season and every day, from my perspective.
The ancient Halikarnassos, with its current name Bodrum; a place with a smile for anyone who goes. This friendly town where everyone who loves the sea, the sun and the summer will come to at least once in their life; It is one of the most prominent spots in our country when it comes to a holiday, with its sea and sun as well as making you happy while traveling.
Historical Traces in the Center
Bodrum Castle and Underwater Archeology Museum, which has become the symbol of the district, are located in the center of the region.. Bodrum Castle, which is used as the Underwater Archeology Museum today; It stands out as the strongest fortress that has ever been preserved in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.. While visiting the museum, you will come across the remains of the Eastern Roman Ship, the Coin and Jewelery Hall, the Torture and Massacre Rooms.. When you go to the top of the castle; A beautiful view will be waiting for you. You can be sure that it will be worth the fatigue. The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, which is considered one of the 7 Wonders of the World, is also located close to this environment.. The mausoleum, which is currently considered an open-air museum, was first designed as a very large tomb built for the ruler of the Caria region, Mausolos, which was attached to the Persian Kingdom.
Most Preferred Towns
The towns around Bodrum attract attention with the different holiday atmospheres they offer to tourists.. Ortakent, Bitez, Gumbet, Torba, Gumusluk, Turgutreis, Yalikavak and Turkbuku; While it is among the most preferred resorts, the blue flag beaches are the favorite of Bodrum visitors.. If you want to have a different experience, you can choose Güvercinlik Bay to swim with the dolphins.. Camel Beach, right next to Yahşi Beach in Ortakent, which is famous for its clear water, is one of the most preferred beaches with its sandy ground.. While Bitez and Torba offer a calmer environment; Gümbet, Yalıkavak and Türkbükü are popular for their mobility.
I cannot leave these places because I spent my childhood in Turgutreis and Ortakent.. I can recommend Vira’s Beach, which I often prefer in Ortakent, where I have had the chance to visit twice every summer in recent years.. The sea of Ortakent/Yahşi Beach is stony unlike Camel Beach.. Don’t forget to put your sea shoes in your bag when you come here Based on my recent experience, it is possible to say that Torba Bay, where Thor Luxury Hotel & SPA, where I took a 4-day September holiday last summer, is located, has a unique beauty.
Journey to Shades of Blue
No wonder most people associate the color blue with Bodrum. You can visit different coves, from turquoise to dark blue, where you can come across many shades of blue, by boat tours.. The most beautiful part of the tours that take you all day long and tour the unique bays of Bodrum; Motivating you to swim in every bay it anchors. The color of the bays is so beautiful that you feel unhappy if you do not swim in one of them.. When you come to Bodrum, I recommend you to spend at least 1 day for these boat tours.. As standard; Get ready to go on a deep blue journey with tours to the Aquarium, Meteor Pit, Karaada, Rabbit Cape and Poyraz bays.. If you come across a fun boat, I’m sure you won’t want to get off the boat.. Tours are waiting for you on the beach side of Bodrum Bazaar, their prices are between 25-30 liras.. Before the boat tour, you need to get a little tan! Otherwise, on the way back to your hotel in the evening, it is inevitable to go in search of yoghurt and tomatoes in the market Also, you can go to Datça for the day with other tours that take a few hours, and if you have a Schengen visa, you can go to Kos Island.. Tour companies issue the Schengen Visa required to go to Kos Island in 4 days in Bodrum, keep in mind. If you are coming for a short vacation, have your visa ready in advance.
Coming to Bodrum
While you are in Bodrum, you can take two tours in the bazaar and wander around the souvenir shops.. Bodrum has many unique beauties.. In addition to classic souvenirs such as magnets, snow globes and glasses, Turkish delight with tangerine and satsuma is also very popular among visitors.. Again, tangerine cologne is one of the must-haves before returning from vacation.. By the way, you will see the words ‘Bodrum Doner with Vegetables’ while walking in the bazaar or towns.. If you like doner kebabs, I recommend that you do not return without trying, and have a feast with seafood accompanied by herbs special to the Aegean.. I went to Gemibaşı Restaurant in Marina, and I can guarantee that the appetizers go very well with raki Finally; Bitez Ice Cream, on the other hand, is one of the places that should definitely be visited on hot days with its real fruit and sugar-free ice cream varieties.. Mandarin is of course my favourite.
If you are coming by road, you should not return without having breakfast by the Bafa Lake on the Bodrum road.. I can recommend you Çeri Restaurant for this magnificent breakfast that has become famous.. We were very satisfied, I advise you to be hungry for a long time beforehand Have a nice holiday in advance!
