WHERE IS THE NAME KAPIDAĞ FROM COMING?
The village takes its name from the cool and fresh spring water that comes from the heart of Kapıdağ and is located in its square and at several points.. This is a water that those coming from the settlements of the region are also interested in.
According to what is told and the resources found in the region, the current settlement area of the village was founded in 1720 by a group of 60 people from Central Armenia on the region where it is located.
At that time, while the entire Kapıdağ Peninsula consisted of villages where Greeks resided, only Hamamali and Tatlısu were established as Turkish villages.. In accordance with the agreement made in 1922, which stipulated the displacement of the Turks in Thrace and the Greeks in Turkey, the people living there today settled here as immigrants.. The old structures that have remained in the village since those days have unfortunately been demolished and are on the verge of disappearing.
The crowded population of Tatlısı village, which is a summer resort, arouses the tradesmen.. During these times, the tea gardens in the region are also gaining momentum.
