Musicians among us will know, music is a true passion.
It pops into your mind wherever you go and whatever environment you are in.. Mine is that account too.. I change countries, continents, but music comes and finds me.
I’m talking about music in the street !
Today more than in Europe. Especially Central and Western Europe, Paris, Vienna…
When I go out to explore, familiar sounds come from the streets. I know this from somewhere.
Those who know, know that in Vienna, Opposite the Votiv Church there is a metro station. That’s where I heard a voice,
“Greensleeves”.
However, I was in that city for the first time!
Music feels like I know all the cities I’ve been to. I was in Malta. Republika, Valletta’s most famous street. A man presses the keys, regardless of passers-by, this is the sound of my piano at home!
Music takes you to another world when you least expect it.. Luckily we are a bit lucky in Europe. There is a street musician on almost every corner.
Sometimes there is music on the street, but there is no musician.
I was in Geneva. While walking with a pleasant view of the lake, I came across a softly standing piano.. There was no one playing, but I was there !
A tune from my own country came to my mind first. After all, Turkishness is in our blood, if we could, we would play our National Anthem every second there.
I am chatting with the people who live in these instruments on the streets of Europe.
I’m in Barcelona. right by the beach. I’m ashamed that I can play the guitar!
Yes, this is his homeland and there are great musicians.
Heey ! It’s enough if I say it or give a round of applause. Music unites people here too.. We start a close conversation as if we were running a ball in the same neighborhood.. His hometown is Mallorca.
It is easier to make street music in Spain than in northern countries..
Some places do not allow us to steal !
Yes, I know this place too. I was in Kadıköy. Bagdat Street and my high school friends. We are in a young and enthusiastic music rush, but it doesn’t last long…
More possible in Europe. Budapest, the banks of the Danube. The waters are not very calm in winter, but there is room for a few beautiful sounds..
After all, Mozart in the west and Chopin in the north… It’s like the music is reborn. Music on the streets of Europe is not over yet. There is a place for all of us.
There is music for all of us and it stretches across an entire continent.
Listen to this music as you explore, feel those cute tones.
I said cute, that’s right,
Maybe this way we’ll get a little further away from the borders, right?
