Today in Gorkemliyollar, I will talk about Bangkok, the starting point of my Southeast Asia trip.. My travel notes will be serialized to Singapore, Batam, Kuala Lumpur and Siem Reap.
I am very excited to go to Bangkok, the first city I will set foot in, in this geography that I am used to seeing from movies and documentaries! You can read about places to visit in Bangkok and my generalImpressions of Thailand in my Bangkok travel notes.
Boarding Card of My Flight from Istanbul to Bangkok
What to Do Before Going to Thailand?
Wednesday, April 26. I, who came to Istanbul from Budapest just yesterday, start the day with a nice breakfast at my house.. It’s sunny but not hot enough to rehearse Bangkok.
Before going to such distant places good preparation is essential. Especially if going to a different climate !
There are lots of snacks, medicines and summer clothes among the things I have in my bag today.. I want to open the topic of medicine.
Everyone who will travel to Southeast Asian Countries the nearest T.C.. Contact the Travel Health Center. On this site, you can find all the necessary information. Travel Health Centers provide services free of charge and provide us with the necessary vaccine and medicine support against diseases that are considered risky in the country we are going to.
When Boarding a Flight to Bangkok / Atatürk Airport
What Should I Take With Me When Going to Bangkok?
Besides, I recommend you to take insect repellent spray, sunscreen for those who need it, and simple medicines for first aid when you go to Thailand.
Everything is ready! I’m on my way to Ataturk Airport. My flight that will take me directly to Bangkok leaves at 20:10.. It will be a long flight over ten hours. After the checks at the airport, I board the Turkish Airlines plane called Bosphorus, which will make the Istanbul – Bangkok flight, and we take off towards Thailand !
Direct flights from Istanbul every day of the week to Bangkok and Phuket, the shortest way to reach Thailand from our country. Apart from this, you can also reach with connecting flights of various foreign companies, especially gulf airlines.. Generally, connecting flights offer a more convenient option but like me, there is a cheaper way to get there directly!
It will be possible to reach Bangkok by railway soon strong> can. Train projects from our country to Asia seem to be concluded in the coming years.
The distance I will travel today is approximately 7,500 kilometers.. On my Southeast Asia route, I will travel around the world for a total of half a tour.
One thing you should pay attention to when going to such distant places by plane is the time difference, namely “jet”. lag” effect. This can be even more annoying, especially when traveling east like me! Thailand is 4 hours ahead of our country.
Istanbul – Bangkok Flight Route on the Map
Because the east of our country lives further in the day than us, it would be best to get up here early in the morning before you go.. In this way, you will not have any difficulties when you go there..
Otherwise, from the moment you get on the plane, I think it’s a must to set your watch according to where you will land and keep a sleep pattern according to the time of the plane.. The departure times of most planes are already arranged in a way that people can best adapt to.. And I plan to sleep for most of my 11 hours on the plane this evening and arrive in Bangkok energetically in the morning.
General Information About Thailand
Now briefly, Thailand and I would like to give general information about Bangkok.
The Kingdom of Thailand with its official name, a country in Southeast Asia, and the last of the Thais, who have ruled this region with various practices since the 1200s. the state he founded. The population of the country is close to 70 million. The official language is Thai and the currency is the Thai Baht.

Bangkok for Beginners
Thailand is today Chinese, Indian and Southeast Asian draws attention with its special culture under the influence of. Especially in recent years, it has become one of the most popular tourism centers in the world with its nature, beaches and warm tropical climate throughout the year, as well as its cultural values.
The capital city of Bangkok is the country’s largest and most important city.. It is located in the middle of the country, near the coast of the South China Sea.. One of the most cosmopolitan and crowded points of the whole world, especially in Southeast Asia. It is a complete metropolis with its population exceeding 15 million.
One of the rising cities of the world with its high dynamism, rapidly developing commercial and economic value. Bangkok’s local name consists of 166 letters and this is the longest city name in the world.
The city is also the hottest big city in the world, according to World Meteorological Organization data, and according to some researches in recent years, it is the world’s most touristic city. point !
Bangkok Overview / On the way to Dusit
Thursday, April 27. After the night on the plane, we seem to have arrived on Thai territory.. We flew through Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and India through the night, respectively.
Thailand Entry Form
The aircraft you need to fill in upon entering Thailand before you start descending for landing. Immigration Form is distributed. In this form, you have to answer questions such as how long you will be in the country and where you will stay.
As I descend, the landscape I see below starts to excite me! There’s a different geography from what I’m used to seeing. Wetlands, reeds and flat lands attract my attention.

Does Thailand Require a Visa?
At 09.50 am local time Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. From the moment I left the plane I started to feel the heat. I proceed quickly at the terminal and enter the passport control.
Thailand is a country that does not require a visa for short-term visits from all passports of our country. Naturally, you do not need to deal with any visa issue during your trips to Bangkok.
My passport control only takes seconds! I am warmly welcomed to Thailand.
The Form You Must Fill in When Entering Thailand
The first thing that catches my attention at the terminal is the Thai Alphabet writings.. Even ordinary signs, with their aesthetically standing letters, resembles the art of ornamental writing indeed.
Bangkok Airport – City Center Transportation
Reaching Bangkok city center from Suvarnabhumi Airport I will use the subway called Airport Rail Link. In this way, I plan to be at the Phaya Thai station in the city center in just 30 minutes.
There is something you need to pay attention to in the airport subway! There are two different types of this subway that goes to the city center.. Although the expensive Express Line was closed at the time I went, I wanted to share this information with you because it could be put back into service at any time.
The First Sign I Saw at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport
By taking the City Line of Airport Rail Link For 45 baht you can travel to the city center. The metro stops at 6-7 stations along the way and brings you to the city comfortably.. I should add that 10 baht is equivalent to 1 lira.
However, for this trip you must have Thai Baht in cash. You cannot use a credit card to buy tickets from the machines, so you have to convert a small amount of money to baht at the airport.. Since most of the foreign exchange offices do not accept Turkish Lira, you should carry US Dollars or Euros.
I take the subway! In fact, I can also talk about Havaray.. In this way, I witness beautiful landscapes along the way.. I’ve already started to immerse myself in the city spirit as I raced towards Bangkok.
Inside the Bangkok – Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link
First Impressions of Bangkok
Phaya Thai Station’ i am in. From the moment I got off the subway, I was an unpleasant surprise!
Actually, from the moment I got off the plane, even though I was in an air-conditioned environment, I thought it was a little hot even here, until this moment…
The weather is so hot I can hardly breathe. The temperature of 35 degrees, which looks quite innocent on my phone, combined with incredible humidity makes me faint.. Considering that it was 15 degrees in Istanbul just hours ago, I think this should be considered normal.
Phaya Thai Station is located a little above street level.. I’m excited to go down and experience Bangkok !
My First View from Phaya Thai Station
It’s not easy to describe a moment like this. Frankly, from the moment I got off the subway, I was very surprised.. Although I have been to many places in the world before this place is very different even for me. Tuk-Tuks, motorcycles, smoke rising from the horizon of the street and a smell that permeates the city with the heat… everything is very strange!
After a few minutes, I’m getting used to this different atmosphere.. In fact, everything seems to be in such a strange mess that it’s so fun to be in this scene and experience all these differences!
First I’ll go to my hostel, located in the northwest of the city centre.. It’s about 3 kilometers from Phaya Thai where I am.. To experience more of Bangkok I prefer walking !
Bangkok Streets
Inner City Transportation in Bangkok
You have many options for urban transportation in Bangkok there is. There are metro and airrail networks in the city, but these usually go to the outside and modern parts of the city. In the city center you should use buses, taxis or Tuk-Tuks.
However, I don’t think you would want to hit the traffic in a crowded city like Bangkok! This is a city split by the Chao Phraya river.. Since the arms of the river surround the city in the form of snakes, you can reach almost all points over the water.. With Bangkok’s lovely local boats, you can experience the Thai atmosphere in the best way while traveling to your destination.
One of the Side Streets / Bangkok
I start walking towards the heart of Bangkok. Buildings that look run down and poor are quite interesting. This is the architectural style of Bangkok in general.. If we do not count the newly built high-rise buildings, there are several-storey structures that are neglected in this way in almost all of the city.
I dive into the side streets whenever I get the chance! I’m literally living in Bangkok now. Street vendors standing by the roadside, Thai people sitting in their shops and looking at me curiously…
Shabby Houses by the Channel
Street Foods
Most of the things sold on the street are about food. In Thailand they call it Street-Food. These foods, which usually include fried fish and chicken products, are from the Far East food culture.. It is possible to see people selling food in the open in this way almost everywhere in the city.. They are so frequent and abundant that the smell of food combined with the warm air of the city permeates the air of the city!
Tuk-Tuk’ers and bikers who wait for customers along the way I walk, frequently whistle.. Physically, it’s obvious that I’m a tourist here. The public the moment they see tourists they immediately intend to make money.
One of the Tuktuk Players Waiting for Customers by the Roadside
There are points you need to pay attention to while walking in Bangkok! The first of these is that traffic is flowing backwards here. Secondly, it is very difficult to cross the street.
Broad and long streets in Bangkok, there are usually not many traffic lights on the roads.. There are occasional overpasses. crossing from here is also not easy in this hot weather.
Bangkok Streets from the Overpass
I am getting closer to the city center with delightful road signs. I’m starting to see touristic shops in this area.. The most fundamental part of tourism in Bangkok is Buddhist Culture and Temples.
As a result of this culture, which is different for people from the west like me, sometimes Buddha Statues even bigger than yourself< on the streets of Bangkok you can see. As you know, this is a Buddhist country.
Now I have arrived at the first of the places I intend to visit in the city.
Beautiful Street Signs / Bangkok
Places to Visit in Bangkok
Democracy Monument and Squareone of the highlights of the city. The square with the same name and the 39-meter-high modern monument standing in the middle were brought to the city in 1939.
At the other end of the square, you can see The Giant Swing, that is, the big swing.. King 1 in 1784. This swing, built by Rama, has been the scene of magnificent ceremonies in the past.

Where to Stay in Bangkok?
My clock is approaching noon and the sun is hitting high. After taking a breath in the air-conditioned environment of a fast-food store in the square for a little rest, I arrive at Khaosan Lovers Hostel a few hundred meters away.
As its name indicates, this hostel is very close to Khaosan Road. near. I will stay here for an incredible amount of money like 100 baht, that is 10 TL per night.. You actually have a lot of options for staying in Bangkok.
Democracy Monument and Square / Bangkok
Almost the whole city is filled with hotels and hostels. Frankly, I was very indecisive when I made my reservation before I came.. I finally decided here. After continuing to Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia as part of my travel route, I will stay in Bangkok for one more day for my return.. I chose a different hostel in the south on my second visit to explore different parts of the city.
I got so caught up in the city’s atmosphere that I forgot that I came from the other side of the world in the morning ! Considering the heat outside, I decide to take a shower and rest at the hostel.
The Giant Swing
Buddhist Temples in Bangkok
Afternoon in Bangkok. The sun has lost its effect and there is some breathable air now. Great timing to explore the city. I haven’t really experienced the effect of the time difference honestly, I have enough energy. The fact that I slept 6-7 hours without interruption on the plane is very effective in this.
There are many temples in Bangkok that should be visited.. I start with Wat Bowonniwet right across from my hostel.
Wat Bowonniwet
The Bowonniwet Temple is the most beautiful temple I have ever seen ! Because it is the first time I see a Buddhist Temple. The architecture of the main structure of the temple, which has a very large courtyard, is eye-catching.. I think it is one of the most pleasant temples to visit in the city, with its entrance resembling Roman Columns, its roof reflecting the Far East culture and the famous Thai embroidery..
The most adorable part is that the temple is not touristic, so you can freely visit it.. It is a different experience to watch the Golden Buddha Statue and Buddhist people worship inside. I have no intention of visiting the city like a museum while I’ve already come this far! I want to live like a Bangkok person for a few days.
Golden Buddha in Wat Bowonniwet
Rambuttri Street
You arrive at a small square through the back door of the temple. From this area everywhere is lively and full of tourists. This place is very close to Khaosan Road.
I enter the famous Rambuttri Alley aka Rambuttri Street from the square.. There are dozens of cafes, restaurants and bars around me along this street.. Most of these cafes and bars are designed with gardens and uniquely beautiful !
The Square I Came Out From Behind Wat Bowonniwet
These restaurants and night entertainments’ are already a part of tourism in Bangkok. That’s why there are Thai figures and Buddhist Statues in these places.
I keep walking in Rambuttri. There are dozens of shops selling souvenirs around me.. It actually reminded me of the shoemaker’s bazaar in Kadıköy.. It is possible to see a pace reminiscent of such chaos throughout Thailand.
Rambuttri Street
Grand Palace – Grand Palace
There are places I can’t wait to see before it gets dark!
The Grand Palace is undoubtedly one of the must-see structures in Bangkok.. After walking 1.5 kilometers by Khaosan, I now see it in front of me.
The Grand Palace, that is, the Great Palace, has been the center of the Siamese States since 1782. With an area of over 200 thousand square meters, it contains dozens of delightful buildings, temples and various venues.
One of the Cafes with Local Figures on Rambuttri Street
You must be here early in the morning to visit the palace. I had the chance to visit this place on my last day in Bangkok. You have to pay 500 baht to enter.. However, I must say that this money is totally worth it.
You can also observe the palace from the street in front of it.. This area is kept under a security corridor. At the point you arrive near the palace, you pass an x-ray and identity check.
Grand Palace Bangkok
Wat Pho – Reclining Buddha
Two important temples of Bangkok greet you, right next to the Grand Palace. ! The first of these is Wat Pho.
Pho temple more commonly known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Completed in 1781, this temple is impressive with its huge golden Buddha statue inside!
Reclining Buddha Monument 15 meters high and 43 meters long. The various glass crystal decorations are worth seeing. Wat Pho is also known as the origin of traditional Thai Massage.
Reclining Buddha Statue / Wat Pho
Thai Massage
Speaking of Thai Massage, I have some things to add.. Thai Massage, one of Thailand’s most important cultural values. It is very different with its special techniques and creams consisting of herbs grown in this region.
It is possible to see places where you can have Thai Massage in almost every corner of Bangkok. And at very affordable prices. If you are going to continue to Cambodia after here, like me, I should remind you that you can get the same massage there for much more affordable prices.
Wat Pho’s Pleasant Gate Overlooking the River
Wat Arun – Temple of Dawn
Bangkok’ line at perhaps the most famous temple of the city; Wat Arun.
Wat Arun is across the river from the Grand Palace. There is a very pleasant way to get here !
Just next to the temple, reciprocating small boats are located From Tha Tien pier near the temple with the Reclining Buddha For only 5 baht I get on the cute boat that will take me across.
Crossing the Chao Phraya River / From Local Boat / Across Wat Arun
These boats are unique to Thailand and they are different. You have to be careful when riding as it is operated somewhat insecurely. You may find yourself in the Chao Praya river at once!
The sun is now very close to setting as you cross the river.. Meanwhile, I have the chance to see Bangkok’s general silhouette from the river.
Wat Arun
I arrive at Wat Arun, that is, the Temple of Dawn. This temple is one of the symbols of Bangkok and Thailand.. A world-renowned spot in the city, in my opinion.. It was completed in 1656 and you can clearly see the traces of Thai Culture in its architecture.
The tower in the middle is exactly 82 meters long and can be easily seen from far points of the city. Although some of it was under restoration at the time I visited, it managed to impress me.
Small Monastery Next to Wat Arun
There is also a small monastery, or religious school, next to Wat Arun.. The appearance of this building is as elegant as the temple and is worth seeing.. After the sun has darkened, Wat Arun is dazzling with its magnificent lights!
When it gets dark, the city takes on a completely different atmosphere. The streets are much more crowded and full of lights. All the way to Khaosan, I pass through small canals surrounding Bangkok.. You know who also examines the single-storey houses built on the sides while looking at the horizon of the canals.. These houses are the most striking examples of the Buddhist lifestyle.
Bangkok Streets after Dark / Thais Eating by the Roadside
Khaosan Road – Bangkok Nightlife
I arrive at Khaosan Road. This is where the heart of the city beats after the sun goes down. All around me are lights, bars and restaurants. Along the way the sound of the music invites me to the end. There are also vendors selling fried insects in the middle of the road!
This is a curious topic about Thailand. Yes, you got it right, they eat the fried insects that we can’t stand to see or touch here!
After completing my tour in Khaosan, I am sitting at a pleasant bar in Rambuttri, which I stopped at in the afternoon.. The environment is fun! Enjoying a beer with live music. Beer at the bars here is only 10 baht.
Khaosan Road Bangkok
Meanwhile, I also get the chance to talk to people in the city. In fact, most people in this region are tourists, but it is possible to come across local people as well.. Our country is not very famous in Thailand. As a plus, there is no prejudice.. All of the people I talked to were very friendly indeed.
Time to rest after a long day.. I haven’t completed the places I plan to visit in Bangkok yet. Tomorrow I’m leaving Bangkok for Singaporea. In the last two days of my trip, I will come back to Bangkok and visit the remaining spots.
Now I continue to talk about the places left in Bangkok and my last two days without interruption!
Rambuttri Street Drinking Beer at
Saturday, May 6. I wake up at the Old Town Hostel on the south side of Bangkok. I prepared a Turkish-made breakfast for myself today. I am ready for the day with the tea I brought from Istanbul, the hot dog I made, a small dessert I bought from the market and a banana. The best breakfast in Bangkok, things you buy and make yourself from the convenience store !
I’m leaving the hostel. This part of the city is more organized and modern than the Khaosan side. Actually, where I’m thinking of going is the northernmost side of town.. The best way to do this is over the river.
Breakfast at the Hostel
River Cruise in Bangkok
The closest pier to me is Si Phra Ya. Bangkok has many piers by the river. You can use Google Maps to find the closest one to you.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, the best and cheapest way to experience this city is local boats.. Motor lines on the river in Bangkok are colored. Once you find the color line to your destination, all you have to do is get on these cute boats and enjoy the moment!
Si Phra Ya Dan River View / Bangkok’s Tall Buildings
Bangkok’s Local Boats
Bangkok These motorboats in ‘reminiscent of our Signature Boats indeed. They were made in a very long and thin structure, and they reveal the traces of this culture together with their sharp lines.. You buy your ticket from the pier, but since there are no box offices at some piers, it is possible to buy it from the officer on the boat, ticket prices are only 10-20 baht depending on the color.. Also, I joined the crowd on the way back and got on without even paying!
It is a different pleasure to watch this city over the river.. I think it will take weeks if you try to visit everywhere. This is a huge metropolis.. In my short time, I watch and interpret the image of some points from afar.
One of the Local Riverboats in Bangkok
You can see high and modern hotels by the river in the south of the city.. There are also luxury speedboats on the river besides Bangkok’s poor appearance.
I get off at Thewes pier near Dusit District.. I have to walk 2 kilometers. The place I want to see here is the Dusit Palace Complex.
On the Way to Dusit Area / One of Bangkok’s Interesting Buses
Dusit Palace Area
Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, in my opinion, inside Dusit Palace Complex most important building. This place has been the residence of Thai Kings throughout history.. Today it is used only as a museum.. The architecture of the mansion is unlike any other structure in Bangkok.
King 5 in front of the mansion. Rama has a large equestrian monument. This complex also includes Vimanmek Palace, Dusit Zoo.. When visiting these places, you must buy a ticket and pass through the security corridor.
Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall / Dusit
What to Eat in Bangkok?
Go back to the riverside and enter the middle of the city. I’m moving on the right boat. My current stop is Yodpiman River Walk Bangkok. This is one of the shopping malls set up by the river.. You can find delightful products and restaurants.
I sit at the restaurant named Mango Tree on the upper floor of this place and eat a delicious shrimp meal. They served rice and salad with the shrimp.. Although it is a luxury-looking place, the prices are quite affordable.. Everything is cheap in Bangkok anyway!
On The Way To The River Walk / At The Front Of The Boat
Thai Cuisine
If I want to talk about food. it is not easy to find something suitable for our taste in Bangkok. People who are accustomed to the flavors of the Far East from our country are lucky here.. Thai Cuisine mainly bears traces of Far East flavors. Undercooked seafood and rice are among the most consumed things here.
It is also possible to snack from Street Foods.. However, I was content with just trying because it was not suitable for my taste and because of its heavy smell spreading in the heat.
The Shrimp Dinner I ate / River Walk Bangkok
Right next to River Walk King 1. There is a great monument to Rama opposite Wat Ratchaburana. I must say that they completed a pleasant whole. There are hundreds of temples and monuments like this one around Bangkok that you can explore.
I’m on Yaowarat Road. This is another highlight of the city, Chinatown.
King 1. Rama Monument
Chinatown – Chinatown
Bangkok is home to one of the largest Chinatowns in the world. There are a lot of Chinese living here because of the geographical proximity.. Along the Yaowarat road, you think you’re in Beijing!
The street in Chinatown is colorful with the signposts and hustle and bustle. In this region, the inedible animal species in our country are fried.
Chinatown / Bangkok
Temple of the Golden Buddha
I see Wat Trai Myth just ahead. Also known as the Temple of the Golden Buddha.
This temple is one of the names in the city.. Its architecture is also slightly different.. Impressive with its Golden dome rising with hard lines. Inside is a golden Buddha, after which it is named.
Street Vendors in Chinatown
Just in front of the temple is the Chinatown Gate.. This door rises at the entrance of the neighborhood in a style we are accustomed to seeing from the Far East culture.. It’s great to watch with their embroidery.
There is a special spot for shopping lovers on my route in the city; MBK Center.
Wat Trai Myth / Temple of the Golden Buddha
Shopping in Bangkok
MBK Center is Bangkok’s largest shopping mall. Located in the east of the city, near Phaya Thai where I came from the airport. It is possible to find everything you are looking for in this complex.
The first floors are filled with shops with mostly local products and souvenirs.. When you go to the upper floors, you fall into an electronic paradise. I I think I’m on AliExpress for a moment !
Front of MBK Center
Electronics Prices in Bangkok
However, I don’t have such positive news about prices. Phones and computers are 10-20 percent more convenient than our country, this is obvious, but I can say that they will be cheap if you need them.. There is no product that I can say “It’s so cheap that I couldn’t buy it”.
The sellers here reminded me of Doğubank. You have to keep your eyes open and bargain to buy something of quality and at a reasonable price.
The same applies throughout Bangkok.. Shopping in Bangkok is pleasant, but if you are careful!
Chinatown Bangkok
Bangkok Buses
I realize that it is dark when I leave MBK Center. This time I will take the bus to my hostel which is not far away. Buses in Bangkok are different !
What is normal in Bangkok ? Buses also get their share from it. Traveling in the rather imposing and windowless buses is a different experience.. The drivers and interior designs of the buses also reminded us of our minibus drivers.
Traveling on Bangkok Buses
Floating Markets of Bangkok
Now I have completed visiting the places to visit in Bangkok . I should mention one important place that I did not go to during the days I mentioned, The Floating Markets of Bangkok.
One of the important cultural habits of Bangkok is the markets on this river, which is known as the English Floating Market.. These markets are unfortunately a little outside the city. The closest and the one I went to is the Taling Chan Floating Market.
This is a cute little spot where you can experience the floating market.. You can reach the city center by bus number 255, 79 and 919.
Taling Chan Floating Market
Actually, the most famous floating market is Damnoen Saduak. Because this is 60 kilometers west of the city, it is a spot that can be preferred by those with more time.. the best way to get to Damnoen Saduak is to take tours !
Tuk-Tuks from Bangkok
The 5 days I spent in Bangkok, mostly over the river and on foot i discovered the city. This city is not a place you can enjoy on the subways. Tuk-Tuks are the most important and famous part of transportation.
I think it would be a great loss to return from Thailand without getting on Tuk-Tuks.. I didn’t take a Tuk-Tuk in Bangkok. Because a few days ago, I experienced a lot in Angkor Wat, Cambodia.
Bangkok’s Tuk-Tuks
Is Bangkok Cheap?
You don’t have to be too scared when you get on Tuk-Tuks in Bangkok. On average, you can go anywhere you want for 100-150 baht. Bargain and you’ll be successful!
I’m going to talk a little bit about the Bangkok travel economy.. This is a cheap city and country as expected.. However, this does not mean that it is free! Since we are talking about a huge metropolis, it is possible to encounter all kinds of prices.
How Many Days to Visit Bangkok?
Especially due to the availability of hotel and hostel prices. Therefore, I suggest you stay here for at least 3-4 days.. Not valid if you’re only going to see the list of places to visit, of course, for those who want to experience Bangkok!
South Bangkok Streets
Cities to Visit Around Bangkok
Up to Bangkok There are many places you must visit while you are here.. At the top of these are Thailand’s other tourism paradises Phuket and Pattaya. You can reach these two cities by trains and airlines.. There are low cost flights from Don Mueang Airport in the north of Bangkok, especially companies such as Air Asia and Jet Airways.
Also on my Southeast Asia Route you are in the right place to go to Singapore, Malaysia and Cambodia. You are likely to find very affordable flights, especially to Singapore.
My suggestion for adventure seekers is to go to Cambodia by road, like me.. You can arrive at the border city of Aranyaprathet for only 60 baht, or 6 liras, by trains departing from Bangkok Central Train Station.
Moving on the Chao Phraya River / Bangkok
People of Thailand
It would be a shame if I didn’t say two words about Thai people.. I think very friendly and warm people. While I was walking around in my t-shirt with the word Istanbul on it, there were some people calling me “Istanbull, so far away !” and smiling.
As I was traveling from Cambodia to Bangkok, on the train I was the center of attention of a girl and old uncle who saw me as a stranger for hours. They gave me good advice, I also learned important information about the country.. They are also very respectful of our religion and way of life.
In fact, Buddhism lies behind Bangkok’s seemingly run-down and poor appearance. Since Buddhists are people who prefer a life far from ostentatious and luxurious, they live poorer compared to the money they have!
In Front of the Grand Palace / Bangkok
Is Bangkok Safe?
This situation means understanding the country and makes Bangkok safe too. Of course, there is as much crime as in every metropolis, but in general, I felt safe in the process there and I did not encounter the opposite situation.. You just have to get used to the poor-looking environment and the strange looks of the Asian people!
To sum up, Bangkok is a city far but worth every mile I travel. In my article, I tried to make you feel the excitement I experienced there directly.. Because I am really impressed with this city !
You should definitely visit Bangkok to see the differences and to find yourself in a different world.
Bangkok trip I end my long travel guide in the form of a guide here.. As part of my Southeast Asia trip, my next stop will be Singapore.. You can find my travel notes there.. Stay warm!
