You can check my Mexico route here.
21- Guadalajara
Maybe Guadalajara is one of the most beautiful cities to live in Mexico.. Don’t look at what I call a city, it’s a pretty big city.. A place that overvalues ββart. You can understand the city’s view of art from the video in the link.. Lots of old buildings and lots of museums to visit.. Since most of them are in the center, you can visit all of them on foot in 2 days.. All you need is a tourist map. There are two important places you can’t find on the map. One is the 220-year-old Civil Fray Antonio Hospital, whose walls are covered with legendary paintings and is still in operation, and the other is the statue of Jorge Matute Remus pushing the building, which carries an important communication building 17 meters forward with his engineering work in 1950.. Both in the city center, places to go on foot. You can find it easily with Google maps.. There is also a very big market called Mercado San Juan in the center that sticks in my mind.. You should definitely go there.. They are the largest supermarket in Central America.
There are also beautiful parks in the city, large and small. there is. Don’t think it’s a normal park, there are squirrels, ducks and similar animals in most of them.. And the good thing is you can feed them with your hands.. Watch the video at the link and you’ll probably want to go.
The Tania I met here invited me to a family gathering or two. If you want to see a little bit of Mexican culture, food, home life, barbecue parties and nonsense TV shows, I say watch the video below.
Safe My rating for Guadalajara is 8 out of 10
22- Guanajuato
The most colorful city I’ve ever seen in my life. It is a place where I am impressed with its narrow streets, art galleries, tunnels passing under the city and extreme photographic scenery.. Too many foreign students in the city. The people I met came here from Europe to study.. Even the friend I stayed at was a student.. You can watch the video on the link that I went home and attended the salsa course 5 minutes later.
There were large and small stream beds under it.. When the streams dried up, they modified these water beds a little and turned them into tunnels for transportation.. But it’s not a tunnel like that, like a spider web under the ground you know. If you use the tunnels to go from one place to another, you take a shortcut, but if you don’t know the roads, you will fall into the position of a mouse looking for cheese π The tunnels are always dark.
If you are interested in photography, you can stay here for days and take pictures.. It is a fascinating place with its narrow streets, colorful buildings and old churches.. You can walk almost anywhere. An easy and affordable place for backpackers.
This city also has the scariest The There is a museum of Mummies Of Guanajuato. It has been voted the scariest museum in the world because it has 108 real mummies.. The story is a little weird.. Once upon a time, they started to embalm and bury those who died due to the cholera epidemic.. The state imposed a grave tax on those who were buried in this way and held their close relatives responsible for it.. Of course, when many relatives did not pay the tax, the war of the state took the buried people from the grave and took them to a room.. Later, in 1900, these mummies attracted the attention of tourists and later this place was officially turned into a museum.. I don’t know if it’s moral to go into the museum and look at these dead people, but I couldn’t understand those who took selfies with dead babies.. I say watch the video from the link and give it your wife.
The nightlife is lively because it is a bit of a student city but everywhere you see extremely hyperactive 18-19 year olds jumping and jumping.. This can be weird sometimes.. Prices are neither expensive nor cheap. Safe Guanajuato deserves a score of 9 out of 10.
23- San Luis Potosi
There is nothing here as a city. Generally, travelers stay for one night as it is on the road and then continue on their way.. I stayed for a few days as I found a pleasant house from couchsurfing.. You can watch the video from the link.
What made this place nice for me was meeting Karla and being invited to the weekend drag races.. Turns out he was participating in the race with his car in Karla.. Well of course I became her copilot. You can watch the video below.
I don’t rate San Luis Potosi because it looks safe but the people are cold and there isn’t much to do in the city. .
24- Real De Catorce
This small town was founded about 200 years ago only for underground mines. When the mines were finished, everyone left this place.. Somehow, later on, someone came and started to settle here again.. In the last 10 years, it has attracted a lot of tourists’ attention.
Entrance to the town since it is from mining it’s just a narrow tunnel. It is so narrow that two cars cannot pass side by side.. This is a village but not a village with traditions and old people since it was founded later.. If you try to buy souvenirs, almost everything is made in china. It’s hard not to be surprised how the products made in China got all the way here.. There are no hostels in the town, there are 9-10 hotels. But if you do like me, you can stay in a private room for 50 pesos (3 usd) per day.. You can watch the video for the house and the village in general.
Another feature of this place is its location. the peyote cactus. Peyote cacti that make you hallucinate. On the top of the mountain, where I went alone for 2-3 hours to see the view, I encountered the Huicholes who ate these cacti and performed rituals.. It was one of the weirdest experiences I’ve had in Mexico. I say watch the video below.
Real De Catorce, which is extremely safe and very affordable for backpackers, deserves a score of 9.5 out of 10.
25- Xilitla
A place famous for its garden built by Edward James in 1940. Other than that, he doesn’t have much of a joke.. You can go to the forest where the garden is in 45 minutes by walking from the center.. It’s not easy to explain here, so I say watch the video from the link.
Day to Xilitla i went with the army and from there i went to Aquismon. If you want, there are hostels and camping places near the garden.. You can stay at affordable prices.. They are somewhat hippie places. Safe, Xilitla deserves 8 points out of 10 with this fantastic garden.
26- Aquismon
to Aquismon, the city that hosts the place that impressed.
What makes the city special is the Cave Of Swallow cave here. One of the deepest known caves at 372 meters. Another feature is that tens of thousands of birds go out at 6 in the morning and come back in the evening.. Two types of birds live in the cave.. One is green parrots and the other is birds like black swallows.. And these birds go out and enter in turns inside, they hardly move at the same time.. Because it is very deep, the birds have to rise upwards and turns for 1-2 minutes while they are coming out from the bottom.. Getting inside is much more attractive.. They dive to the bottom at full speed and enter like that.. They dive so fast that their descent makes the sound of the wind.. It was one of the most fantastic natural phenomena I have ever seen.. I say watch the video from the link.
Of course, I wanted to go down while I was here, but they said it was impossible because it was the mating season of the birds.. So I found another cave and went down there. This was the most impressive place I’ve been in all my trips. Even though I have no mountaineering experience, I went down to the 200 meter deep cave by myself.. It’s easy to get off, but getting up was one of the hardest jobs of my life.. But the atmosphere inside, the experience I had was priceless for me. Watch the video, you’ll agree.
There is also a waterfall close to the city besides these wells, but I didn’t go.. You can stop by if you have time.
There is no hostel in Aquismon, only 2 hotels. Since they were not affordable, I went to the tourism office and said that I was looking for an affordable place, but I could not find it.. They told me they could arrange a place for me free of charge.. I didn’t know that the place they set up was a homeless hostel π I say watch the video from the link. Safe, Aquismon deserves 10 points out of 10 thanks to its legendary caves.
27- Ciudada Valles
I just want to rest on the way here. I stopped by. An ordinary place with nothing special.
28- Monterrey
A cold city with commerce and business centers. For some reason I didn’t like this place. I went to a few museums and art galleries. They were beautiful, but generally not a place to go and visit.
My host here was Karla, whom I met in Taiwan 5 years ago.. You can watch me visiting Karla’s family and listening to the Ankara air in the video below π
I haven’t been out much at night. That’s why it was safe during the day, but I can’t say anything about the night.. It deserves 4 points out of 10.
29- Chihuahua
There’s not much to see in Chihuahua city, but if you look at the whole state, it’s legendary they have places. What I missed here were the crystal mines. If you happen to be here, I would say stop by those crystal mines.. It could be a different experience.
I can’t say anything about security, I only stayed one day in the city. You don’t need to stop by unless you’re on your way. I give it a score of 3 out of 10.
30- Creel
With its surface area, it is 4 times larger than the Grand Canyon in America. We are in Creel city with Copper Canyon.
You can also come here from Chihuahua by train named Chepe, but unfortunately these train tickets are too expensive for foreigners. That’s why I chose to come by road.. If money is not important, I would definitely say come by train.. Because this train track is one of the few beautiful train tracks in the world, as it constantly circulates around the canyon.. You cross over a hundred tunnels and bridges. I had done the 6-7 hour part when I was going down to the ocean side.. It was indeed a nice trip.
Although it is an extremely touristic place thanks to the canyon, the prices are generally affordable. In my opinion, the best place to see the canyon is the Divisadero region.. If money is not a problem, you can stay in hotels with a legendary canyon view.. If you are looking for an affordable place, you can also stay in the San Rafael area, 20 minutes from Divisadero.
I’ve also seen the Grand Canyon in America. I don’t know how accurate it would be to compare the two, but the Grand Canyon seemed even more frightening and majestic to me.. Copper Canyon looks like a huge mountain rather than a canyon because it’s more green, but it’s still a very legendary place.. You have to go and see it.
The canyon is also the largest in the world with a length of 2.5 km. There is a zipline. You hang on the rope and descend 2.5 km at a speed of 80-130 km per hour.. You can watch the video below.
You can cross the canyon and go to Batopilas city opposite for 3 days by walking and camping, but you should definitely do this with a guide.. Otherwise, 99% say you can get lost in the canyon and never come back.
If you want to stay in Creel, there are hostel-style places where you can stay for 6-7 USD per night.. Do not forget to go to the Valley of Los Monjes rocks, which is very close to the center.. If you have time, you can also stay in a lodge around Arareco lake like us.. It was extremely hot the day before, but the next day we woke up to snow.. You can watch the video from the link.
This part of Chihuahua state is where the biggest drug cartels in Mexico are located. Location. Drug traffic revolves around this canyon. I’ve been out at night too, but it’s a weird place in terms of security. Normally, men have no business with you or me, they take care of their own traffic.. That’s why I didn’t feel any security problems, but if your problem is finding drugs or similar things, anything can happen to you here.. Because in some villages you can find 1 kilo of marijuana for 50 usd.. Men are against foreigners entering this type of thing because they want all kinds of traffic to be under their control.. So if you are not dealing with such illegal things, you won’t be in trouble.
Creel city deserves a score of 9.5 out of 10 with its legendary canyon.
