London Eating-Drinking Guide!
Proudly presents-sore-blog,
It is customary, let’s start with breakfast (we are Turkish)! As you know, the British ‘British Breakfast’ is famous, so we looked around, asked Umut’s friends, and then tried ‘Bar Bruno’ around Soho.. It’s cheap, not crowded, and no one is trying to rip you off inside.. What we’re saying is, if you’re near Soho, you can try this place.
If you don’t want to pay a lot for breakfast or you’re in a hurry, ‘Pret a Manger’
will pop up all over London, especially on their tube. strong>s save lives. Don’t even think of it as just breakfast, sandwiches, lunchtime soups, fruits, vegan options are all there and the prices are very reasonable.. You can make a note of this place.
Muffin Man, a coffee shop near Kensington. If you happen to be in Kensington, don’t miss this place.. Their coffee is very good. Another suggestion for a coffee shop is ‘Kaffeine’ which has branches in several places in London.. We loved the coffees and snacks here too.
Another British tradition is ‘Fish and Chips’. Since we don’t like the smell of fish, we couldn’t warm to the ‘fish and chips’, but at least you can stay inside if you don’t try.. We tried The Golden Hint’ near Baker Street. Apart from the taste of the food, the prices of the restaurant are reasonable and the service is fast.. You can also add this to your list.. There is a French restaurant called ‘Le Relais de Venise’ right across from here.. If you want to spend some money and have a nice meal (or if the company pays or something!), you can try this place, we didn’t go, but many recommend it.
We came to Canden region.. Frankly, we always ate street food because we had the chance to eat a lot of street food in Camden and we generally prefer street food to restaurant food.. But if you want a sit-down place, we have two favorites in Camden. The first is ‘Bintang Restaurant’ and the second is ‘Mr Piadina’, a small Italian restaurant. Both are cheap, beautiful and not overly touristic, what more could you ask for.
Our favorite in Notting Hill was ‘The Hummingbird Bakery’. This cupcake shop, which has branches in several places in London, is a sweet treat.. When you see all kinds of cupcakes, one’s eyes roll. Around £3 each.
Sherlock Holmes Pub: With your permission, we’re getting the ‘Sherlocks’ here. Near Trafalgar Square, this pub has been designed entirely with the Sherlock concept and if you’ve watched the TV series or movie recently and go with that gas, it’s sure to please you! Prices are reasonable, if you want to go in the evening, reservation is required.
Chiquito: We said that London is the city of world cuisine.. Then not if we don’t recommend a mexican restaurant. Chiquito’s food is very successful and prices are affordable. The location is around Leicester Square.. I guess we don’t need to tell you that you got full marks from us.. Also, if there is no room here or you are too lazy to go, you can dive into any ‘Chipotle’ you can find.
‘Ye Olde Meter’ is one of London’s very famous and such a small 500 year old bar. It is usually very crowded, but if you go early, you have a good chance of finding a place.. If you can’t find a place here, you can also try ‘Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese’ right next to it.. This bar has also been around since the 1660s and the ambiance is very nice.. Our favorite is ‘The Cross Keys’ in Covent Garden. They deliver your beer in two minutes even when it’s most crowded, and the location is very central (for example, we stopped here for a beer while walking most of the time.)
‘Byron’ famous hamburger chain. Although everyone recommended it, we did not like it very much.. Try ‘Honest Burger’, which has several branches in London instead, or ‘Patty&Bun’ around Bond Street. Both tried and confirmed by glutton-bi-blog. An average of 25 pounds for two people.. Ideal if you want to pass on the ‘Wok to Walk Noodle’ lunch that you can find everywhere, you choose what you want and they make it right away, eat it while you walk, or sit in a park or something.. We love you Wok to Walk. We almost forgot, there’s also ‘Wok to Walk’ brother ‘Wasabi’. This is a self-service Far East restaurant, and you can get enough of even 3 Pounds.
One of the very famous chains in London is Nando’s. The chicken you know, but it can be a life saver in difficult times.. If you come across Nando’s while wandering around where to eat, you can dive without hesitation.. We didn’t like ‘Pizza Express’, the pizza chain, and it’s not cheap either.
Let’s suggest another one-blog for chicken-lovers. We loved ‘Clockjack’ near Piccadilly. You can see why we praise it so much from the photo.
Borough Market: While this was a place where you can buy various kinds of cheese, meat and fruit, consisting of Londoners who are after gastronomy, it has now become the most touristic food and beverage market.. There are dozens of stalls, some selling cheese, some ham, some coffee beans.. Even though we left out of curiosity, when we saw the prices, we were out of our minds! While we have a delicious Tesco……
Don’t think that they ate all this in a 5-day trip! As we mentioned in the London Travel Post, the suggestions we wrote here, the meals we tried with the recommendations of Umut while living in London, and actually spread over time(!). We’re aware, but we’ve never been to an expensive and stylish restaurant, and we don’t list the places we haven’t been to.
We hope this guide will help you to gorge(!) >
