PLACES TO VISIT IN TRABZON CENTER (UPDATED LIST)
I think it is enough to spare 1 day for places to visit in the center of Trabzon. In general, you can visit all the places I mentioned below in one day.. Fortunately, some of these places were either closed or under renovation.. Still, our biggest luck was that Hagia Sophia was open.. The fact that Hagia Sophia, which has been under renovation for years, is open has alleviated the sadness of other closed places.. Trabzon roads made us very difficult. The roads in the center are quite narrow and generally cobblestones are used on the roads.. It’s cobblestone but it’s like you’re driving on rough terrain. Apart from this, there is a general parking problem in Trabzon.. In order to avoid parking problems, you can choose paid parking spaces.

One of the first places that come to mind when Trabzon is mentioned, Hagia Sophia is a magnificent building with its architectural structure, frescoes and deep history.. This beautiful building fascinated us with every point. Trabzon Hagia Sophia Church King I, who founded the Trabzon Empire on 1024. It was built by Manuel between 1250 – 1260. After the conquest of Trabzon by Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1461, the church was converted into a mosque by Kurd Ali Bey by the order of the sultan in 1584.. However, the mosque was not repaired for a long time and remained closed to worship.. Hagia Sophia I. It was used as a warehouse and military hospital by the Russian army that occupied Trabzon in World War II.
