INFORMATION AND ADVICE ABOUT SINGAPORE
Singapore uses Singapore dollar as its currency. As of the end of 2017, we can say that it is close to 3 TL in terms of how much TL is the Singapore dollar.. But I would not recommend you to go with Turkish lira, some exchange offices may not accept them.. It makes more sense to go with euros or US dollars. For current rates, you can refer to the following table.
Traffic flows on the left in Singapore, probably because it was once under the influence of England.. Singapore sockets can also be in the form of British sockets that require a three-input converter, if you have a converter, take it with you, maybe you need it.
Singapore is a very warm country due to its proximity to the equator. Regardless of when you go (always hot), always take sunscreen with you. But don’t miss to carry a cardigan with you, as the air conditioners work to death indoors.
Pay attention to whether your accommodation provides free wifi, internet in Singapore can be a bit of a problem.. If not, you have three options; you either pay for it or accept to live without internet for a few days in advance or get a Singapore hotline.
SINGAPORE BANNED
Singapore is called “fine city” , you will see this article written everywhere in souvenir shops. Meaning both “beautiful city” and “city of forbidden” in English, this description fits Singapore perfectly.. Let’s talk a little bit about Singapore bans.
The most interesting and well-known ban is chewing and selling gum.. It is not allowed to spit the gum on the ground, it is forbidden to simply chew. Don’t take gum with you.
I did some research on why. Since it is a hot country, chewing gum spitting in ridiculous places became troublesome and there were many problems because of the gum sticking here and there.. I even heard that a chewing gum thrown into the elevator damaged the sensor of the elevator and caused the death of two children, and they banned the chewing gum thing completely.. But doctors could prescribe chewing gum for medicine.
There are more bans. You can enter the country with only one pack of non-Singaporean cigarettes. More forbidden. Even if the road is empty, it is forbidden to cross the street at a red light.. It is forbidden to turn taxis from the road, you will get on from the stop.
Singapore’s population density is quite high.. For this reason, it is obvious that the country of rules should regulate the traffic issue with some rules.. And they did, of course It is very difficult to own a car, first of all, it is necessary to get a 10-year driver’s license.. This license can be even higher than the price of the car.. I’ve heard numbers like 120 thousand Singapore dollars for a driver’s license and 30 thousand Singapore dollars for a car, now imagine what the rate is.. When 10 years are up, it is necessary to get the same license again.
And let’s come to the durian ban.. When you take public transport or enter some closed areas, you will see an interesting warning ‘No durians’ next to the familiar ‘No smoking’ and ‘No eating&drinking’ warnings. What they call this forbidden durian is just a fruit This fruit, which is very sweet and soft on the inside, has a serious contradiction with its bad smell on the outside, so it is never wanted in closed places.. But Singaporeans’ attitudes towards duriana are as contradictory as the fruit itself; they don’t seem to like it and they don’t want to, but they made the outside of the opera house in the country look like durian, so there is no love inside.. Otherwise, they could make him addicted to a doctor’s prescription like chewing gum
The bans in Singapore are not over; I heard that it is illegal in the country to have a dirty car and you can be fined.. Yes, we are one more year old Well, when it was so expensive to buy a car (actually a driver’s license), it started to be counted as one of the wealth indicators in the country.. One of the wealth indicators, known as 5C, is a car (Car).. Others are cash (Cash), credit card (Credit card), cricket-golf club membership (Cricket) and condominium. – owning a house – being able to get a mortgage (Condominium). Having these C’s I have mentioned is not for every brave man.
One more information about Singapore; Always look carefully at the signs around you.. Do not eat or even drink water while using public transport. Or, first of all, see someone else do them and make sure nothing has happened to them, and only then do it yourself.. If you are a smoker, life may be a little more difficult for you, do not try to smoke in every open area you see and make sure to check whether the area you are in is a smoking area.. Do not throw cigarette butts or any other garbage on the floor, do not spit on the ground, and do not talk loudly if you are out with a group of friends.. Of course, it is the most ideal thing to make these last words a philosophy of life and always apply them, but if you are not careful in this small island state, you risk being fined 1000 Singapore dollars, be careful.
SINGAPORE HOLIDAY RATES
Singapore is an expensive country in general. If we consider excluding flight tickets and accommodation; transportation, entrance fees for places to visit, food and beverage, shopping and entertainment expenses remain.
I mentioned in my Singapore article for transportation; Metro prices vary according to the distance, but in general, we can say that a single ticket is 2 – 5 Singapore dollars.
I have detailed the entrance fees and activity prices in my Places to Visit article. ; For Night Safari, which is one of the most expensive but indispensable, will you buy a safari only or a combined ticket such as Bird Park + River Safari + Night Safari, try to decide and check the ticket price.. According to preference, it will be in the range of 20 – 50 Euros. For Sentosa Island, decide roughly what activities you want to try and check ticket prices. Depending on the number and type of activities, it is likely to cost up to 50 Euros.
If you are interested in food and beverage, of course, there are many different flavors you can try. According to the restaurant, a single meal starts from 5 Euros and goes to infinity
If you prefer the famous Orchard Road for shopping in Singapore it will be expensive; head to Chinatown and Little India for cheap shopping.
Singapore nightlife can also be said to be similar to eating and drinking, prices depending on preference it will change a lot. When you go to Clarke Quay, you should check the entrance fees and the prices inside and choose the clubs and pubs that fit your budget.
How much did you spend When I first went to Bird Park and River I didn’t buy the safari tickets, I only did the Night Safari and couldn’t spend money on anything because of the huge crowd on Sentosa Island. How much did the Singapore-Bali-Malaysia trip cost my second trip? I detailed it in my article.
I didn’t eat at expensive places. At night, I had a beer or two in average places. Bought a few souvenirs, clothes and creams. After all, I spent around 150 Euros on my first trip, excluding airfare and accommodation, in three days.
