Laodikeia Ancient City
I went to the Laodikeia Ancient City, which is 6 km away from Denizli, without knowing that I would love it so much and that it would be among my ‘most’s, but from the first moment I entered I realized that I would love it.. Spread over an area of 5 square kilometers, Laodicea has an important place in the Christian world.. One of the first 7 churches of Christianity is located here and the city was also used as a holy pilgrimage center.. Our favorite place here is the mosaics inside the church and the glass terrace just behind the Laodicea Temple.. It feels amazing when you have history at your feet and you can see it so clearly..
Among the important and surviving structures of Laodikeia, Anatolia’s largest stadium, 2 theaters, 4 bath complexes, 5 Agora, 5 Nympheums, 2 Main Entrance Gates, Parliament Building, Temples, churches and a monumental street.
Denizli Ufo Museum
Places to visit in Denizli I think the most unusual point of the list is Denizli Ufo Museum. World’s 4th. International UFO Museum serves adventure and science fiction lovers in Denizli. Animations such as flying saucer, mutation creatures and alien abductions are quite interesting.
In addition to the simulation shows, the museum also offers information on the history of UFOs.. If you want to have an extraordinary experience, you can visit the UFO Museum.
The museum provides free service to visitors. So there is no entry fee. The museum opens at 09:00 and closes at 18:00 on all days except Mondays.
Denizli Cloth Doll House Museum
The historical Balcı House, restored by Denizli Municipality, as Folkloric Doll House at the service of travelers. More than 500 rag dolls made by retired teacher Zeynep Karaaslan are exhibited in the museum, which is the only one in Turkey.
There is also a cafe here.. There are breakfast and different eating and drinking alternatives. If you have time in Denizli and want to see a different museum, you can add this place to your list.
Denizli Cable Car – Bağbaşı Plateau
Places to visit in Denizli have a variety to appeal to every traveler. There are ancient cities, forests, travertines and waterfalls. Now let’s come to the weekend escape point of Denizli people.. I think Denizli Bağbaşı Plateau is the closest option for those who live in the Aegean and long for the land.. If there is an opportunity to go on a weekday, it will definitely be more secluded, because it was packed on the Sunday we went.
Here you go to the top with a pleasant journey by watching the view of Denizli by cable car.. Cabins are for 8 people and 8 people are required to board.. You are 1500 meters above in a 7-minute journey. Where you get off the cable car, there is an establishment where you can eat and drink and observation terraces.. There are free shuttles to Bağbaşı Plateau from here.. There are constant departures both on the way and on the way back, you never wait.
If you ask what to do in the Bağbaşı Plateau in winter, you can stay in the bungalow houses, eat sausage and bread, and buy souvenirs from the stands.. Since there is a lot of snow, you can have a drink and warm up in cafes and restaurants after fun activities such as snowballs and snowmen.
Places To Visit Around Denizli
Hierapolis Ancient City
Hierapolis Ancient City, Cleopatra Pool, Hierapolis Archaeological Museum and Pamukkale Travertines are in the same area.. Museum cards can be issued at all entrances to Pamukkale.. Considering that the museum card fee is more affordable than the entrance fee, it makes more sense to issue a museum card, of course.. It is necessary to allocate a minimum of 4-5 hours here in order to walk around properly.. For those who are thinking about which door to enter and what route to follow, my personal opinion is that you should enter through the South Gate in order to visit the area more easily.. After entering the area, following the path on the right side, visiting the Hierapolis Ancient Theatre, Octagon Church and other structures, and then proceeding as the Cleopatra pool, Hierapolis Archeology museum and Travertines is the most logical way to visit this place.
If you started your tour in this order, the first building you will see is the Hierapolis Antique Theater. If you are going for the first time and you have not seen the photos before, you are likely to be fascinated, let me tell you.. Hierapolis Ancient Theater is one of the rare ancient theaters that have survived to the present day in its most solid form.. It is one of the important ancient theaters that must be seen with an incredibly magnificent stage building, mythological reliefs and sitting area.. If you’ve breathed on the steps of the theater, took lots of photos and tested its incredible acoustics, let’s get up Let’s visit other ancient ruins in the vicinity (Sekizgen Church) and go down.
<
Cleopatra Pool
I don’t know if there is a place as different as Cleopatra Pool for an extraordinary swimming experience. Being in the healing waters in a 23-year-old history is a moment you should experience when you come to Pamukkale.. This ancient pool. 7. It emerged with the collapse of the columns of the Ancient City of Hierapolis into the pit formed in the earthquake in the 16th century..
The healing waters of the ancient pool have a constant temperature of 36 degrees in summer and winter and are believed to be good for many ailments such as heart, rheumatism and skin diseases.. There is a restaurant in this section where you can eat and drink, but let’s say that the prices are a bit high.. For this reason, I recommend you to take food and drink with you.
The fee you pay when entering Pamukkale or the museum card includes only watching this place.. So if you want to swim in these healing waters, you have to pay a fee.
Hierapolis Archaeological Museum
You will see the Hierapolis Archeology Museum on the way out of the Cleopatra pool to the travertines. With the Museum card, you can go here for free.. In fact, the place you will visit is the Roman Bath, one of the largest structures of the Ancient City of Hierapolis.. You can see sculptures, theater finds and many more in the building, which has been used as an archaeological museum since 1984.
Pamukkale Travertines
Pamukkale it is such a place that it offers you many things at once such as history, natural beauty and culture.. After visiting the Hierapolis Ancient Theater and Archeology Museum, we encounter a beauty that nature offers us.. Pamukkale, a natural wonder integrated with Denizli in our memories… At the top of the list of places to visit in Denizli. You understand better how lucky we are to have this beauty in our country, when you see the tourist groups from the Far East visiting Pamukkale..
Pamukkale is on the UNESCO World Heritage protection list. For this reason, it can be visited within certain precautions.. For example, it is forbidden to walk with shoes on travertines.. For this reason, it is useful to take a bag or a bag where you can put your shoes..
We had the opportunity to go to Pamukkale once in the summer and in the winter.. It was incredibly hot when we went in the summer and unfortunately we forgot to take sunscreen and a hat.. At the end of the day, we barely made it home with the sun on our heads.. The second negative side of Pamukkale is that it is overcrowded in the summer, it is so crowded that you have to wait in line even while walking, a hand and a head appear on our right and left in every photograph we take.. The people in the Cleopatra pool are as crowded as they can stand, let alone swimming!
If you are going to go in the summer despite all this, choose the weekdays if possible. Don’t forget to take a hat and sunscreen with you.. Since the options for eating and drinking are limited and the prices are high, go with a supply in terms of food and drink.. Even if the weather is cold when you go in winter, it will be very enjoyable to warm up in the 36-degree thermal waters of the Cleopatra pool.. Not being overcrowded and being able to walk around cool instead of being overwhelmed by the heat are among the advantages
Karahayit Thermal Springs
Places to visit in Denizli include thermal waters that shape tourism. Karahayıt Thermal Springs is one of the richest regions of our country in terms of thermal springs.. The temperature of the unique red colored healing thermal water and thermal mud that comes out of its main source in all seasons of the year is 58 ºC. The water in the hot springs is a unique source of health with its rich minerals.
There are many diseases that thermal waters treat with bathing and drinking water.. Those who want to benefit from these healing waters can find healing by staying at the touristic facilities in Karahayıt.
Tripolis Ancient City
Tripolis Ancient City Denizli is one of the important historical values of our list of places to visit. In the sources, it is stated that the first name of Tripolis was Apollonia and later it was called Tripolis in the Late Hellenistic period.. In addition, there are documents indicating that its first foundation was during the Lydian State.
Although the first foundation of Tripolis was during the Lydian period, the remains on the surface bear the architectural features of the Roman and Byzantine periods.. Tripolis Ancient City BC. South Falls
Güney Waterfall is located within the boundaries of Cinlere Mahallesi, Güney district of Denizli province.. The waterfall is one of the places worth seeing in Denizli in terms of its natural beauty.. This hidden paradise is a prime natural site. The waterfall is fed by the water sources coming out of the slopes of Cindere Mountain.
As the waterfall water pouring from a height of about 20 meters is chalky, limestone steps and various formations have occurred in the waterfall bed.. Drops of water dripping from the waterfall also created a dripstone cave, and there is a lake inside the cave.
Weeping Rock Waterfall
Weeping Rock Waterfall also known as Sakizcilar Asmaaltı Waterfall and Yesildere Waterfall. The waterfall pours from a height of 30 meters. Weaving is Babadağ’s most important source of income.. Weaving, which has a history of about six hundred years, has preserved its vitality by switching to semi-automatic looms and then fully automatic looms.. There are 19 factories and around 60 workshops in the district center.. Babadag Denizli, which is worth seeing with its colorful houses, deserves to be on the list of places to visit.

Çivril Işıklı Lake
Çivril Işıklı Lake Places to visit around Denizli has been mentioned frequently in recent years It is a natural beauty that I can’t wait to see.. Çivril Işıklı Lake, which has been given the status of Class A Wetland by the International Ramsar Convention, is among the places worth seeing.
The feature that makes this place so popular is the water lilies that bloom in spring.. Flowering time starts in May and lasts until September.. Boat tours are organized in the lake, the surface of which is covered with lotus flowers.. During the tour, which lasts approximately 1.5 hours, beautiful photographs and videos are revealed.
The lake also creates an important habitat for waterfowl.. Those who want to observe wildlife and biodiversity can also drop off here.
Çivril Tokalı Canyon
Tokalı Canyon stretches over an area of 20 km. The canyon, located on the Sandıklı-Çivril border of Akdağ, is entered from Kocayayla and exited from Gümüşsu District.. Local people defined the canyon as “impassable” and did not even try to cross it.. According to them, not even an animal could pass through here.. If there is a mysterious place in our country, would it not have a legend? According to the legend; In the Roman period, gold was hidden behind a gold-clad door in the narrowest and most impenetrable part of the canyon.. The amount of gold is 30 tons according to some, 40 tons according to others.. But a rock the size of a car fell from the hill and closed the door with the gold buckle.”
This canyon, known as impassable, was crossed for the first time by a team of 10 people on November 7, 1993.. Walking in some parts of the canyon, climbing in some parts.
