So much to say, so much to say about Cuba. Since the country itself is an interesting place, the things that a tourist who has traveled to Cuba will tell never end.. Well, then, of course, we also have something to say, but we decided to divide what we have to say into sections so that you don’t miss the details, at least you save it from there.

* The Matter of Accommodation in Cuba
Cuba is a country with a tropical climate because it is located in the Caribbean.. Therefore, it is a rare situation where the weather drops below 20 degrees.. When you approach it from this angle, it doesn’t matter when you go, because it will be hot no matter what.. For example, I was in Cuba in March and the weather usually didn’t drop below 28 degrees.. Just because the weather is hot doesn’t mean it won’t rain.. You should be prepared for this, but I have not personally witnessed such long-term rains, it does not reach a disturbing dimension for those who do not like rain unless they are at home.
If there is a more important point than when to go, what is it? no time to go. ‘Cause there’s this thing called storm season. As in every country in the Caribbean, such situations can occur from time to time in Cuba.. The probable hurricane period for Cuba is known as August to October. If you don’t want to go and mess it up at that time, if you don’t want to be a documentary material for Discovery Channel, it would be a more logical choice for you and your fans to choose other date ranges.
– Disclaimer note: There will definitely be a storm in the storm season. Of course, there is no guarantee that you will be satisfied with the tsunami.. However, since this period is the least preferred period in terms of tourism, it can also be considered as a dangerous method of making your holiday in Cuba the cheapest.. If the weather conditions do not deviate, you can make this holiday a little cheaper, which can be quite expensive.. Still, there is no need for an attraction.. If you want to celebrate a date like May 1 happily without being exposed to pepper spray, water cannon and rubber bullets, the ideal place to go is of course Cuba, the heart of communism.. You get goosebumps when you think of the crowd and enthusiasm in Revolution Square.. If you decide to go with a tour, I should add that tours are a little more expensive during this period.
I answer, everything you can’t “wear” in Turkey and your most comfortable shoes. It’s sad but true, a fashion blogger who thinks that if you don’t live in a summer area or if they cut my ass off, I’ll wear whatever outfit I want, even if it’s -10 degrees, it doesn’t matter if it’s the season or the perverts whose circuits are burned by suppressing their sexuality because of prohibitions. If you are not, it can be difficult at times to dress the way you want in Turkey.. But in Cuba no one cares about it. When you consider the heat, it is obvious what to wear.
The issue of shoes is important.. Because if you want to know Cuba, you will walk a lot.. When you get tired, hop on a Bicycle Taxi (the means of transportation where you sit at the back of a bicycle driver) or Coco Taxi’ (the transportation vehicle where you sit on the coconut-like part behind a motor) and go wherever you want. of course you can. However, it is best to travel on foot and discover this country, which is almost a paradise for photographers, by getting lost in its streets.. Enough.
Transportation in Cuba
We came to the troublesome issues about Cuba. Going to Cuba is a tough job, but it’s nothing to be afraid of.. No one flying to Cuba from airline companies in Turkey. As far as I have researched, there are two companies that can provide you with the smoothest/comfortable flight to reach Cuba from Turkey; Air France and KLM. Write in a corner of your mind that you will have to spend a minimum of 1900 TL or more for these.
-If you have the chance to determine your date range a few months in advance, the tickets will be cheaper.
A flight that proceeds under normal conditions, where you transfer once, takes approximately 14-15 hours.. For example, when you fly with Air France via Paris, it takes 4 hours from Istanbul to Paris, and about 10-11 hours from there to Havana. , maybe you can find a slightly cheaper ticket. But in such a case, you’re more likely to take the 14-hour trip to 53 hours (I’m not exaggerating) or fly in lousy food and harsh conditions.. Are we so sick of He Air France’s food? No. But it’s better than the chips they give on domestic flights in America, right?
-The issue of transportation to Cuba is the biggest expense you will make on your visit to Cuba.. You have the opportunity to get it cheap on everything else.. That’s why you have to spend some money on this part, unfortunately.
-If you want to cross between cities in Cuba, there is a reliable bus company that you can use and will take you to every point; Viazul. You can make your reservations online in advance by clicking here.
-At this point, let’s add that there is more useful information about transportation in our Individual Cuba Travel Planning guide, which is also much more up-to-date.
Cuba Accommodation in Cuba
You have two options for accommodation in Cuba. You will either stay at the hotel or at Casa Particular.. To evaluate both of them with their pluses and minuses;
Hotel: If you stay in a hotel in Cuba, even if it is in other countries, “Is this an advantage?” There may be some advantages that you would say, but that will turn into a privilege from time to time because you are in Cuba.. In Cuba, where it is not possible to find internet anywhere other than Havana, you can provide internet access in some hotels in Havana.. But of course paid. (5 CUC for half an hour) Apart from this, you are not likely to experience problems such as the lack of toilet paper or soap, which turns into a big problem from time to time, especially in the toilets you will use outside, if you stay at the hotel.
–Havana’ If you are going to stay in , you can choose Hotel Nacional or Melia Habana. Nacional is quite famous and has been around for years, so it’s not cheap, around 108 euros per night. Melia Habana, on the other hand, provides all kinds of services that can be provided in a good hotel, although it does not seem like an advantage because it is 20 minutes from the center of Havana.
–You will stay in Varadero, in my opinion, there’s no point in being close. Because Varadero is a ridiculous place other than the beauty of the ocean. Think of it like a giant hotel animation city. But if you say I will stay anyway, you can choose Tryp Peninsula. Here is the holiday village we know.
Casa Particular: If you want to stay in the same house with Cuban people, being involved in a local life and staying at one point in the city, what you need to do is a Casa Particular’ stay in. If you stay in these houses, which are also very safe as they are under government control, your holiday will be cheaper and you will have the opportunity to meet new, local people.. In some casas, “I will come around 8pm, will you prepare me dinner?” You can even make requests like this, because that’s what these people do.
-staying at Casa Particulars in Cuba is a pretty popular thing.. Therefore, especially if you are going during a busy period, it is highly likely that you will not find a place in a cracked-down casa.. Considering this, it is useful to guarantee your accommodation before you go.. If the only thing you know in Spanish can’t go beyond saying “Hello, where is the toilet” and if you don’t want to panic, “how are we going to tell these guys about our problem from miles away, it’s WRONG on the phone”, let’s offer an alternative solution; You can take a look at this site, which is run by Turks living in Cuba (we didn’t know if it’s a business, it tastes like home after all) and where you can arrange Casa Particular in different parts of Cuba.
-Casas are different. remember that it is. If you are staying with a family, you are more likely to use the shared bathroom with them.. If you are going to have your own private bathroom, you are expected to pay more.
– Prices can range from $ 30 to $ 70 per night in the houses. Let’s add that there is much more up-to-date and useful information in our Accommodation article.
What to Eat in Cuba?
Not much if you don’t find the right places in Cuba. It is unlikely that you will come to the point where you will say “I wish I could eat Cuban food”. You have to go to pinpoint places, we will also explain it in detail in our Cuban food and beverage guide, better not be limited to what we have explained below. You will encounter a cuisine mainly seafood and chicken in Cuba.. Of course, there is also red meat and pork, but other products are in the majority.. Don’t be prejudiced because Ayhan Sicimoğlu says “There is no Cuban cuisine”.. (You’ll get close, obviously) As I said, if you go to the right places, you can find some pretty good things.
-Tropical fruits are all very good, consume them as much as you want when you find them in abundance (For example, papaya, pineapple and on the streets, whose name I can’t quite grasp, green outside and pink inside, which you will see sold). Especially after drinking your coconut water, don’t forget to cut off the top, it’s incredibly delicious.
-I’ll give you something average about the prices, keep in mind:
- Water: 1-2 cuc
- Drinks prices: around 3-4 CUC
- Meals: between 10-20 CUC (depending on where you eat)
- Coffee: 0.75-1.5 CUC between
– Let me list a few places where you can eat relatively good food so you don’t go hungry:
