A few colorful streets, lots of bikes, happy people, the combination of sincerity, nature and style city life, the best of all, lots of Hygge! I am writing these lines for Copenhagen, to which I have given the title of “my favorite city in Europe” with all my heart.. For a wonderful trip, let’s teleport to Denmark and read my Copenhagen Travel Guide..
I have traveled to so many European cities, you came out differently Copenhagen..
Before we start, would you like to subscribe to my Youtube channel subscribe and browse a lot with all my vlogs?
How Many Days to Visit Copenhagen?
The ideal is to have 3 full days to visit Copenhagen. You can easily fill it even if it takes 4 days.. Because after all, there is a Tivoli Park truth! You are in a city that is home to one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. If you have a Schengen Visa, go and think about the roads! Otherwise, know that you cannot get an extremely easy and long visa from Nordic countries like Denmark, maybe you want to plan a trip like Italy and France before.
Which Season to Go to Copenhagen?
As someone who had an incredibly enjoyable time in Copenhagen on a sunny May, I can say that please schedule your trip like late Spring or early Autumn, don’t go to the Nordics in winter. It would be very nice in the summer, but maybe a little more crowded. As someone who has been to Scandinavian countries in winter, I am very happy with my decision to go in May.. The weather is directly proportional to your love of the city in northern countries, remember!
Where to Stay in Copenhagen?
Neighborhoods to stay in Copenhagen Norrebro, Osterbro , Vesterbro. But know this that you can stay in any neighborhood after you have a bike on your trip to Copenhagen.. We rented a house for 500 TL per night by making Airbnb in Norrebro, the place of immigrants, which is relatively cheap.. Yes expensive! Accommodation in Copenhagen is too expensive! For this reason, you can consider Airbnb or Couchsurfing instead of a hotel.. click to see our house.
Transportation Equals Cycling in Copenhagen
Copenhagen, the perfect city where you can easily reach the city center from the airport’ You can find yourself in the center, at the Norreport station in 15-20 minutes using a single metro.
When I realize that we bought tickets from the ticket machines on the way from the airport to the city and then got on the train without having the ticket read, I am ashamed to say that I did not buy a ticket on the way back. we came to the airport for free. Of course, there is a big penalty if we get caught, but our crazy hearts acted as vagrants when they saw that there was no control.. Full 3rd world country perspective! (embarrassed)
In Copenhagen, HERE TO hire a bike for transportation because this city has 2.5 bikes per person and why one of them? you will not be you If you follow my advice and rent a bike in this city, you will increase the quality and experience-oriented of your trip by 500%!
We rented our bikes for 75 Krona (DKK) per person per day from the bike shops you can see on the road and on the trail.. In May 2018 exchange rate, this was equivalent to 60 TL.. We did not take the bus or the subway even once, we went all over the city.. Moreover, since the cyclist uncle was closed on Sunday, our bike was left with us for free for the 3rd day. If you say you can’t use a bicycle, daily metro tickets are around 80 Krona.. And lastly, if you rent a bike, remember the rules are very strict.. Raise your hand at turns and signal, never run a red light. Otherwise, there is a fine of around 2000 Krona.. If you draw a bicycle path on Google Maps, you will see that alternative routes are very easy and fast.
Copenhagen Travel Budget – Is Copenhagen Expensive?
While Euro is 5,50 TL As someone who set out with a love of travel in Copenhagen, I cannot answer this question as no! But let’s put the whole currency thing aside, yes, it’s still more expensive than most European countries because the North, because Scandinavia, because the Nordics, because the wealth is in space! However, I was much more tired in terms of cost in my trip to Sweden Stockholm, Iceland a few months ago, because at least in Copenhagen, there are many street food options that you can eat and drink relatively cheap.. I will explain all of them in the rest of the article and give affordable suggestions.

- Istanbul – Copenhagen Flight Ticket Pegasus : 430 TL per person
- Copenhagen Accommodation: 1000 TL for two persons 2 days whole house
- Copenhagen Transportation: 150 Krona 105 TL per person 2-day bike rental
- Copenhagen Food & Drink: 100 USD per person 3 full days
In summary, The cost of the entire Copenhagen trip for 2 people, 3 days, all-inclusive flight ticket, accommodation, food and beverage 3000 TL. I don’t think it’s bad for an overpriced city like Copenhagen.
A Few Information About These Places
- Hygge philosophy means wrapping life in a cozy, warm, sympathetic and happy concept! Even with your behavior towards people, you can live life with a Hygge head.. The Norwegians also have this term, but they do not apply it to daily life like the Danes.
- Carlsberg and Tuborg Danish beers. I’ve been a Tuborg fan since eternity!
- Beerbike.. We couldn’t do it because it was a little pricey, but I was heartbroken.
- Boat tours are among the activities that can be done.. The bulk ones are incredible touristic in my opinion, I didn’t want them. But a few people have turn the boat take them with them to eat and drink and hang out in picnic mode, they’re amazing. Of course, experience equals money money money!
- Skol here “Cheers!”
- The toy Legos belongs to Denmark and has even surpassed Barbie, the best-selling toy in the world, with the latest Lego movie.
Places to Visit in Copenhagen
Below, I will tell you the places we visited in the order we visited, with the easiest route. If you still want to see its location on the map, you can download and mark the Ulmon map before your trip and explore the city easily.
Our Excursion Program: 1 Day Tivoli, 1 Day Free Walking The tour is under the title of 1 Day Other.
I have a golden recommendation that will allow you to tour Copenhagen in the most effective way listening to the city’s story! I’ve never heard of it or read it anywhere.. Exploring Copenhagen’s city center on a free 2.5-hour walk with the Free Walking Tour, which I joined completely by chance, was one of the best things I did on this trip.. I have participated in Free Walking Tours in Moscow and Budapest before, so by comparison, Copenhagen is a very convenient city for this.. Make sure to take advantage of this tour, which departs in front of the City Hall at 11:00 every day. As we learned by narrowing the people there, the umbrella guides standing in front of the stairs are better than the ones in the middle of the square, let me tell you!
Tivoli Park, which you can see right across City Hall, is “I LOVE” when read backwards. IT”, which explains it all Tivoli is not just a park, it is the oldest entertainment center in the world. Even Walt Disney was inspired by this place and founded Disney.. There are many restaurants inside for eating and drinking, from time to time very famous names such as Lady Gaga give concerts.. The environment seemed very authentic to me because it is old compared to other amusement parks, which makes it different.. For example, the wooden roller coaster controlled by the mechanic by hand! We had one full day of fun here, so glad we went!
The 120 Krona you will pay to enter Tivoli does not mean that you will get on the toys.. To get on the toys, you will either buy one ticket per toy inside, or you will receive a ticket for all unlimited toys.. The answer is definitely the second. You already get the unlimited ticket money when you get on the most beautiful 3-4 toys in the park.. The cost of this ticket is 230 Krona, or 30 Euros.. Yes, it’s expensive, but if you don’t buy it because it’s expensive like us, and if you attack because we have to get caught by the magic of the environment, know that we share the same feelings
Opens at 11:00. We didn’t wait in line but go early anyway, don’t miss the day. And some periods may be closed, so check the website before you go.
1000 POINTS RECOMMENDATION: Bags are not checked upon entry. Take your daily food from the 7/11 market around the corner and throw it in your bag, don’t waste a lot of money inside.
Let’s come to the day we discovered Copenhagen with a Walking Tour!
City Hall is the main square of the city.. It’s a pity that this building has gone through 4 fires, they copied and pasted the design of its current 5th state from Siena, Italy.. We can say that the famous street Stroget, which starts from this square and extends to King’s Garden, is the most famous place in the city, full of shops, quite crowded,. At the end of this street, there is the Rundetaarn tower, where everyone climbs to observe and see the city from the top.
You start to discover the visual festival of Copenhagen with the colorful streets you can enter and exit while walking on Stroget.. The most special of these streets is Magstraede, which also houses Scandinavia’s first concrete building.. You can reach Christiansborg Palace by leaving the street and walking between the canals!
. This place also burned 2 times and now 3. palace. Since we came to the parliament, let’s know the following: The Danish state provides free health and education, on top of it, it gives 700 USD per month to every university student.. Of course, there is a high-rate tax system that works well to ensure this welfare.. SCT is around 200% (which is why everyone has a bike), VAT 25%, Income Tax 40-70%. On this much tax, the Danes said, “Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to the state; Thursday, Friday we work ourselves.”
As you descend from Christiansborg to the city’s apple, postcard Nyhavn, you will see the Danish Theatre.. I have a story for you right here, too.. Famous author Andersen is Danish and always wanted to be a ballet dancer. For this reason, he does not come and settle in the hotel opposite the theater and leave the door, but his talentless, soprano voice is in adolescence.. It doesn’t happen, but they are fascinated by his stories and thus a writer is born.
Nyhavn’s fate has been truly man-made.. While this is a disreputable street where brothels were common in the past, the state is involved and all the buildings are painted colorfully.. There is a boat festival, but the bridge widens from the heat and the boats are stuck in the harbor.. Then they leave, saying that they are beautiful here! This area is now the frequent destination of people, New Harbor, that is, New Harbor. Where is the old port? Where the Mermaid statue is. This statue, which is both out of town and very unnecessary, has the title of the 3rd most disappointing thing in the world. We didn’t go, I think you should not go for nothing.
Amalienborg PalaceOne of the last stops of the Free Walking Tour! There are 4 identical buildings in a courtyard. One is the Queen’s, one is the Prince’s house, one is an outbuilding and one is a museum.. The queen’s chimneys are famous here because even though she is very old, an extra chimney system was installed in the house because it smokes like a chimney.. The Australian bride is the Prince’s wife, his love. She didn’t know that the man they fell in love with was the prince when they met, until one day the Prince told her that she might have to choose between Queen of Denmark and Australian Citizenship.
Nyboder‘s colorful streets are very close to here.. The ready tour is over, and you can take excellent photos with a short walk.
I didn’t go to Copenhagen’s botanical garden Botanisk Have but I heard it’s beautiful, maybe you can think of it.. The world’s most beautiful sandwich shop, Smagsloget, is located very close to this garden.. 2 people can get enough of 85 Krona.
Larslejsstraede There is Andersen’s House. Those who want to take a picture in the blue house can stop by.
The pink colored cinema Palads Biograferne is one of the city’s photographic spots.
Dinner at Vesterbro Shall we end this beautiful day with Mother for pizza, Mikeller for beer are the best choices. We also liked Kodbyens Mad but it was a bit expensive.
Another Day Program:
Odinsgade in Norrebro We started the day with a photo souvenir in front of the balloon girl on street and had our breakfast at Coffee Collective. Olufsveej is the most beautiful street here. When you do these three, you draw a complete triangle.
Superklein Park in Norrebro. Are those who want to pose in the lines here?
Copenhagen Street Food (Papiroen)If you want to taste all kinds of street delicacies installed in containers on a sunny day and have enough fun by the sea, run here! It used to be closer to the port, but then it was renovated and moved to its new location.. There was even an opening party for the new venue when we went! If you don’t have a bike, it’s like walking to your new place.
Christianshavn is a separate city in Copenhagen, even Free Town strong> ie Free City! It is allowed to sell and drink marijuana indoors. Of course, it is forbidden according to Copenhagen, but I don’t know, they don’t touch it.. The police or something is raiding, but still everyone is in their minds “Sit down, there is no sin” The struggle that a group of hippie youth started with a rebellion to live a free life today has turned into a cool home that does not consider itself in the European Union! It’s time to say goodbye to Copenhagen.. I loved it so much!
