In the beginning of September, my way fell to Cappadocia, which is considered one of the most special regions of the world with its rich historical and cultural heritage.. With its natural beauties and mystical atmosphere, this beautiful place of Anatolia, which is romantic in all seasons, is always good for people.. In Cappadocia, one of the must-see places for everyone who loves to travel and explore, this time I stayed at the Museum Hotel, Turkey’s first fairytale hotel with the title of Relais & Chateaux.
The Museum, which started to host its first guests 10 years ago, is a unique place that offers comfort and luxury together as the first museum concept hotel of our country.. Located on the slopes of Uçhisar Castle, the Museum is accompanied by valuable and priceless antiques from its reception to its rooms, from its garden to its corridors, while at the same time you are satisfied with the peace of nature with peacocks, pigeons and turtles.
The hotel’s 30 rooms, 23 of which are caves and 7 of which are stone, are each decorated with different authentic features and all have small museum sections.. I stayed in the Divan room, which overlooks the beautiful view of Uçhisar, and is decorated with Ottoman details, with its long sofa and a mini pool in which sweet goldfish swim; you can share the same room with a finely embroidered Ottoman caftan that adorns your wall or exhibits the historical artifacts unearthed during the construction of the hotel.. These antique artifacts, each of which is registered in the Nevşehir Museum, belong to the private collection of the hotel’s founder, Omer Bey, which he collected from the Ottoman, Seljuk, Roman and Hittite periods over the years.. Anyway, the concept of the hotel was born with the desire to exhibit these works.
One of the best things about being here You can enjoy the colorful balloons that start to rise as of 6 am from the terrace of the hotel.. For the balloon tour, which has become a classic for Museum guests, you can start the day early like me and take your place on the terrace and immortalize the moments when the balloons meet the sky with your photos.. Aside from enjoying the heated stone pool of the hotel, which bears traces of the Roman period, for the rest of the day, while the sun has not yet risen, it is also a pleasure to pamper yourself by lying down against the valley and fairy chimneys in the Wellness room in the afternoon, and to experience the sunset at the Indigo Sunset Bar with a glass of wine prepared from the vineyards of the Museum. alternative. Since the stone pool is heated, it is possible to swim while it is snowing.. It’s like going to the Museum in winter.
The museum’s Turkish and world The cuisine of Lil’a, a ‘fine dining’ restaurant that combines the flavors of the cuisine, is entrusted to Michelin star chef Murat Bozok.. The alternatives in the menus prepared by Bozok are offered to the guests with organic and fresh products collected from the hotel’s own gardens.. The more natural the breakfast is, the more traditional the meals are, and of course, decorated with modern details.. In this restaurant, old tastes of the region such as koftür and pan kebab, which are about to be forgotten, turn into special recipes of world cuisine, it is strongly recommended not to return without tasting.. Moreover, your gourmet pleasure is accompanied by the breathtaking view of Cappadocia.
The ‘living’ view of the region I would like to remind you that art is always next to you in the ‘museum’ concept hotel.. You can watch the ‘Art in Museum’ exhibition, which started in May under the leadership of ARMAGGAN Art&Design, and includes inspiring mixed works by 24 contemporary artists, in October at the hotel.
One final note; If you happen to be at TAV Airports in October, you can read the short version of the article in The Gate magazine, which you can get from the free stands in the field.. I am sharing a few more pictures below so that you can get to know the Museum better and see how the beauties it offers you are reflected on the camera..
