I came to Akyaka a year ago and even decided to settle in Akyaka when I got old, but I couldn’t canoe in Azmak Stream.. As the last stop of my Aegean tour, I choose to canoe in Azmak Stream.. If you are going to Akyaka from Bodrum, you should take the coastline.. It’s really beautiful.
Don’t forget to follow me on my instagram account. I tell a lot in stories and highlights

Akçapınar Village Canoe and Crazy Bees
Azmak Stream can also take boat tours through Akyaka, but I’m after a canoe tour from Akçapınar Village. Cooperative organizes canoe tours in Akçapınar Village. The fee is 40 Lira per person.. As I arrive at Akçapınar Village in the evening, we start the canoe tour.. They need to give you a life jacket. The captain with whom I went to the canoe did not give it to me. They have to follow you with a motorized boat while you canoe.
I take pictures while rowing on the one hand.. I’m so happy that I can’t explain. Every time I stop rowing, I hit a shore, but I save myself. While I was taking a photo again in a wide area, the boat that was supposed to follow me behind me leaves me and takes the lead.. I’m beaching again. I feel a pain in my armpit when I try to push myself with the paddle like I did before. I think the thorn has sunk. It hurts like that.
There are no thorns when I try to pull it out with my hand, I’m holding a bee between my two fingers.. I am suddenly attacked by dozens of bees. I see the boat is far ahead. It happens in seconds that these. I don’t remember ever yelling for help so much in my life.. I have a phone in one hand and a gopro in the other.. water reddish mud color. The bottom is not visible. I can’t jump into the water.
I saved myself from the bees when the boat came back.. Today, I am a person who dived into the nest of red bees, fought with a shovel, and was bitten by dozens of bees screaming.. My right side, my arms, my back are aching all over.. I have a bee allergy but these are red bees. The captain says “nothing will happen”. We tie the canoe to the boat when the captain says we have to go to the Little Amazon and plow through the mud there.. We’re going to the Little Amazon at full speed. As we go, we pass like lightning over the destroyed historical bridge that I dream of seeing. I don’t know how I saw him when he was dying.
Azmak Stream Little Amazon
So this is how it will be Little Amazon. I jump right into the ice cold water. so cold. It’s already evening. We remove mud from the bottom and drive. The pain subsides a bit, but I don’t know at that moment, it will hurt for days, it will swell and itchy like crazy.. When we counted later, all we could see was 16 bee stings on my back.. His scars don’t seem to go away.
When the cold waters ease my pain, I put on my mask and go out to explore under the water.. Years ago, I watched a diving documentary in Azmak Stream and dreamed of diving here ever since.. Of course I never imagined this. It was beautiful underwater just like I watched your documentary. Just as the water is muddy red where the bees attack, it is as clear here.. The captain says that the color of the water takes that color in summer, it is from plankton.. It seems to me that it is because of the traffic of the boats going back and forth.. If it was from plankton, wouldn’t the Little Amazon have that color too?
Azmak Stream Great Amazon
When my pain is relieved, we go to see the Great Amazon. It’s evening now. The water looks scary now. Not very inviting for swimming. I’m climbing on top of the fallen tree over the water. Surrounded by reeds. we are in a forest. Everywhere is lush. just so desolate. It’s also good to go earlier.
The captain takes me to a place called Shipbuilding. In the past, Ottoman ships were built there.. His name is so. This is a place with grass at the waist level when you jump from the boat.. We swim in the sea in the warm water and the beam of the full moon. I’m a little nervous about being with someone I’ve never met. i want to go back. We return to the village, twisting through the reeds in the moonlight.. The stream gets narrower as you approach the village.. The lights of the house right next to the creek look like a fairy tale.
Blue Crabs of Azmak Stream
There is blue crab in Azmak Stream. The captain asks if I want to eat. Of course I want. Says you can set it up the next evening. I’m going to Sedir Island the next day. If you want to read my article on Sedir Island, click here. On the way back, the captain calls and says the crabs are ready.
I’m going back to the village for crab for dinner. Crabs are being cooked in the restaurant right next to the bridge.. Meanwhile, a small fire breaks out in the Azmak Stream. I say “wherever I go, there’s a fire”. As soon as I left, there was a fire in Didim.

Crabs cooked in butter are incredibly delicious. I’m learning how to open. Normally hunting is prohibited.. I can’t find out where they got it or how they caught it.
Nasty Purposes Under the Name of the Moonlight Tour
The captain offers me to go on a moonlight tour, but I’m so tired. I will leave early the next morning.. I want to sleep but he insists so much. It’s midnight and it doesn’t seem very safe to me. After giving up a few times and being indecisive, he says, “If you’re going to write, write it right.”. This makes me think. I say “just half an hour then”. And they disappeared into Azmak Stream in the dark. I think someone would say that if they looked behind us.
The coolness of the night is so good for my aching and itchy arms.. I’m inflated like a balloon. When we come to the middle of the Azmak Stream, the captain offers to spend the night in a place where they hide the boats in the reeds.. I was attacked by a bee the day before.. What reeds? with a man I’ve never met. Turns the engine off after a while.. I ask why you stopped. I’m bawling and being officially harassed. I can’t remember ever being so scared in my life.
I’ve never been faced with such an outrageous proposal in my life.. I’m yelling for him to take me back right away. I think he was afraid of me too. When I start the engine and come back, I sit at the top with my back turned. If he didn’t agree to come back, how would I jump into those dark muddy waters, how to swim in the widest part of the stream, how the reeds were full of snakes, turtles, stories of people bitten by turtles, what do I think?. I’m so angry. Minutes don’t pass. He sings a song!!!
As soon as I reach the village, I jump off the boat before I tie the boat.. I never looked behind me again. I’m running in case he comes after me. I don’t know how I got to the car, how I got out of that village. I know I’m trembling, but. I don’t know why I didn’t go directly to the gendarmerie or the police.. The only thing I thought was that people would blame me for agreeing to go at that hour, but I was not quite wrong.. Later, I learned from the cooperative that there is no such thing as a moonlight tour.. I can’t believe a man with a grandson bag would do such a thing.. This is the article I have the most difficulty writing in my life.
I remember the conversation I had with my friend a few days ago.. “Spring, this world is not full of good people as you think.. stop being polyanna. Take care of yourself. “. I couldn’t…
Lessons I’ve Learned From My Experiences:
- You want a life jacket, even if they don’t provide it.
- Don’t get too close to the reeds.
- Let someone else take your picture. Otherwise, let no one else be.
- If the boat that should follow you leaves you, stop it.. Tell him not to go.
- Learn about all tours. Don’t go on tours that don’t exist, especially in the middle of the night.
- Every person you meet on the road may not be a good person.. Don’t trust!!!
