ANTYLOPE CANYON
Antelope Canyon, located in the small town of Page, Arizona, USA, is a natural wonder created by wind and water eroding over the years.
Upper Antelope Canyon or Lower Antelope Canyon Is Antelope Canyon?
First of all, let me tell you that almost all of the information you’ll find on the internet, most blog posts will take you to the Upper Antelope Canyon’ known as Upper Antelope Canyon it will redirect to strong>. So much so that, as a result of my first research, the point I came to was that if I wanted to take perfect photos, I had to go to the Upper Antelope Canyon, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to photograph those dreamlike scenes.. I looked, all reservations for Upper Antelope are full, I said, I can’t go, I’ll give up.. Here I am summarizing the whole event so that you do not get into this situation.
- There are 2 Antelope Canyons as Lower and Upper.
- Both of them can be visited through tour companies, you cannot enter by waving your hand.
- Guides at tour companies Navajo natives . During the trip they give plenty of information about both the canyon and its traditions. We were incredibly pleased with our guide, Tyler, because he took very good photos of us during the whole tour, he took care of us, he had a very pleasant conversation.. We tipped 20 USD at the end of the tour (because the dollar was 4 TL), but I would like to give a lot more if I could.
- Both times are between 10:00 – 11:00 because the light enters the canyon best at those hours.
- You can tour the canyon in 1 hour, the price is 40 USD. If you join the deluxe tour for photographers, it costs 80 USD and you can enter it with a tripod.. Otherwise even Selfie Stick is forbidden. Great care is taken for protection.
- For most productive watches, especially these times, reservation is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to find! So, once your travel date has been determined, your first job should be to book these tours.
- The reason why Upper Antelope Canyon is so famous and why everyone is referring to it is that the most expensive photograph in the world was taken here. As I said, it’s almost impossible to make a reservation, as the photograph “Phantom” taken by Australian-born photographer Peter Lik broke a record by selling for $6.5 million.
- Per person with you 1 bottle of water would be very logical to go in because it’s so hot, you need it.
- I’m glad I chose sneakers as shoes I said because the inside is covered with red earth.. You can choose it for a more comfortable walk.
We couldn’t find a place to Upper Antelope Canyon, but we found Lower Antelope Canyon and I thought it wouldn’t be as beautiful as Upper Antelope Canyon until I went.. I was absolutely wrong and biased. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
We toured the Lower Antelope Canyon with Ken’s Tour company. My heart felt like it was going to explode as we waited at their office for the tour we had booked months in advance from here. When our tour time came, we walked to the starting point of the narrow canyon with a group of 10 people accompanied by our guide.. When I looked from above, I even admired the dazzling red sand that a paradise awaits me under it.
The entrance to the Lower Antelope Canyon is very steep and narrow.. When you carefully descend the stairs, magnificent nature embraces you.. This canyon, which has been eroded by wind and water over the years, is of extraordinary beauty.. There are climbing points inside for escape, as there is still a chance that the canyon will fill with water when it rains too much.. I move forward by rubbing my hands on the walls, as if every point I touch has a soul and a history.
We take hundreds of photos. Already guides guide us about iPhone and camera shots. It’s a fact that iPhone Live and Live Hot mode is the best option. Maybe you should try it in Black and White from time to time. I’ve seen that it produces better results than my iPhone camera, I always took it from it.. Our guide took our photos inside.. So photography is not a problem.. It is so beautiful that it comes out by itself, those perfect frames.
I can’t explain how happy I was when I came out of the canyon.. It was my dream for years, I wanted so much to see, to be there. I am so happy that my dream has come true!
HORSESHOE BEND CANYON
After leaving Antelope Canyon, we got in our car and set off for Horseshoe Bend.. As the name suggests, this Horseshoe canyon is also beautiful.. When we got there after a 15-minute drive, we learned that we had to walk for 15 minutes from where we parked the car.. Fortunately, we bought 1 Liter of water per person before we came, because without water, that road can never be walked in that heat.
When we finished the roads with red soil, a natural wonder again welcomed us.. The color transitions of Lake Powell are magnificent!
PAGE ACCOMMODATION
Because you have to be ready early in the morning to tour all these canyons, the night before Arizona’s You need accommodation in >Page. Predictably, prices can skyrocket as this small town is brimming with people visiting Antelope Canyon.. Don’t leave your hotel reservation here to the last minute, because you may not even find a place to stay, let alone the high price.
We stayed here at a roadside American-style motel called the Page Boy Motel.. It was the highest accommodation we paid in our entire Western America trip; We paid 130 USD.
We used Mexican food, which is my favorite cuisine, for our dinner and went to a place called El Tapatio. everything was amazingly delicious. Especially the big Margheritas!
Things we couldn’t do due to time constraints, but you might want to do:
- Canoeing in Lake Powell
- Transfer to Utah and admire Glen Canyon
- Drive up to Monument Valley and witness more natural wonders
