GAZİ FOUNTAIN-YENICE-CANAKKALE
A place in Yenice; Gazi Fountain. The fountain where Atatürk drank water. Edremit is located on the side of Kaz Mountains facing the sea, and Yenice is located on the back side. Yenice, a district of Çanakkale Province, is 90 km from Çanakkale and 110 km from Balıkesir. Yenice, which is the largest district of Çanakkale in terms of soil width, is also very fertile. As such, you can’t get enough of its red tomato paste, pink tomatoes, sage beans, and strawberries. The district, which has abundant forest areas, is very suitable for hiking, nature photography, paragliding, mountain biking activities.

Even the roadsides at the exit of Yenice are covered with plane trees. The plane trees planted on both sides of the road give the impression of passing through a tunnel. The first asphalt road of the Republic Period was built between Çanakkale and Balıkesir with digging shovel and human power. While Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was traveling to show the first asphalt road of Turkey to the Iranian Shah Riva Pahlavi, who visited our country in April 1934, he took a break at a fountain 9 kilometers from Yenice and chatted with the local villagers.
