Kaputaş Canyon is located in Antalya’s Kaş district.. In fact, Kaputaş Beach, located at the exit of the better known Kaputaş Canyon. Years ago, I went to Kaputaş Beach, fell in love, and then looked at the canyon over the bridge.. Since Kaputaş Canyon is not a place where you can enter, I had to look at it.. Afterwards, the extreme sports canyon I started brought me back to Kaputaş and a new discovery and a new adventure started for me.. Would you like to know what is in the mountains behind Kaputaş Beach? Have you ever opened the sea season in February? This article will not be an ordinary Kaputaş article.. Then I’ll start writing, you read…

Last year, I added an extreme sports canyon to my life, but after my injury, I had to take a mandatory break.. Part of my injury was on my knees because I fell in the cave, the other part was the nail breakage that I came out of the canyon unrelatedly.. As a result, since I couldn’t wear shoes for 3 months, the canyons were a dream for me.. Therefore, since May, I had not been able to do canyon sports for 8 months. So I’m untrained and in poor condition.

İct – Istanbul Canyoning Team
It all started when I received an event invitation in Ballıkayalar. I wanted to go and meet and discuss what we could do with each other, but I could not reach that day.. Erdal Yalçın, who organized the event, was also my friend on Facebook.. Everyone knew him as President Red Bag. Everyone knew, only I didn’t know. Be it my ignorance or my inexperience. Why are their names in English? I learned this first. Their names are in English so that they participate in canyon festivals abroad, they host canyoning athletes who come to Turkey from there, and for this reason they can be easily found abroad.. That’s why people like me can’t find it either.. I think I have complained a lot about this. There are 48 hours between attending their weekly meetings, meeting the group and setting off, none. It’s a decision that stems from both their posts on their Facebook page, their self-confidence, and the biggest reason I miss the canyons. When one is in the canyon, he says “what am I doing here”. After he leaves, he says “when and where again”. such a strange passion. Am I addicted to adrenaline?
Events are charged according to the sharing method.. After dividing all costs per person, a very small amount is added for the club.. Because, as an association, they started to bolt the canyons in Turkey at European standards.. They do this very costly and arduous job entirely on a voluntary basis.. That’s not their job.. This is something to be thankful for and grateful for all canyon athletes.. You entrust your life to a rope and a metal ring driven into the rock to which that rope is attached.
To participate in its events, simply click here to become a member of the site and check the events on the site from time to time. There is no fee to become a member of the site.. You can rent your equipment for a small fee.. If you really decide to do this sport, you will buy it later.
I Wonder Where I’m Going?
As a person of the last minute, I try not to question where and why I’m going when I leave Istanbul after following people I met a few days ago. I’ve never even heard of the canyon I went to. I didn’t have time to research.. We set out to enter Bozudere Canyon in Saklıkent, Fethiye.
On the way to Kaputaş Spring has come to my hometown on the way to Kaputaş
We are in February and the weather is cold. waters snow water. As someone who is very cold, I keep asking how to get into the water all the way.. Fear is of no use to death.. It also surprises me that other groups go to a canyon in winter, since normally other groups open the wet canyon season in May and finish it in October.. It turns out that ICT never closes the season.
On the way to Kaputaş
We wake up in Fethiye Saklıkent early in the morning.. The weather is windy, cold and misty. At the place where we will enter Bozudere Canyon, we descend and look at the water level.. The kind that the waters will take away. The group is talking among themselves. With the decision of their chairman, Erdal Hodja, we turn our route to Kaputaş.. My God, I’m so happy.
I was looking at the Kaputaş photos that fell on my page for a few days and sighed.. Now we are going to Kaputaş as I wanted.. I never wanted to enter Bozudere anyway.. Not if I don’t want to. So I’m the reason they can’t get in. It is very sad that we bump into a goat while passing through the villages on the way, but we have it treated at a veterinarian in the nearby villages and hand it over to its owner.
Kaputaş Beach
On the way to Kaputaş Beach via Kalkan, we pass through magnificent views. Years ago, I passed an evening and saw the sunset.. The weather is quite warm compared to February. Unbelievable. We don’t know how we got ourselves into the water. What does it mean to open the sea season in February? It’s like a joke.
The last time I came to Kaputaş Beach was five years ago.. At that time, this was a place completely alone with nature.. Then a facility was established here. Plastic sun loungers placed on the beach. I didn’t come back because I couldn’t stand it.. When you go down to Kaputaş Beach, the water boils from the bottom of the rocks on the right and the water is colder.. keep this in mind. If you are a cold person, choose the left side of the beach.
Kaputaş Beach opens the sea season in February
My new friends are extreme athletes and tough guys.. they are not cold. They immediately jump into the water and climb the rocks.. They’re jumping off the rocks. I don’t have water shoes to climb rocks. I’m fine with swimming. We still live in a lonely, untouched Kaputaş as before.. Wandering on the beach, collecting stones and listening to music. A few days ago I never could have imagined that I’d be here right now. Life is full of surprises. The sun sets so beautifully. It’s like a fairy tale.
Camping at Kaputaş Beach
Seasonally, the waves are crazy. We left our stuff at the facility above. Camping on the beach is a bit risky. When we wake up in the morning, we can find ourselves in the water. When I went to the facility above, everyone had already set up their tents and settled down.. I will sleep in a view overlooking Kaputaş, where I can see this wonderful beach when I open my tent.. What more do people want?
It is forbidden to use shampoo in the showers in Kaputaş.. Since it is forbidden to light a fire on Kaputaş Beach, we do the eating and drinking part in the facility.. It’s nice to see Kaputaş is under protection.. Brother Mehmet in the facility opens his kitchen to us.. Provides pan and oil for roasted potatoes. Sharing the groceries in her closet. I say “Let me come and work here in the season”. We aim to get up at 5 am and enter Kaputaş Canyon.. That’s why everyone goes to sleep at 9 o’clock. I hear the voices of young people coming to the beach in my sleep.
I, who am not used to going to sleep that early, wake up at 11:30 am, 1 am and then 3 am.. Then I say the phone time is wrong and look out of the tent.. It’s dark outside, the tents are standing. I’m afraid I’ll sleep and stay, everyone will leave and I’ll stay. Why? We’re up at 5 in the morning. We are having breakfast flying in the wind against the morning.
I say “Where are you going Bahar” in this cold. I say, but on the other hand, I’m flying flying. We pack in a hurry and hit the roads in the dark. When we go up in the dark, the stars above us are so beautiful. Another magnificent sight registered in my memory.. This year, I entrusted my memory with frames that I could not take photos of but will never forget.
The Endless Preparations Before Kaputaş Canyon
The entrance to Kaputaş Canyon, Antalya, Kaş – Kalkan and it was the fountain on the Bezirgan Village Road. We are 16 people and only three of them are women.. As such, we dress in the vehicle.. It’s very cold outside and there is a lot of wind. I’m grateful to be a woman. Get dressed, it’s not over. Scuba suit, scuba socks, boots, neck buf, head buf, helmet, landing belt, carabiner, descender, scuba glove, non-slip work glove… I’m tired of counting. This group does not use life vests. They do canyon sport in European standards. No months of training. If you want to enter the canyon, they take you and teach you directly in the canyon.. When I think of the stages I went through, I think about the friends I have gained and take solace.
We sweat in the car, we freeze when we go outside. I didn’t think to take my windbreaker. I wish he had come. Erdal Hodja gives me an umbilical cord.. (To keep myself safe) Without it, the canyon is inaccessible.. i have never used it before. My cheerful Erdal teacher is not very serious.. He told me before, “You can’t recognize me in the canyon. I am very serious. Now you’re talking but I won’t listen to you in the canyon. I’ll talk there. I’m trying not to be seen. I don’t have a habit of generating ideas and talking about things I don’t know.. I always do what I’m told.
What I call a piranha is a metal tool we use to get down and I forgot how to use it.. They use something else similar to piranha that they produce.. The appearance of jinn ali and spider man is something for me. After the group photo, Erdal teacher talks with me that Gülsün is the weak link and that we are brought forward.
Kaputaş Canyon
And finally we are on the way to Kaputaş Canyon
How is your Sunday in February? For example, after a late breakfast, with your coffee in hand, pulling the blanket in front of the TV and watching a good movie. Our market will be descending from 26 large and small waterfalls.. And bruise the icy waters. “I wonder if I should find other lighter hobbies for myself?” I say.
We start by descending a steep slope to Kaputaş Canyon.. No need for our headlamps. By the time we got ready it started to get light because. After a while, we find the creek and go for a walk.. My friends, with whom I studied in the same period, passed Kaputaş Canyon in September, when it was dry.. Normally, there is no water in this canyon during the summer months.. They told me but I forgot.
Kaputaş Canyon
At first, I think I fell into a creek walk again. After a while, we start the descents and I understand what anya is and what konya is.. I decided early. There are short descents at first, I do not have difficulty, but there are such steep waterfalls that I look down. “How do I get out of here, sir?” I say. “Didn’t you say you want to do sports?. Erdal says, “Here’s sports,” and laughs.. God gave me trouble. At first, after the short easy descents we passed, I came across 20, 25-meter waterfalls, a flowing water with great pressure, ice-cold water hitting my head… What’s wrong, Bahar?
Throw Me Out of the Waterfalls, I Deserved
My fear of heights doesn’t quite sound. Is it because I don’t have time to stop and think? Somewhere, I have to descend with my face towards the abyss, just like in Ayvaini Cave.. I say “I can’t get off”. Erdal teacher doesn’t look my age. I think he pushed it with his foot sometime. He pushed but held it with his hand so that I wouldn’t be swept away.. Like a mother bird that throws its young out of the nest so that it can fly on its own.. He both scored and provided my safety.
Kaputaş Canyon
If he had not done so, they would have waited for me there for a long time.. I still get horrified when it comes to my mind. My body, which has been lying down for months, is raw, out of condition.. I’m having trouble wiggling towards the end. We look forward to the stations set up in two places.. Waiting is not something we like very much.. Since it is windy inside the canyon, we start to feel cold every time we stay still.. I’m trembling hard. I’m talking about immersing myself in burning fires when I get out, and not coming out from under the blanket when I get home.
The flow of water is so high that a whirlpool forms after a waterfall descends.. He flipped and threw the first to land. They said, “Girls can’t pass through here.” Asiye is experienced. Let him smile and I are the weak link. We joke among ourselves “we are disabled, we are disabled”. Zipline set up inside the canyon for a few people like us. I ziplined before, but crazy water was not flowing over me.
We passed all the waterfalls one by one.. We passed through amazing landscapes. we are so cold. We feel sorry for the wild goat that fell into the canyon and died.. I was alone for a while. I couldn’t get off the stones. I thought I was going to die and stay like that goat. I even said it out loud to myself. Since the approach distance at the entrance and exit of the canyon was short, it did not taste good.. I die while entering and exiting the canyon more than crossing the canyon.
Kaputaş Beach welcomes us with a legendary sunset in all its splendor.. I am happily watching the sunset in the air of a tired, cold but war-winning commander.. I’m looking at a calm Kaputaş landscape as if there was no deafening turbulent waters just now.. It’s like we never struggled with those raging waters for nine hours. I don’t have a single limb that doesn’t ache, but I never regret it. After this article, those who go to Kaputaş beach will know what is in the mountains behind them and will definitely look back.
