In recent months, for some reason, I had a serious need to go to Iran.. When I told this to my friends, I heard what they were saying. However, as someone who has visited many different cities in 32 countries except Iran, it was heartbreaking not to see one of the most rooted civilizations in the world standing next to us.. Of course, perhaps the prejudices in my mind against Iran played a large part in this wait.. However, the invitation to Iran Shiraz blogger and social media phenomena event from THY’s agency in November was a very nice surprise for me.
My first impressions of this trip and my preliminary how my judgments have changed “Iran Shiraz Is Not As You Know It. Here are the Facts…” you can read in my article. In this article, more Places to visit and see in Shiraz, where to eat and drink in Shiraz, things to do in Shiraz and I have prepared a Shiraz Travel Guide that includes information such as strong>Where to stay in Shiraz. But I can’t help but say. It would be beneficial to spare at least 4 days for Shiraz, where we can spare 2 days.

About the History of Shiraz
Shiraz at the time of the Achaemenid Empire an established city. Achaemenid history BC. First Persian Empire dating back to 550s. However, Shiraz waited until the Sassanid period to become an important center.. He lived his best years during the Zend Dynasty (1747-1779).. Karim Khan of the Zend Dynasty, who made Shiraz the capital of Iran during this period, built very ostentatious buildings in Shiraz, just as Shah Abbas did in Isfahan.. The Prophet Himself. Declaring Muhammad (SAV) as the deputy, Kerim Khan named many of the buildings he had built as Vekil.
Places to See in Shiraz
Karim Khan Castle
Our first stop in Shiraz was Kerim Khan Castle. This is the house where Kerim Khan lived during his dynasty.. The castle, which is built on an area of 4 thousand square meters, has 4 castle bastions, each of which reaches a height of 14 meters.. One of them is tilted like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is said that 12 thousand workers worked during its construction.. This place was also used as a prison during the Pahlavi Dynasty.
The tile at the entrance of the castle tells about Iran’s legendary wrestler Rüstem killing a white giant.. When you enter the castle, a very beautiful garden, citrus trees in the garden and a pool in the middle like many Iranian structures welcome you.. When you enter the palace, the glasswork is enough to fascinate you.. Iran is really shouting to the world that it is one of the best in the world in glass art, in this and in many other structures that you will describe later.
Vekil Mosque
One of the most important works of art commissioned by Kerim Han. When you enter, a courtyard with a pool welcomes you again.. You can visit this place with shoes.. Because only the left part of the mosque is open to worship.. The remaining places are now used as museums.
Vekil Bazaar
As soon as you leave Vekil Mosque The historical bazaar of the city, built by Kerim Khan, is waiting for you.. This place resembles the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul with its labyrinth-like architecture.. I will explain more details about the historical bazaar in the shopping section in Shiraz.
Vekil Hamam
On the other side of Vekil Mosque, you can see the historical Vekil Mosque. waiting for the bath. Of course, this bath is different from our historical baths.. This place is used as a wax museum. So, don’t get into the dream that you’ll get tired after a nice trip here.
Shah Cerag Tomb
Although it’s called a tomb, don’t think about the tombs we have here.. Again, this is a terrific complex with a courtyard with a large pool.. When you first look from the outside, you hardly realize how impressive this place is.. Until you come in. This place is so impressive that if only this place were in Shiraz, you would still go to see it.
This is a very important place for Shiites.. The tomb of Sayyid Emir Ahmed, brother of Imam Reza, who is the 8th of 12 Imams, is located here.. The tomb takes its name from the nickname given to Seyid Emir Ahmed by the people.. Shah Jarag means Shah of Lights.
Women are required to enter by wearing a chador, as this place is very important religiously.. It is forbidden to take photos inside without permission.
Obviously, although I could secretly take a few photos in the courtyard, I couldn’t take those unique mirror-embroidered mosaics because people were praying inside.. Frankly, it’s impossible not to be fascinated by this view.
