Akyaka is like a hidden paradise in Gökova Bay. Akyaka and Azmak Stream were one of the places I always wanted to see but could not go to.. A diving documentary made in Azmak Stream was still among my favourites.. Akyaka, which I think is a place with natural beauties, made me fall in love with it and sent it like that.. When I got older, I thought I had found my place to live.
Don’t forget to follow me on my instagram account. I tell a lot in stories and highlights

First Sight of Akyaka
From the moment I entered Akyaka’, its different architecture surprises me.. I am very surprised by the houses we can see in the Black Sea, which are not seen in an Aegean town. You can see various examples of woodworking on the lower parts of the roofs and balconies.. I realize that I have come to a completely different place with the mountains in the back, the houses covered with bougainvillea in the front and the wide streets.. Since the season has not started, the streets are empty and calm. We are very happy when we find a nice apartment for ourselves in the bazaar.. The sea in the distance is visible from the window of our room.. The fruit trees in his garden come up to our window. Server Apart is in a location that can be found easily as it is right in the center and on the street.. Here, vehicles can stop on the main street for up to 15 minutes.. If you exceed this period, you pay a fee.. You can park your car free of charge in the parking lot behind the apartment.. Akyaka was quite crowded when I went during the season.
Akyaka Rock Tombs
In Akyaka, there is also the sign of Rock Tombs under the Women’s Azmağı sign.. Of course, you can’t go without seeing. It is right there at the end of the restaurants along Azmak Stream.. just by the side of the road. These Roman Rock Tombs. This Rock Tomb has only one column. This is an unfinished Rock Tomb. You do not pay any fees. There is an information sign. According to what is written on this sign, a closed chamber tomb was found during an infrastructure excavation in 2001.. It belongs to the Roman period and is the first and only chamber tomb found in this region without being opened or stripped until now.. At the entrance of the tomb, an inscription from the 2nd century BC reads, “Dear Menias, daughter of Eudoros, from Symbra, farewell.”
Seven different human skeletons were found in the grave.. Many works belonging to before and after Christ have been removed.. This means that it has been used by many people over the 600-year period.. Does this information just excite me? I wish I was there when that tomb was found or when it was opened. The ancient city of Idyma, which has a history of 2500 years, stands out as a must-see place with its historical beauties as well as the natural beauties of Akyaka.
Women’s River
The Azmak Stream is actually an underground river.. Akyaka is the place where it came to light. Here the water is boiling everywhere. Ducks, modern waters, restaurants along Azmak Stream.. nice this place is very nice. They call it “Woman’s Ripe”. On the way back, we take a break by the Azmak river.. Ice cold water is boiling everywhere. ducks are swimming. This is a calm and peaceful place.. They told us that Azmak Stream flows moderately and is not very deep.
We say let’s have something to eat at one of the restaurants near Azmak Stream.. Be very careful with the prices.. Inflating the account in such places is happening here and it is not pleasant at all.. When we object, they make some corrections in the price.. The places are beautiful, right by the river. Azmak Stream looks even more beautiful with evening lighting. Ducks come close to you. It grabs the bread you throw. Let no one know, no one hear, a voice inside me says. I wonder how crowded it is during the season.
Akyaka, Kitesurf
You can kitesurf here, but you can also train here. Akyaka is also the training area of kitesurf athletes.. They’re jumping and jumping on a vast beach but I can’t see it. Because there is no wind. Since the season has not started yet, the schools are not fully opened.. The environment looks great.. I picture you in the season. It should be chirpy. A beach full of athletes. There are also bars where they hang out in Akyaka.. People come here from all over the world to kitesurf.. I don’t know if I will be interested in this sport one day, but it seems like it exceeds my physical strength.. Who knows? Maybe I will.
Azmak Stream Canoe
You can take a boat tour from the center of Akyaka, but in my mind, the canoe tour that starts from Akçapınar Village, which is 10 minutes away from Akyaka. The boat tour will be light for this place. For this reason, we are going to Akçapınar Village, which is ten minutes from Akyaka.
The tree-lined lovers’ road we passed makes me so enchanted that I do not hesitate to sit in wet places and take pictures even though it has just rained.. It’s such a beautiful way. It’s really beautiful. I can say without getting tired. We came to the village, but the weather is a little cold. Spring has passed here. Black mulberry trees, peaches, lemons everywhere.. no one touches. I wonder why I see that everywhere is full of black mulberry trees. I have never eaten such a delicious flavored black mulberry, even from its branch.. When we say to the uncles passing by, “What a beautiful village you have,” they say, “Let’s give you a house.”
We go to the cooperative to make canoes, but the weather is quite cold.. Azmak Stream is cold. we can’t eat. We say we will come tomorrow morning, but of course we can’t go and it’s up to our next visit.. I really wanted to see the Little and Big Amazon. I think I found my place to live when I’m old. Akyaka is a great place. Green mountains in the back, Akyaka’s houses with unique paneled ceilings, Azmak river boiling from everywhere, the sea like ice.. one wonders what to tell. Akyaka and Azmak make me fall in love with him.
You can read what I experienced when I went back a year later, here. I didn’t imagine these when I said I’d be back again.
