PART 1 OF OUR BALKANS TOUR CLICK HERE FOR PLACES TO SEE IN PHILIBE AND SOFIA…
Although we have minor concerns about the SERBIA part of our Balkans tour by car, everything is going well.. We find Serbs to be understanding and very helpful. We depart from Sofia and arrive at the Bulgaria-Serbia border to reach Sights to See in NIS and BELGRADE. During the passport control, the Bulgarian police demanded bribes for a reason we can’t even understand.. I remember the trip to Bulgaria that I took with my ex nuclear family many years ago to see the land where my grandfather was born.. It’s been 25 years, but there is no improvement! We squeeze 10 euros between the documents and cross the border.
Another Serb that falls in the middle of the 400 km road Sofia-Belgrade city, we take a coffee and cheesecake break in NIS. Nis was established on both sides of the Nisawa River. In accordance with the general trend, Niş also has a castle and a main street closed to vehicle traffic.. Unlike the others, there is also an underground bazaar that stretches under this street.. The castle is quite small, but the green area extending inward is vast.. As a matter of fact, the list of Places to Visit in Nis is not very crowded..
BELGRADE TRAVEL GUIDE
After getting to know Niš briefly, we set off again, reaching Belgrade towards the evening. We have our dinner in Skadarlija, the cobblestone restaurants street in the historical part of the city, at Tri Sesira, which is also an ethnic restaurant with live music.. Baked lamb, cevapi and Serbiansausage all three are delicious, it stays in the hand of the trap. The music group, which consists of five or six different instruments including double bass and plays local melodies, plays all night long, we enjoy the night very much.
ACCOMMODATION IN BELGRADE
Accommodation The Belgrad Hills We do at Rooms and Suites. (Bed and breakfast total 45 Euros) Our navigator is not very familiar with Belgrade roads, so we had a hard time finding the hotel. We are both very surprised and very touched when a Serbian friend we asked the road to, set off with his two young children in the car when it was just parked, and escorted us to the front of our hotel.. Our one room and one living room hotel is very stylish, we are happy.
An intellectual family the next day! We start the day with a small chess tournament before breakfast.. After a simple breakfast with a croissant to commemorate our Paris days, we go down to the center, grab our scooters and walk along Mihailova, the shopping street closed to vehicle traffic, at the top of the Places to Visit in Belgrade list, Kale Megdan. We reach up to . The view of the Danube River, which suddenly appears at the end of the castle, separating the historical and modern parts of Belgrade from each other… A familiar face comes across Vapiano on Mihailova, the four of us roll two big Capriciossa, then ‘Abbas is a passenger, you don’t stop’ he says, we’re on our way to Sarajevo. Our journey between Belgrade – Sarajevo is more difficult than we expected. It is hard to believe that most of the connection between the two capitals consists of a badly paved road to and fro.. We can take the 400 km road in 5 hours, especially after passing the passport control at the Sarajevo border, we get very restless when we spend the last hour of darkness in the snowy mountains.. As the road started to feel like it would never end, we finally arrive at Sarajevo and take a deep sigh.. 3 of our trip. Section, click for Places to Visit in Sarajevo and Mostar…
