General Information About Dubai / Dubai Travel Guide
– Where is Dubai? Located on the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf coast, Dubai is actually what it is. city, nor country; It is the most populated of the 7 emirates of the United Arab Emirates, but we will continue to refer to it as the City of Dubai.. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE and the largest emirate in terms of area.. For more detailed information about the Emirate and its culture, you can check the article Things to Know About Dubai Before You Go».
– Although Dubai’s official language is Arabic The predominantly spoken language is English, as 85% of the residents are foreign nationals.. And when you travel, you won’t see many people speaking Arabic.

– Dubai currency Emirati Dirham, written as AED or Dhs for short. Fixed value against the dollar and 1 USD = 3.67 AED. As of January 2019, 1 AED=1.44 TL. If you prefer dollars as the currency to take with you, you can convert them to dirhams at the exchange offices at the highest rate.. Exchange rates are often close to each other, you don’t have to worry about getting ripped off.. Still, let me list the companies that you will get the highest ones: Al Ansari, Al Ghurair, Al Rostamani, Al Fardan, UAE, Sharaf.
There is another situation I would like to talk about; We arrived in Dubai, so to speak, penniless, because we forgot to take the foreign currency we reserved for the trip with us.. We thought that if we could not withdraw money from the bank, we would have a big problem, but we had an unfounded fear because we could buy everything by paying with a credit card, including the transportation tickets for public transportation.. You can survive in Dubai even without any currency exchange if you have a credit card. “Dollar or dirham?” they will ask. It will be more advantageous to use a dirham.

How To Get To Dubai The Cheapest? / Dubai Travel Guide
You can find direct flights from Istanbul to Dubai in all of the airline companies I mentioned in the visa section; Except Air Arabia. As Air Arabia’s headquarters is in Sharjah, all its flights are operated from this emirate. The good thing is that the ticket prices are much more affordable than other companies, and now there are direct flights from Izmir, Trabzon, Bodrum and Antalya.. The journey from Sharjah to Dubai is 40 minutes by car.. Also, at certain hours, Air Arabia’s buses from Sharjah Airport to Dubai, costing AED 20/$5.4, depart.

Simcard and Internet / Dubai Travel Guide
Tourists who want to take a local line in Dubai prefer the popular Etisalat or Du. Although the contents change periodically, it is possible to find campaign packages arranged to the advantage of tourists.. For example, at the time we went, Etisalat had a one-time AED 100 Careem discount for first-time users.. (As we use Careem in Bahrain, we would not be able to benefit from the campaign.. Therefore, it was not advantageous for us.. But it is extremely useful especially for those who want to move by taxi.) Also, desert safari, entrance to amusement parks, etc.. offered daily “buy 1 get 1 free” offers for activities. 14-day line with 1GB internet and the package price was 100 AED.
It’s up to your pleasure to complete your trip in Dubai without buying a line.. You have the chance to find free internet in hotels and shopping malls.. In fact, there is free wifi in many places, including the subways, but there is an infrastructure that only local line owners can benefit from.. Even though I use public transportation as much as possible, I needed the internet from time to time in the heat of July when I wanted to call an Uber.. Considering all the conditions, I did not buy a local line as it was more advantageous for me to use Turkcell’s special offer for the United Arab Emirates.. Instead, I chose the 149 TL package valid in the UAE, which includes 8 GB of internet per month, because the exchange rate was very high at the time we went and the 100 AED package was more expensive than 149 TL.
