I’ve always loved football. Despite those who say that two teams cannot be supported since my childhood, I am from Altay in Izmir and from Galatasaray from Istanbul.
I watch Altay’s matches whenever I have the chance.. We had the opportunity to go to Ankara, where these matches were held, together with the fan groups, to watch Altay, who won the right to participate in the promotion matches to the Super League for several seasons in a row. I like watching it more to myself and to being a fan.
***
We get on after finding our own bus from 30 buses gathered around İzmir Altay Alsancak Stadium.. Many of the fans have prepared their cheers. We will be on the road from the early hours of the morning for the match to be played in the evening.. When we arrive in Ankara, we will have time to visit, and after that the game.
The service offered at ridiculous prices of 5 Lira includes round-trip transportation and match tickets.
Considering that the back of the goal match ticket is 10 TL. Calculating the cost of a person is even easier with the round trip fare.
When this is the case, there are people who come to the bus with their luggage.. It is clear that those who take the bus with their suitcases of children and children get on the bus to avoid going to the game!. Police stop buses at Ankara entrance. Supporter buses will be taken to the specified points accompanied by a police convoy.
After an hour spent with the police and the fans, we arrive at Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium.. Buses park in the large car park opposite the stadium. The group of ardent supporters disperses all over the city with Altay flags and scarves.
Everyone is in different places until the game time.. By using this service, I meet my friend and start walking around the streets.
I have Eryaman, the district where my friend resides, first of all in my plan.. Going to Eryaman, which is far outside the city, is a complete death.. Especially in the heat of Ankara.
I am walking under the heat in Eryaman, where the limited green area turns yellow.. My goal is to reach their homes as soon as possible.
It is not possible to see anything outside at this hour, except for a few minibuses.. The one who has a mind is already dead.
After my friend’s breath, we throw ourselves out. Time is limited, we need to evaluate it as soon as possible.
We are waiting for the city bus at the bus stop.. At the end of 40 minutes, we are in Kızılay, where Ankara’s heart beats.
As I left Kızılay. I have never been able to walk in Kızılay without colliding with someone.. I don’t know how accurate it would be to generalize, but the people of Ankara do not know how to walk on the street.. While waiting on the right on the escalators in the subway in Izmir, the left side is always left empty.. For those who want to walk up without waiting. There is no similar situation in Ankara.. I constantly collide with a few people.
I try to see Ankara and breathe its air on the partially tree-lined streets with plenty of shade.
Students coming out of the classroom, young people walking with their friends and people of all ages come to breathe. must have chosen this time of day. Walking becomes a bit difficult when the walking skills that I have mentioned are included in the work.
General directorates, general directorates or administrative centers of official institutions, which we can only see branches in many cities, are also seen in the side streets.
High I remember the press releases made while passing in front of the Election Board Building.
Many intersections are equipped with interlocking bridges called “Melih Gökçek projects”.. Some find it successful, others say that everywhere has become a bridge.
We are planning to arrive at Tunalı Hilmi Street, passing by several large hotel constructions.. Again, we wander the streets decorated with flags by the headquarters of political parties.
Finally, we are in Tunalı Hilmi, one of the most decent streets to be seen in Ankara.
We are in Tunalı, as it is commonly pronounced.
<
The street has a very attractive appearance with shops and luxury vehicles lined up one after the other.. After going up to Kuğulu Park, we are in a hurry to get our fill.
As the match time approaches, we have to go to the stadium as soon as possible.
Ankara, where private public buses and municipal buses have two different mentalities. Getting an EGO card in Turkey means not being able to get on private public buses.
How do you know whether the private public bus or the municipal bus will come first while waiting at the bus stop? I asked a question like this.
I think I’m right, actually.. If the municipality bus comes after I have prepared the money, I will not be able to get on because the money is not paid.. If I buy an EGO card, I will not be able to take the private public bus.. I’m confused. Fortunately, the existence of Private Public Buses has started to come to an end recently.
I always advocate monopoly in local transportation.
After arriving in Ulus by bus, I go to 19 Mayıs Stadium on foot.. My Altay scarf is around my neck, the game time is approaching…
