Prague Travel Guide – Must-See Places in Prague
Prague Travel Guide, If you like medieval history, let it be a small city but ours, it’ll be covered in 2-3 days If you want to bring it to you, here is a Prague from the most medieval. Lots of tourists, lots of bridges and plenty of food and drink options. Also, if you are on a tight budget, it is more affordable than other European cities.
Did we like Prague? Yes. Are we passed out? No. Is it worth seeing? Absolutely.
Edit after 3 years: After writing this article, we went to Prague two more times and this time our Prague experience was very different.. In the article, we add our experiences after 3 years to the necessary places.
Here you go to Prague from our eyes and our Prague Travel Notes!
Prague Travel Guide & Prague Attractions Places
To PragueBefore you go
Prague is very cold 10 months of the year because it is a Central European city. If you’re not going in June or July, you’d better take your thickest clothes with you.. If you say you’re going in August and take just a sort-t-shirt with you, don’t be surprised if you see 9 degrees in the evening, don’t be surprised.
1 Euro is about 39 Czech Koruna(2019). When you think about it like this, you may get the impression that the city is extremely cheap, but the city is also extremely touristy, so the holiday does not come that cheap for you.
Take Euros with you and convert them to Czech Koruna when you arrive. Before we left, we read weird horror stories about the commissions of exchange offices on blogs, but when we left, we realized that this is an urban legend.. If you do not come across a very, very strange exchange office, you will not be in a position to lose half of your money to commission, do not be afraid.. Edit after 3 years: It’s happening, and how! On our last trip to Prague, we lost 25 percent of the money we converted to a currency exchange at the train station as a commission! We converted 200 Euros, and when we thought we were signing the paper that we were converting, they had the commission paper signed, it was 50 Euros! Be sober…. Anyway, continue:
Trams are 24k one way. And what we tell you, don’t take a taxi if you don’t have to, Turkish taxi drivers are out on a tourist hunt.. Turkish-Foreign. As they say, the neighbor is far away!
And let’s add, if you are going to Prague by bus from another European country, not by plane, the bus will take you to the Florenc Bus Terminal. will download. You have to take the metro to get to the city center from here.. Somehow, there is no control, I don’t buy a subway ticket or I bought it, but don’t think it’s okay if I don’t have the machines read it.. At the exit of the metro stop, there are officials like izbandut, who are just waiting to check people with suitcases and write a fine.. Although we bought the correct ticket and had it read by the machine, I guess we put the reverse side of the ticket in the machine, which did not seal, so we were fined 30 Euros per head.. Security guards are never well-meaning, all they care about is how much they can get from you.
Prague Accommodation & Convenient Prague Hotel Options
Prague is a small city. Even if you do not stay in the city center, you can easily reach the center by public transport.. But if you say you want to walk everywhere, we will take you to the hotels around the old town square.. In other words, if you stay in the ‘Praha 1‘ and ‘Praha 2‘ areas, you can walk everywhere. We stayed at ‘Loreta Hotel‘, a hotel very close to Prague Castle.. It was right at the foot of Prague Castle and the surrounding beauties and we paid 50 Euros per day including breakfast per room. You can find a very comfortable hotel in the center for this price, provided that you do not leave it to the last minute.. In fact, run if there’s room in Loreta! The link is here.
If you want to stay right in the old city center instead of Prague Castle;
If you are looking for a nice place right next to Charlies Bridge, and it’s worth the money If you say I will give it anyway, you can look at Historic Center Apartments.. We left the link here.
Let’s come to the cheap hotel suggestion (because long live the cheapness)! If you want it to be right in the center but convenient, you can look at Pension Karlova, it was highly recommended to us.. If you find a place, you can skip it with peace of mind.. Link here.
Finally, if you want to stay in a hostel rather than a hotel, we will recommend Hostel Homea as a fun and convenient hostel close to the center.. Here is the link for young people and those who stay young!
Finally, if you want to stay at Airbnb, let’s leave a link like this. If you become a member of Airbnb with this link, you earn a credit of 130 TL valid on your first stay, and as you continue to use Airbnb, Airbnb may start to like you more and add surprise credits to your account.
Places to Visit in Prague.
Edward Benes II. Prague was not bombed because it handed over the keys of the city to Hitler in World War II.. For this reason, it is one of the rare European cities that have preserved their historical texture until today.. There are indeed beautiful places to see.
Staromestske Namesti (Old Town)
aka Prague old town square. What Istanbul’s Taksim Square is, this is for Prague, you’ll definitely be on your way. The famous astronomical clock tower is here. It is one of the rare clock towers in the world and works between 9 am and 9 pm.. Then, if you land in Prague late in the evening and come here to catch an hour, don’t think why it didn’t go off, don’t think that there is no trick to it! If you want, you can go upstairs and catch beautiful shots.
Charles Bridge:
One of the pupils of Prague. There are about 30 statues on this bridge over the Vltava River and it is another beautiful thing when it is lit in the evening.. One of the statues on this bridge has been rubbed with hands because, according to a belief, those who touch this statue come back to Prague sooner or later.. Since it is the most touristic spot in Prague, it has been invaded by tourists.. If you want to take a romantic photo with my girlfriend or something, you better go at 5 in the morning.. Otherwise, you may have to throw a few Chinese people into the water even to lean on the bridge and pose.
There are places at the end of the bridge that sell the famous dessert ‘Trdelnik’, which Czechs invented and popularized in recent years.. You will come across this dessert in so many places that you will eventually succumb to your curiosity and try it.. Here are the places at the end of this bridge that make the best ‘Trdelnik‘. However, don’t keep your expectations too high, we give 10 for its appearance and 3 for its taste.
Pariszka Street:
Let’s call it Prague’s Nişantaşı, you call it Etiler’ I. As you can imagine, the most expensive stores in the city are here. It also has the oldest active synagogue in Europe.. We looked at the prices of the stores and walked by!
St.Vitus Cathedral:
The construction of this place took 585 years. Don’t think about how it takes 585 years to build a building, go and see. You will understand why it took so long! (Actually, we tried to say that this cathedral is very beautiful here.
Sex Machines Museum:
Sex Machines Museum (!). There are things inside that will surprise the imagination of all human beings.. You say, wow, the men neither cared nor cared! There is a seat at the entrance of the venue that measures how suitable you are for sex.. When we went, Turkish uncles were waiting in line to sit.. Sit down, you can sit, no problem 🙂 Inside the museum, there is a movie theater where you can watch the world’s first porn.. You’re not always going to the Kafka museum or the Louvre, so go here too.. Fun, funny, beautiful.
Dancing Building:
If you’re interested in modern architecture, you’ll love this building that looks like a dancing couple from the outside. When you go to see these dancing buildings, you will not understand anything if you look directly from the first point of view.. Keep looking by changing your angle. When you look at the traffic lights from there, you will see that the two buildings seem to be dancing.. It’s very easy to reach here by walking from the Charles Bridge, check it out while you’re at it.
Kafka Museum:
If you’re going here, it’s a Franz Kafka-like decor rather than the exhibits in the museum section. , imagine going for the maze-like interior arrangement and music. It seemed a bit like a museum built purely for touristic purposes to eat the bread of “Caucasian lovers”.. We didn’t like much. It failed the class, you know.
Prague Castle:
With the approval of the Guinness Book of Records, this is the largest ancient castle in the world.. Entry is paid of course. 350 Koruna. There is a narrow street that leads to the city from inside the Prague Castle, its name is ‘Golden Lane’, that is, the Golden Lane, heh, this is the famous art street of the time, where Kafka’s house was also! They named it the “Golden Road” because they believed that those who passed by this street would be rich.. It has become one of our favorite places in Prague.
You can reach the ‘Strahov Monastery’ by walking from Prague Castle by the Golden Lane and walking again.
Strahov Monastery:
Strahov Monastery is home to one of the most beautiful libraries in Prague, and even in the world, so we wouldn’t be able to go there!
The library was really excellent, you just have to look from afar, you can’t go to the book section.
After leaving the monastery, you can return to the city center by walking or by taking the nearby cable car.. After here, there is one more place to see, Prague’s must-have John Lennon Wall!
John Lennon Wall:
The most beautiful cliché of Prague. It’s a cliché in a good way. This wall, which was first built in 1980, is still beautiful even though a graffiti slammed into it and eventually turned into soup.. If you approach the wall, you can see scribbles such as Ahmet heart Emine(we call these friends, don’t do it, you messed up the beautiful wall).
Karlovy Vary:
This town, which can be reached by a bus ride of approximately 1.5 hours from Prague, is famous for its mineral waters and hot springs.. No, we are not interested in the spa, if you are wondering where else we might have heard its name, let us remind you of the International Karlovy Film Festival. Probably from here They even call this festival the Cannes of Eastern Europe.. Or not that we know.
Anyway, let’s get back to our topic. You can easily go to Karlovy Vary by buses that leave from Prague Florenc Station every hour.. One-way bus cost is around 6 Euros. This place of peace created the thought that “If I’m going to make one of the most important decisions of my life in the future, I must spend the thinking phase here”.. It’s such a peaceful, quiet and cute place.. Since we praised it so much, you must have understood that we are trying to say that if you have come to Prague, try to spare 1 day. 🙂
Remember that Prague is a very old city and has many places to visit.. What we wrote above are the ones we chose to see on our 3-day trip. Museum of Torture, Toy Museum, John Lennon Museum, zoo and New Town are also on the list of places to see in Prague
where we do not prefer to go
. If any of them interest you, Google is waiting for you, take a look before you go
Let’s come to the eating-drinking-entertainment-drunk part of our article.. You walked in Prague during the day until the black waters landed on your feet and fulfilled the requirements of being a tourist, it’s time for a beer.. Drinks are cheap in Prague, and we know places that will entertain you and get you drunk enough, so leave it to us!
Prague Travel Guide: Eating and Drinking in Prague
U Krále Brabantského:
If you say we had the day of the Middle Ages, now show us the night, here is a tavern that has been serving you since 1375! No keyboard error, 1375. Every evening there is live music, dance and fire show inside the venue.. In fact, in the last 15 minutes, everyone goes out and watches the latest show.. The show is good, the food is good, in short, it’s a place where you can spend a night easily when you come to Prague.. Let’s remind you that you need a reservation. If you don’t mention a special food and drink menu and just watch the show, 8 Euros per person will be added to your account.. Is it worth it? Exactly. We leave the link here for reservation. here
Café Slavia:
Nâzım is said to have sat often while in Prague. famous cafe. If you come during quiet hours, you can grab a window and watch the Vltava river.. Since it is a very touristic place nowadays, you should be willing to wait in line.. Think of it more like an ideal place for a coffee break during the day.
Café Savoy:
Just like Café Slavia integrated with Nazım, this is Integrated with >Kafka. As you can imagine, it is extremely touristic.. They said if you want to sit with us, put your name on the list and wait in line at the door for about 1 hour.. Thank you, we said we wouldn’t buy it and we’re back!
U Fleku:
One of Prague’s most historic breweries and they also produce their own beer. You can go here and try all kinds of beers and get drunk to your heart’s content.. Of course
the fact that they serve the famous Czech drink Becherovka with every beer order plays a big role in this! (Every shot doesn’t mean a treat, sometimes they even add it to the account, ask before you drink it Don’t forget to try the honey wine that comes in the tray.
Jazz Republic:
Prague’ One of the famous Jazz Cafes of. Perfect for those looking for a Jazz Café while in Prague.. There is live music every evening and admission is free.
Hemingway Bar:
The most famous cocktail bar in Prague. Although the cocktail prices are expensive compared to other places, it definitely deserves it in terms of price-performance.. There are many other bars on the street where this bar is located, if you want, you can brew here beforehand.
Karlovy Lazne:
This is also the most famous nightclub. It has 5 floors and different concept music plays on each floor.. We didn’t mean to say there might be a 500 meter queue at the gate but that’s the truth.. The entrance is 1.5 Euros if you go early.. 3.5 Euros after 10 o’clock. We can’t say that it is a very nice nightclub and there is a lot of apache inside, but if you want to get drunk, dance and have fun with friends, don’t think, who will hire you!

Prague Food & Drink Guide: The Best Places in Prague
After the article
Prague Travel Guide, we did not think that there were so many places to visit in Prague. But when we finished our Prague Travel Guide article, we said that there are many places to visit in Prague.. If you ask us, Prague is definitely a place to visit, but there are also many cons.. Once everywhere is full of tourists, you can no longer feel the medieval atmosphere, there are tourists wherever you go.. When the coldness and rudeness of the Czech people are added to this, sometimes you feel like throwing yourself in your hotel room.. Let’s not forget that it is a city with a very high crime rate.. It is not a city where you can walk comfortably on streets where no one is at night.. Also, smoking is allowed in almost every indoor area.. If you don’t smoke, you will be very uncomfortable.
Our purpose in writing these is never to lose your enthusiasm before you come to the city.. Every beauty has a flaw and we want to say that Prague’s too.. Especially if this will be your first trip to Central Europe, every place will be different for you.. And remember, any place that is different is beautiful.. Have a nice trip, good memories.
