We spent October 28 in Greece and October 29 in Turkey. On October 28, Greece celebrates gaining some land from Italy during World War II. As important as October 29 was for us, October 28 was just as important for the Greeks. They emphasize the value and value of independence. The only difference was that the celebration efforts were not attempted to be prevented as in our country, but rather they were supported by the state.
Their style of celebration is very familiar to us..
On Friday, October 26th (as schools are closed on Sunday), primary school students laid wreaths at the mausoleum, held a moment of silence and sang their national anthem. . There wasn’t a huge crowd as the photos below were taken in the very small town of Kalambaka.
F16 aircraft made demonstration flights over the Thessaloniki coast in the morning of 28 October. Although I do not like military demonstrations, I would like to emphasize that it is not in the same classification as Solo Türk or Turkish Stars.
On the evening of October 28, a band played in Aristotle, the most famous square of Thessaloniki, and people had fun under the rain.
