Frankfurt’ or Frankfurt am Main for business or Mehmet If you are not going to see the daughter of your brother-in-law’s sister-in-law, we will not be able to say that it is a city that makes a few friends say, “Let’s go to Frankfurt, we are very curious about it”.. For many of us, this city is just about the fairs held at Messe Frankfurt, the world’s largest fair organizer, the city with a transfer by plane, and “my aunt lives there”. Frankfurt, rather than a touristic city, is a city with very active fairs, the head offices of many banks and corporate companies, a little museum, a little history, a little electronic music, and if we think very shallowly, it is a residential area of many Turks.. In summary, like many other cities in Europe, after a certain time, people ask, “Are we in the right place of the city, where are these people, is there an underground city that we do not know?” In Frankfurt, you encounter a desolation that makes you question.. We are talking about a view that someone who has passed by Maslak with a car would not find very special.. I’m not saying we should be biased before we go, I’m just trying to lower expectations so that you are satisfied with what you visit and what you see. If you say so, you can find many things to discover and experience in this city.. It is possible to determine whether you want to go with a short test.. When you think of Frankfurt, do you think of more than three things?
When to Go?
Frankfurt, like many other European cities, has a very warm and beautiful weather. cannot be said to be known. Of course, summer and spring are more sunny and warmer than winter and autumn months, but in winter months, it is exposed to the sharp cold and rain of Central Europe.. It may not be correct to refer to the weather conditions of the past years here, if you are aware, the climates in our world are a bit confused.. If you are going here for touristic purposes and want to secure your job, plan your trip according to spring or summer months.. If you are going for business, there is nothing to do.
The city of Frankfurt is a little touristy when compared to the cities of Germany such as Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Dresden.. If I were to interpret the reason for this a little personally, I can convey it to you as follows: “There is nothing to do after 1-2 days”. Therefore, it is not necessary to visit a certain season or period in order to avoid the crowds, as it is not flooded with tourists.. You can avoid fair periods just to make the hotel prices a little more affordable, because during these periods the prices may increase because the hotels are very full.
I think you more or less understood my approach towards the city.. It may not appeal to me too much, but Frankfurt is a city that can appeal to people in many ways.. You don’t need to approach only with the logic of “Let me stop by here while I’m in Germany”, there are many fairs and events that will attract your attention on certain dates.. Although there are mainly sectoral fairs, there are also fairs that appeal to general audiences.. Two of the most popular are the Book Fair, which takes place from October 8-12 this year, and the Automobile Fair, which takes place every 2 years, usually in September.. By following such fairs and events according to your interests or business, you can also arrange your trip according to these dates.
What to Wear?
Referring to the sharp cold and precipitation mentioned above I guess you’re starting to think about the clothes you need to take with you.. Of course, the most indispensable things we need to take with us when traveling to cities with high precipitation potential are of course thick clothes, umbrellas and neat / comfortable shoes.. When you go for business, I have to be sharp like a princess/prince at fairs. If you are in the stands, you eliminate half of the clothes in your wardrobe. Especially when she talks about a more serious dress for women, communities are directly involved.. For comfort, wear your most assertive heels with peace of mind, because the Frankfurt metro/tram system is highly developed and reduces the walking level considerably.. Do not worry, even if the level of laziness increases, it is quite easy to find or call a taxi in the city.
Budget and Transportation
Frankfurt is not as much as Berlin (see: until today) It’s the cheapest city I’ve visited) I seem to hear the reactions of the sours who evaluated whether the expression “see here” is appropriate, it is a very reasonable city in terms of prices.. You can consume a coffee for 1.5-2 Euros, and a decent steak for 10-15 Euros, depending on the location.. Of course, since it is seen as the business center of Germany, it is possible to encounter very serious, mid-level and luxury restaurants adapted to the business environment.. Your food and beverage budget should be created a little more according to your expectations and interests.. Remember, we never do multiplication operations according to the Turkish lira in our minds abroad.. As for liquor consumption, beer prices are at a level that can come close to being cheaper than water.
For transportation, you will mostly use the rail system, namely S-Bahn, U-Bahn trains, or tram.. The system is quite advanced, frankly, when I saw the map for the first time, I even gave a “yuh” reaction.. To create the same effect for you:
As you can see from the map, there is a metro/tram stop on almost every corner.. Since there are many lines, it is quite normal for people to get confused, find it difficult to find their way and get lost.. To better understand your direction, you can refer to Frankfurt’s main station, the Hauptbahnhof (also known as HBF).
Prices and options for transportation pretty reasonable too. If you plan to use it many times during the day, make sure to get a daily pass.. Options include weekly, daily and single-use tickets:
Weekly: Approximately 22 Euros
Daily:Approximately 6 Euros, also if you are traveling as a group you can buy a group ticket for 9.50 Euros per day. This ticket allows you to travel unlimited for up to 5 people all day.
Single ticket: 1.5-3 Around Euro. It may vary according to stops and distances.
You can also purchase the Frankfurt Card, which provides unlimited transportation and a certain discount for some museums and sights.. You can find more detailed information about discounts and places where you can buy the pass here.
Single pass:
1 Day: €9,90
2 Days: €14.50
Groups pass(max 5 persons):
1 Day: €20
2 Days: €29.50
There is not a very long distance from the airport to the center. You can reach it easily and in a short time by using the Metro or Taxi. If you are going to travel by metro, I recommend you to buy the direct daily pass.. Taxi, on the other hand, costs about 25-30 Euros.
Accommodation in Frankfurt
The most logical place for your stay is depending on what purpose you are going for. and it depends on where you want to be closer. But it doesn’t matter where you stay, as the city is not that big and everywhere is easily accessible by public transport.. There may be distances to the stops that you need to consider when choosing a hotel here, but when you leave the hotel 90% of the time, you will find a stop within 3-4 minutes of walking.. Frankfurt’s touristic center Römer/Dom, that is, the area called Old Town. The area closest to here and with the most hotel options is the city center of Frankfurt, that is, around the HBF station.. If you want to be close to the business center, that is, Willy-Brandt Square, you can stay in these areas and you can reach them on foot or by train in a very short time.. If you are in Frankfurt for the Fair If you want to stay in a hotel close to Messe Frankfurt. The fairground is also close to the Festhalle/Messe stop. At the bottom of the Messe, there are well-known hotels such as NH Messe, Movenpick, and Mariott, but these hotels can be quite crowded, especially during fair periods, and you can consider staying in other regions according to the price.. I stayed at Radisson Blu the last time I went. Although it is not within walking distance to the fairground, it took me 10 minutes to reach Messe as there is a stop very close to it.. Also this hotel, I think at the time 1. and 2. It was much more reasonable in price compared to other hotels due to the fact that it was under renovation on its floor.. I think the renovation will last until the summer, but I didn’t care at all when I was staying there, I would definitely recommend you to stay here if you are going to go soon, the hotel is very comfortable.
Places to Visit in Frankfurt
Frankfurt is a very small city with very few sights to see.. So, if the purpose is a touristic trip, 1-2 days will be enough time to stay here.. In this city around the Main river, there are different places to see south and north of the river. To mention a few places in Frankfurt that have the potential to interest you the most.
-Römer/Dom
Römerberg Square, Frankfurt It is known as the old city of. Buildings seen in the square 2. It was rebuilt because it was destroyed in World War II.. You can also see historical buildings, the town hall, and the main cathedral of the city, the Cathedral of Saint Barholome.. You can also find small cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops.. Considering that this is the most famous square, and thinking that it is a slightly more lively place, if you go in the evening, if you think that the city is deserted and want to get away from there quickly.
Transportation: U-Bahn, Römer/Dom stop
-Eisener Seg Bridge
When you walk for a few minutes from Römer towards the river, you reach Frankfurt’s most famous Eisener bridge.. This is the best place to pop a few photos of the river and the city.. Cross the bridge and you reach the southern part of the river and Sachsenhausen, Frankfurt’s most active area.
-Sachsenhausen
Frankfurt’s largest population and things to do This is the region with the most. Here you can take a nice walk along the river, eat and drink in a cafe, visit the museums in the Museumsufer, or visit the old pubs on the main street Schweizer avenue in Frankfurt. You can drink special Apfelwine (apple cider). There’s also a flea market here if you’re interested.. As you can see, many activities you can do in Frankfurt are gathered here.
Transportation: U-Bahn, Schweizer Platz Stop
-Museumsufer
In the district of Sachsenhausen, where the majority of museums in Franfurk are located. Although they sound good, there are some museums such as Modern Art, Architecture&Design, Museums of History, Nature&Technology, The World of Banks&Money, Film&Photography, which I can’t comment on because I haven’t been to Frankfurt.. Here is the Stadel Museum, one of the most important art museums in Germany and one of the must-see museums if you are interested. Here Van Gogh, Dages, Rembrandt, Fra Angelico, Botticelli, Jan van It is possible to see the works of many important names such as Eyck.. -Main Tower
This is Frankfurt’s tallest building. For 5 Euro you can climb to the top of the building and see the view of the city.. There is also a restaurant and bar here, I don’t know anything about the food, but it can be used to have a drink in front of the view.
Transportation: U Bahn, Willy/Brandt Platz Stop
By the way, I didn’t find it worth mentioning, but if you’re interested, Willy/Brandt Platz square is considered Frankfurt’s business center. Since the European Central Bank is located here, they made a giant Euro statue. That’s it.
-Heidelberg
After hanging out in Frankfurt, Heidelberg, which is 1 hour away from Frankfurt by train, is a place where you can evaluate your time, especially if you have time. , a city with a wonderfully sweet atmosphere where you can go for a day. Heidelberg, also known for its baroque and romantic streets, Heidelberg Castle, and the nature surrounding the Neckar River, is a very enjoyable place to wander around and spend time with.
Transportation: S3 Train, Heidelberg Hbf Stop
Shopping in Frankfurt
Under normal circumstances, when I was in Europe, I would definitely say Iphone, Ipad and other expensive electronics, or famous brands, but when the Euro was going crazy, especially on my last trip to Frankfurt, I started to bang in my head (okay, on my phone) When I started doing multiplications), I realized once again that it doesn’t make sense to buy anything abroad anymore.. I know we didn’t do multiplication when we were abroad, but when it comes to shopping, especially when it comes to Ayfon, things can change a bit.. Shopping malls abroad, which re-opened the conversation “Ya brother, there is everything in Turkey now” are overflowing with brands and stores that do not seem very different to our eyes, though not always.. Still, there is hope, one always finds himself in the city’s most popular shopping streets and shopping malls.
* Bockenheimer & Zeil Street :When you come to Haptwache square by subway On one side you have Bockenheimer Strasse and on the other side Zeil street. These streets have the taste of Frankfurt’s Istiklal Street, where restaurants, Starbucks and many stores such as Apple store are located.. As you can see, I have listed the things that I think will interest you the most.. There is also a shopping mall called MyZeil on the street.
Transportation: U-Bahn Haptwache Stop
*SkyLine Plaza: The newest mall in Frankfurt. Here, like Saturn, it is possible to find electronics, clothing, Starbucks, and many kinds of restaurants/fast food.. Here, the restaurant that interests me the most is the Mexican fast food chain Chipotle, which I am a regular in America.. Also, if you are interested in different types of candy, drinks, food, and junk abroad like me, it is possible to find a few markets inside.. Since the location is right behind the Messe Frankfurt Fairground, it is at a very easy point to reach, especially if you have come to the fair.
Transportation: U-Bahn, Festhalle/Messe Station
