Eveeet, after a long break with final exams and job changes, we were on the road again. This time we were in the ancient city of Ephesus (Ephesos) in a well-known place, Izmir Selcuk.. Thousands of years of history with its mosaic roads, the Celsus Library and the Temple of Artemis. It is impossible not to wander around the city and admire the people who lived in the old times.. Every corner of the city is art, every corner is science.. From its roads to its tombs, from its temples to its library, every part of it has been elaborately and slowly processed.. You don’t understand how the hours passed during the trip.
At the exit of Ephesus 2. our stop seven sleepers. A place that has a very interesting story, and it would be more accurate to say more narration than story, ate sleepers.. Briefly, this is a rumor talking about 7 young people and 1 dog who slept for 309 years.. How much do you believe now. Unfortunately, entering the cave of the seven sleepers is prohibited for security reasons.
The wishing tree right next to the seven sleepers.
Of course, when we had traveled that far, the last stop is Şirince village.. To reach this mountain village, which is approximately 8 km from Selçuk, you follow a winding road on the slopes of the mountain.. Şirince attracts many tourists every year with its wines, olive oils, historical architectural structure and charming chalets.. The first thing you notice every time you visit Şirince is how much it has developed and how many new parking lots have been opened.. But this time something more draws our attention.. That’s a couchsurfing label in front of a cafe. We learn that there are couchsurfers there too.. We rejoice as it is. Wine houses on every corner are the classics of Şirince.. You can try any wine you want here.. It is possible to find the wine of every fruit. Kaplankaya is our wine house stop this time.. The white wine they produce from the grapes of that region has a sweet structure even though it is fermented without using any sweeteners (at least they say so).. There are many ways to go from Izmir to Selcuk.. You can take the minibuses that leave from Izmir bus station approximately every 10 minutes or you can take the train from Basmane station.. The train is more nostalgic and environmentally friendly, but takes about 1.5 hours.. Minibuses arrive in Selçuk in 50 minutes.. After arriving in Selçuk, you need to take the minibus again to go to Şirince.. But more fun is hitchhiking from Selçuk to Şirince.
