Where to go in Santorini? What are the places to visit in Santorini? Anyway, there is the place where I woke up that morning !!! uffff. still on my mind. I dream that you will open your eyes by looking at such a view.. So that you too can experience these beauties, I am starting to tell you.
In Greece, I went to Mykonos, Athens, Chios You can find answers to all your questions from my strong> and Greece travel guide articles.
Places to Visit in Santorini
First, let’s decide: What will you be traveling with? Of course engine. Since the island is small, it is best to rent a motorbike and travel around.. Because it will be easiest to go from one place to another by motorbike.. If “We don’t know how to drive a motor.” If you say so, then rent an ATV.
Santorini Accommodation You can see all the accommodation options I have suggested in my article, suitable for every budget.
If you say there is no room. rent a car. If there is no room, you will now use public transport.. There are not such frequent bus services on the island.. If you are wondering how often there are bus services to your destinations, click for the last time. Ok ok I’m coming to the point.
1. Imerovigli Town
My God, what a view is this? It’s like I’m watching a very romantic movie. You know, the morning after a great night, the boy gets up from his bed without waking the girl, you know?. Gently opens the blue door. Without making a sound.
Tiny on your toes taking tiny steps. After opening the door, he sees this view where he sees every shade of blue hundreds of meters under his feet.. He slowly turns around and looks at a girl and then at the view.. That’s it… Anyway… I’m very emotional right now.
I just remembered those days.. All of a sudden the words started pouring out of my mouth.. Why does one relax as he writes?. Even though I was in Istanbul, I lived those moments… I come to the point.
SANTORINI Be sure to check out all the hotels. You’ll love it
Sir, we stayed right in this town to get a place in the middle of the island.. They said, “It’s one of the most beautiful spots where you can see the sunset.” Fira is about 2 km from here. That’s why we make our stay here and hop on our motorbike and tour other towns.
2. Fira (Thera)
Leaving the hotel, we go to the famous town, which is just 5 minutes away.. This is the capital of the island.. It’s a beautiful place to take pictures, especially at sunset.. You can picture the view of the white houses and streets with those deep blue domes, with the Caldera Bay behind you from 300 meters high.. In its center, you can see Agiou Mina church, M.Nomikou Street, Eritrou Stavrou Street, Megaro Gyzi Museum, Thira Archaeological Museum and Prehistoric museum.
All of these places I mentioned are already side by side.. All in the center of Fira. But if you say sea in the sea, luxury cafes, restaurants and bars located on the cliff can be your frequent destination.. You can especially start from Eritrou Stavrou Street.
I would say look at the prices from the menus in front of the doors of the cafes and restaurants here.. Prices can be expensive. We visit this place the next day. After lingering for a while, we want to see other parts of the island immediately.. Because we are trying to save this spot for the best moment, after the evening.
3. Red Beach (Red coast)
From Fira town to motorbike By jumping, we reach the Red Beach, located in the southernmost part of the island, known for the red color of its slope, in about 20 minutes.. Our engine varia. We can’t get enough of it.
By the way, on the island There are 3 very famous beaches.. this is someone. Another one is Perissa Beach and the last one is Kamari beach. I will explain them all in order. This Red beach takes its name from the color of its soil.
You can also come here by bus if you wish.. You have the opportunity to rent sunbeds on the beach.. A place with a really crimson color. I’ve never seen a place like this anywhere else.. Must see while you’re here.
4. Santorini Akrotiri Museum
Let’s leave the beach and get some culture. We are going to the famous Santorini Akrotiri Museum, which is just 5 minutes away from the red beach. Can we come this far and return without seeing the museum?. In these museums, they have preserved their history in a very good way.. One of the most important museums on the island. Actually, this is an ancient city.
Already still going on There are studies that. Cities that remained underground after the volcanic eruption are brought to the surface with works that require delicate and sensitive meticulousness.. Architectural structures of the city, tools and objects used in daily life are exhibited in this museum.. Must be seen while you’re here.
5. Perissa Beach (Coast)
After getting a little cultured, our next route is yet another beach. Perissa beach. These beaches are all on the south side of the island.. There is also a town near the beach.. Compared to Red Beach, it is a more suitable beach to buy something from restaurants and to do the food and beverage business.. Keep in mind…
6. Profitis Ilias Monastery
We stop by this monastery on the way to Kamari beach. This point is actually one of the highest points on the island.. Everywhere under your feet. In the middle of June, it is one of the rare places where the Aegean wind blows beautifully.. built in 1711. It should be seen even just for the view.
7. Kamari Beach
Continue walking from that beach to this beach.. Our next stop is this beach located in the town of Kamari.. After leaving the monastery, it is already quite close.. This was the place with a beach that reminded me of a public beach in Turkey.. To tell the truth, I’m not very impressed.
8. Oia (İa) Town
While the day is slowly taking a rest, we say let’s go back. We say, first, let’s spend some time in Oia, the most famous town of the island, and then move on to Fira, where our hotel is located.. But don’t think that the island is small or something.. It takes almost 1 hour to reach Oia, from the southernmost part of the island to the northernmost.. So what is in this Oia?
You know those famous blue domed buildings? here are most of them. With its streets, avenues and shops, everything that will make you feel as if you are in a dream is all here.. A fairy-tale town.
We too get lost in this dream we are walking. We disappear from one street to another without knowing anything.. We enter one of the blue domed buildings. Turns out it was the famous Oia church.. We leave the church and enjoy the magnificent view of Santorini. We say let’s go all the way down.
There is a place called Ammoudi town.. A tiny town by the sea. You can reach by walking. However, it is difficult to climb the hill on the way back.. we are so tired. You can go out with donkeys if you wish.. Of course, if your heart allows…
There is not much to see on the island in terms of structure. The thing about this island is that the street and sea views it offers you with its interesting structure are much more impressive and fairy-tale than other islands.. It is a place where the white streets are adorned with azure domed structures, and wonderful hotels and restaurants on the edge of the cliff with beautiful Aegean views are built for you to spend good times.
You can see my suggestions for accommodation in Santorini from my >Santorini accommodation article.
You can get lost in the streets and visit the churches. On the beaches I mentioned above, you can relax in the very hot weather during the day.. If you wish, you can go to other small islands on the opposite side of the island by boat.
If you are wondering how to find cheap flight tickets to Santorini, see my Best flight and train ticket sites article.
The island is a place where couples come to relax and have romantic moments rather than seeing things anyway.. Rent a motorbike and cruise the beaches and villages, and enjoy the beautiful sunset view in the villages of Oia or Fira in the evening. You can visit the streets and shops in these villages at night, and have fun in bars, nightclubs or pubs.
