In these days when Turkish tourism is not having a good day, Canakkale is one of the rare cities where things are good in Turkey. (Mashallah let’s say we don’t have evil eye) Even though I went during the week, I saw that people started to come to the city.. If you want to go on holiday to Çanakkale on the weekend, you’d better look for a hotel already.. Then you can see the beautiful places have all been taken. Where to stay in Çanakkale? How are Canakkale hotels? I will try to answer your questions, such as my recent Cura Hotel experience.
The majority of hotels in Çanakkale are located in the city center, near Kilitbahir Ferry Pier, in Kordon and its surroundings. taking. For those who ask Where to stay in the center of Çanakkale, there are many large and small hotels and pensions here.. While walking around the center, Hotel des Etrangers and Kervansaray Hotel were the most pleasing to my eyes.. However, especially if you come by car like me, staying in the center of the city is crazy because I have seen more traffic and parking problems in Çanakkale than I have seen in Istanbul.. Hotels here do not have their own parking lot.. On the first day, after searching for a parking space for about 20 minutes in the city center, I paid a parking fee of 12 TL for 5 to the car park I entered.. The next day, I got smart and parked the car at the old bus station.. Then force the ground

About Çanakkale Cura Hotel
When I travel by car, it is an important criterion to have a car park in the hotel where I will stay.. Especially if I’m driving a escrow car. We came across Cura Hotel in the scans we made from Booking.. It had a parking lot and looked like a pretty nice hotel.. (It was the second highest rated facility in the city with 9.2 in Booking) This is located on Troya Street, about 2 and a half km from the touristic center of the city.. It hasn’t even been opened a year yet.
The hotel came to life when twin sisters Nil and Nilgün decided to realize their father’s dream of a hotel.. The fact that one of the sisters, Ms. Nilgün, is a high art historian is also felt in the hotel.. From the lobby to the rooms, they display their private collections everywhere.. The rooms are decorated very nicely with old photographs of Çanakkale.. The hotel worked with Barış Hacıbaşıoğlu as an interior architect.
My Comments on Cura Hotel
Obviously, this place reminded me of city hotels that foreign chains set up in small cities.. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw the Doubletree Hilton or the Ibis Style logo.. Generally, hotels in Turkey see luxury as using plenty of leaf.. But they ignore the little details. Here, on the contrary, I saw a refined modern design and attention to detail.. The fact that there are two female managers at the head of the hotel may have a share in this.
How are the rooms?
For the quality of a hotel, I first look at the quality of the shampoos and towel slippers they use in the room.. Shampoo was fine.. In fact, thyme soap is a very successful detail in my opinion.. Towels and slippers were good, but could have been a little better quality.. By the way, the dominant color in the room is white and I couldn’t see the slightest stain.. I think this is an important claim.. Also, the bathroom was very clean and beautiful.
The hotel’s corridors resemble the Ibis Style brand developed by the Accor Hotel chain for more stylish young customers.. This brand opened their first hotel in Turkey two years ago in Taksim.
How is the breakfast?
Open buffet breakfast is served in the morning.. I think it is successful in terms of variety and quality.. Especially the spinach pancake was delicious.. The tables are cleaned instantly as soon as someone gets up.
What makes hotels beautiful is the quality of people working in addition to elements such as the design and cleanliness of the building.. Especially in cities other than Istanbul, it is not easy for hotels to keep quality manpower in tourism.. However, Cora Hotel was quite successful in this regard.. Especially after the pleasant conversation we had with Hotel Manager Erdinç Bey, I came to the conclusion that the hotel is in safe hands.
What are the Cons of the Hotel?
I try to find negative aspects in every hotel I stay, just like the cars I test, because At the end of the day, nothing is perfect except Allah.. There were some minuses that caught my eye in the hotel.
The variety at breakfast was good, but in a city like Çanakkale famous for its cheese and in a hotel of this quality, I would expect to see more kinds of cheese.. It would be better without eggs and ham.. Generally, products such as ham and sausage are not very reliable in Turkey.. (I’m not saying that the hotel’s ham was of poor quality, I don’t eat these products at all.) Also, I only saw Nescafe as a coffee.. Maybe a filter coffee option. (I didn’t ask if there was. Maybe they can bring it if you want.. I won’t take their rights either)
In such luxury city hotels, 2 pieces of water are placed at the most visible point with the inscription “Our Treat”.. I did not notice it in the room.
Where is Cura Hotel?
The hotel is located on Troya Street, 2 and a half kilometers from the city center.. There isn’t a nice place in sight around the hotel where you can go out at night and take a walk.. (I would definitely recommend going to the Archaeological Museum, which is very close to the hotel during the daytime.) Although it seems like a minus in this respect, we discovered in the morning that the area around the hotel is actually the growing center of the city.. The city’s two biggest shopping malls (Troy Park and 17 Burda AVMs) are within walking distance of the hotel.. In addition, the Kiyi AVM on the beach, which has just opened in the city and where only restaurants are located, is also very close to the hotel.
If you want to go to the city center by walking, not by car, the distance from the side streets decreases to 2 km.. In other words, it can be walked between 20 and 30 minutes depending on your walking speed.
Address: Barbaros Mahallesi, Troya Cd. No:26, 17020 Çanakkale Merkez/Çanakkale
There are also buses and minibuses going here from Çanakkale centre.
