Beijing our adventure started thanks to the Fair we will attend. Again, we made our hotel reservation for 7 nights, 2 people, breakfast included, for 448 dollars, and our journey started on the evening of 26 October.. Our hotel is in Dongcheng district, 10 minutes walking from Dongshitiao subway station.. We bought our Beijing tickets for the fair, which will be held for 4 days. After obtaining our fair invitations, I needed to make a program that would make the best use of our 3 days outside the fair time.. The fair starts on October 30th and ends on November 2nd.
Before I start writing, I think a brief information about Beijing would be helpful.
When you arrive in Beijing, one of the things you can see is its excellent infrastructure and the other is its modern buildings.. There are no buildings, old buildings that reflect Chinese culture.. You might be surprised if I came to China or to Europe. At the beginning of the places where you can find history are the Great Wall of China, palaces and temples.. The width of the streets is not like that, I think the street that we can call the widest in Istanbul is nothing besides these.. It is impossible to find even a single piece of garbage on the streets.. Cleaning staff are constantly cleaning until they reach the cigarette butt on the floor, without tiring themselves, with iron rods similar to tongs in their hands.. It is possible to see different snapshots, such as those who do morning sports on the sidewalks or on the sidewalk together with music, and the managers line up in front of their workplaces and have their workers do morning sports before working hours.
On the evening of October 27, we went to the city center from the airport by metro.. I don’t think it’s necessary to take a taxi for nothing and pay that much.. We changed our money from the bank right next to the hotel.. Since there are no exchange offices, you can get a queue number from the bank and change your money, then we went to Beijing’s most famous street, Wangfujing.. I bought 2 Chinese education and 2 story books from the 6-floor bookstore, one of the biggest bookstores in Beijing, wangfujing book store, right at the entrance of the street. I’ve been training for Chinese language in Istanbul for months. Since there is a shortage of resources, this bookstore is just for me.. This street was just like our İstiklal street.. The place where the traffic-free shops and crowds are the busiest.. In addition, after entering Wangfujing Street, we do not pass by Snake Street, which is ahead.. The sights we saw on the stalls in the narrow streets were not pleasant at all.. Let’s see, I can understand and even try to eat all kinds of insect pests, but it cannot be eaten alive either.. Now we felt the need to go to the hotel and rest. Tomorrow we are going to the Great Wall of China.
SYMBOL OF CHINA THE WALL OF CHINA
Chinese pronunciation is changcheng. The foundation of the Great Wall of China was laid by 20 different kingdoms and is the largest military defense project.. The Great Wall of China, one of the 7 Wonders of the World, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1986. With the destroyed parts of the Great Wall, its length reaches 6000 kilometers.. One should not believe the stories that it was built to protect from the Turks and that it is the only structure that can be seen from space.. Over 1,000,000 people were employed in its construction, most of them died during the construction, and the remaining children and grandchildren continued their duties.. The names of many workers are engraved on the stones and it is possible to see them while walking.. They don’t call it Chinese torture for nothing.. Will the life of men be enough for the construction of the wall to be completed.
The Great Wall of China, which is open until 19:00 in summer, is open until 18:00 in winter.. For the Great Wall of China, which costs 40 yuan, or about 7 dollars, it would be a complete idiot to not pay $ 45 for tours.. As we have our breakfast in the morning, we arrive in Badaling after 1 hour by paying 12 yuan for the bus number 919, which is 1 stop away from our hotel on line 13 by metro.. On the way back, we will return with the same bus, but the last bus is at 17:30. The entrance to the Seddin was the day of the parents, and of course, the main reason for this crowd is the hundreds of tourists who come with tours.
Seddin is the most difficult the climbing and dangerous part is Jiankou. Apart from this, there are many more entrances: Badaling – Mutianyu – Juyongguan Pass – Simatai – Jinshanling – Gubeikou – Huanghuacheng – Jiankou – Shuiguan.
We preferred Badaling. The straightest and longest. We get our tickets at the entrance and walk to the Badaling entrance.
The tiring and long climb awaits us.. Without wasting time, we start climbing on the 2700-year-old sed.. There are castles every 200 meters on the Great Wall.. These castles were once where the soldiers rested and hid their weapons.. The weather was sunny but freezing cold. We climbed, we rested, we climbed again, we rested again, we were very tired, we looked, go and go, it doesn’t end, we take our beautiful pictures and now we come back. For those who reach the top, the bench is set up, and t-shirts of the Great Wall of China can be bought here, but we couldn’t go up because we didn’t have to climb any more.
When we returned, bells were ringing in our stomachs.. We’re going to eat that very famous Peking duck tonight.. If you prefer to eat outside of luxury restaurants, it is impossible to find cutlery outside of the chopsticks called kuazi.. We went to one of these and ate Peking duck.. This Chinese course helped me a lot. One day, we had a cooking class with kuazi. Our teacher Chun taught me how to eat it and even told the story of this stick.. Like this; If the stick is eaten by holding it from below, it will go to the husband early, if it is eaten by being held from above, it will go late.. So this stay-at-home thing is not just in our culture
Let’s go to the peking duck that we are looking forward to eating. The duck didn’t come as a duck, of course they slice it and bring it. Every single place was delicious.. When the food has been placed on each table, when the food gets cold, you can put the plate or the dishes served in pot-style containers on it and heat it.. I’ve been to many cities in China, but I wanted to eat Peking Duck in its place.. The advice of the Chinese is “if Peking duck is eaten in Beijing, it should not be eaten anywhere else.”. Yahu, some people who have traveled all this way and come here are in the prejudice of not eating the food before they taste it.. I really don’t understand what is prejudice without knowing what it is like without tasting it.
TIANANMEN SQUARE AND THE FORGIVEN CITY
We go to Tiananmen Square by subway in the morning. The founder of the People’s Republic of China, Mao Zedong founded the People’s Republic of China with the statement he made on October 1, 1949 in Tiananmen Square.. Tiananmen square has a width of 800 meters from north to south, 500 meters from east to west, with a total width of 440,000 square meters, and is the largest city square in the world, right in the heart of Beijing.
It is in Tiananmen square in the Forbidden City. The dragon statue erected at the entrance of the gate represents the symbol of the king’s presence.. There is a picture of the emperor Mao Zedong on the wall of the palace. Chinese writings on the right and left mean the following; Long live the People’s Republic of China on the right and the text on the left means the Peoples of the World Live Together. Its construction was completed between 1406 and 1420, and there are 8,707 rooms and 980 buildings on an area of 720,000 square meters.
Another discourse is large and small palaces, pavilions, towers, etc. in the palace. with a total of 9999.5 rooms. Since the number 10.000 symbolizes infinity, it is proof that it belongs to this world, and although it is said that there are so many rooms as the closest number to 10.000, this is nothing but a legend.
its walls were 10 meters high. As soon as we enter the palace, the first thing that catches our attention is its red walls and golden yellow roofs.. At that time, the color of the roof of other buildings, except the palace, was forbidden to yellow, but this prohibition is now out of practice.. We said all the roofs are yellow, except for one building, this is the library building, but the roof color here is black.. The roofs are yellow because the yellow color represents the central location and because the imperial palace was the center of the world at that time.
We get our tickets from the box office before we reach the Meridian gate and go through the x-ray device.. We do not enter the buildings in the forbidden city, we are content to look inside from the back of the set in front of the door.. It is impossible to visit this place in 1 day, we tried to visit many places, if not all, until the evening.. It is useful to wear comfortable clothes and your most comfortable shoes.
We admired the animal figures and stone carvings wall decorations that we saw inside and outside the buildings.
We can see the river surrounding the forbidden city at the end of the tour when we exit the gate. Right across from here, if you take time to go to Jingshan Park, you can both relax and watch the Forbidden City panoramic.
Transport
You can get off at tiananmexi or tiananmendong stops by metro, or you can get here by bus number 101, 103, 109, 124, 202, 685 passing through the forbidden city stop, and get off at Gugong stop.
Fee
40 yuan from November 1 to March 31, 60 yuan from April 1 to October 31.
YONG HE GONG – LAMA TEMPLE “PALACE OF PEACE AND HARMONY”
The 17th century architectural structure is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery .2 by subway. Or we got off at the Yong He Gong stop on the .5 line and after a short walk we arrived at the temple surrounded by greenery.
In Buddhism, as in other religions, namely the Qur’an sent to Muslims, Since there was no book like the Bible sent to the Christians and the Torah sent to the Jews, they started to practice their own beliefs by following the path of Buddha Siddhartha Gautama. Siddhartha Gautama is considered the founder of Buddhism. Buddhism is characterized as a philosophical view rather than a religion.. After this brief information, we set out to tour the Lama temple.. This place is nothing like a small palace.. Our guess is correct, the reason why it was made during the 3rd quarter of the Qing Dynasty. It was built for the residence of Emperor Yongzheng before he ascended the throne, and later turned into a temple in 1744.. Everyone is busy in worship.. First the incense is burned, then the hands are joined and bowed to show respect.. At the end of their worship, the burning incense in their hands is thrown into the big cauldron in front of the temple.. We toured, dusted, prayed, and now we can go back to the hotel.
We have to get up early in the morning. We got up early in the morning in case something went wrong because we were going to the fair.. As I said, we had a problem with the address, but I don’t remember exactly what it was, did I write the wrong address, I thought it was the wrong fairground, I don’t know anymore. I immediately called the Fair from a phone booth to get the address, but come and understand if you can understand.. We ran into a young girl right in front of 7 Eleven, at least I thought I’d ask this.. Doesn’t the girl speak English? I started to tell her my problem with my little Chinese.. The girl called the fair from my phone card and got the address again, and as if it wasn’t enough, she even took us to the bus station.. Well, I never expected that I could speak Chinese so well.. By the way, the girl was a cashier at 7 eleven.. When we stopped by her in the evening and went to give her flowers as a thank you, we learned that the girl’s work was already over, and the flower was left in our hands.. We were at the fair every day for 4 days.
We went to Wangfujing for shopping on our last day. At the end of the street in St.. After visiting the St. Joseph Catholic Church, we wanted to buy tea while we were all the way to China.. Tea shops are no different from jewelery shops.. There are special areas for sitting and trying all kinds of tea inside.. Drink it, drink this, which one we drank, which one we liked, they all mixed together. Finally we got jasmine in the form of seeds and jasmine in flower and left here. While returning to the hotel to collect our luggage, I was very interested in the crowd in the subway.
5 in the list of the most crowded cities in the world.. It is impossible to see this crowd on the streets of Beijing, which is in the queue, and the only place you can see the crowd is the subway stops.
Although we had to go to Beijing for the Fair, we spent our free days at the best place to visit. I believe we have made good places. Of course, it is not possible to visit every place in such a short time, but as much as it is now.SummaryArticle Name PekinDescriptionOur Beijing adventure started thanks to the Fair we will attend..
