As you might expect, Greek cuisine is wildly similar to ours.. As a result of this situation, we lost control in Athens so much that we officially ate the worlds even though we didn’t stay for a very long time.. Fortunately, we have a lot of places to suggest to you, because we, as Turkish people, have overlooked how wonderful this cultural sharing is, while we are dealing with silly discussions like you, what does baklava mean, what does cacık mean, what does white cheese mean to you.
If we focus on Athens, as you can understand from what we said above, there is no possibility of starving here and desperately throwing yourself into a doner restaurant that you wouldn’t even bother with while in Turkey.. (We know that traditionalists do this for the sake of being funny) You can even sit in any restaurant, especially if you are not inclined to try new cuisines.. As in many big cities, if you want to eat at good places here, it is useful to make a reservation, because just like us, Greek people love to eat out and sit at elaborate tables.. (Yes, we love them a lot!)
Note from the beginning: If you want to have what you eat and drink and tell about what you see, Athens Food and Drink Guideto our Athens travel guide You can also look at it.
Before we get into the guide completely, let’s leave a few words that are similar to Greek-Turkish about food, we used them a lot there and for some reason we were very pleased with this situation. , maybe you can try it too;
-Baklava/Baklavas
-Pepper/Piperi
-Börek/Boureki
-Calamari/Calamari
– Sea Bream/Tsipoura (from the pronunciation)
-Tomato/Ntomates
-Beans/Fasolia
-Lobster/Astakos
-Lemon/Lemoni
-Pickles/Toursi
-Watermelon/Karpouzi
This list goes on and on, I think we would almost speak the same language. Isn’t it easier to order now? We love this culture sharing business!
Six D.O.G.S
A very local bar that made us love the city from the first night we set foot in Athens.. You can go for snacks and all kinds of cocktails.. Pretty shabby place. If you don’t explore his backyard, you can treat us like a stupid hipster who thinks every bohemian place is different and is fascinated by every shabby place.. Especially if you come on the weekend, you will see a young crowd spread out along the street.
-You can try Rosemary Martini, Ferdinand Ambel Allle, Safety Harbor and Cocoliche cocktails, guaranty.
-Cocktails 9 Euro
-Address: Avramitou 6-8
Kostas
Kostas = Best Souvlaki place in Athens. What is Souvlaki? The most delicious burritos-like snack in Greece. Let’s put it this way, if you lived in Athens, you would most likely eat Souvlaki instead of tantuni after going out for the night.. Kostas, on the other hand, is a small venue with a large function.. As far as we know, they have opened their second branch as well, but listen to us, go to the tiny kiosk version at the address we wrote below.
-Your chance of encountering them in order is very high, don’t give up!
-Address: Plateia Agia Irini 2
Rififi
Our favorite restaurant in Rififi Exarchia. Since we went with the local recommendation, we were programmed to love it anyway, but it stole our hearts because they brought different interpretations to traditional Greek dishes and they did it in a wonderful way.. They said that the menu is updated from time to time and that they add and remove different options, but since we liked all five of the five flavors we tried, we think you might find something that appeals to you.
-Try Moscow sweet wine.
3 people, 5 course meal (we said we ate a lot) and wine cost 40 euro.
-Address: Emmanouil Mpenaki
Oineas
When we caught sight of Oineas as we were wandering the streets and sensed its potential to be full for the evening, we made a sudden reservation.. Good thing we had it done because it was so full and it was definitely the best dinner we had in Athens.. What did we eat? If we say that we have established an “ouzo table” rather than a raki table, it would be a very appropriate explanation.. All kinds of delicious appetizers (such as fava, tzatziki, stuffed kadayif with cheese), octopus, calamari, shrimp, whatever you could look for.. Moreover, we spent our hours there with the sweet Greek music in the background, the sounds of laughter around us, and the conversation of red British tourists trying to understand what we were eating when they set the table very confidently and thought we were local.. Moreover, when the owner of the place, the sweetest woman of the world, realized that we are Turkish, we can tell the names of the dishes with their original names and we can understand most of them due to their similarity with Turkish, and when we come to the point of “Come to Turkey, I will not let you live”, we started to sympathize with them.. In summary, without having to tell us more about the moment, go!

Art Foundation
Art Foundation It’s actually a hard place to find, even though it’s in the heart of the city.. You look at the photos on the internet, it is a spacious, inn-like place with a large courtyard.. However, you go to the address, you fall in the middle of narrow streets, crowded and many shops.. As such, you may even have the chance to give up, but wait, don’t give up! This is both an exhibition space and a cafe located in a very interesting place.. We think it’s a place to go, not for your food or drink (which has an award-winning coffee), but for the environment and the place.. It can be very enjoyable to visit an exhibition you came across at that time with your iced coffee in hand.
-The only downside is that the ventilation system is bad.. For this reason, it can have a greenhouse effect, especially in summer.. We hope they have solved that problem when you go.
-If you still can’t find the place after going to the street inside the flea market, the address of which is given below, try to see the small and dysfunctional sign.. Then go down the stairs in the building where you see the sign. Congratulations. you made it. (Perhaps the lousy sign has changed)

Mama Roux
Mama Roux’ a you can go for breakfast or lunch. Since we were in the vicinity, we went for breakfast and again we encountered options such as eggs benedict, bagel, scrambled eggs.. It would be an exaggeration to say that the breakfast was very scrumptious, but we did not encounter any negativity.. You can go to try an alternative place.. They also said that they offer a more successful brunch menu if you’re there on Sunday, maybe that way it could be a more satisfying breakfast.
-Don’t take a photo of the umbrellas in the place, they’re everywhere, it’s not interesting, we’ll find you and get angry…
-Weekday breakfast menu is 7.5 Euros.

Black Duck Garden
If you like small and green inner gardens where you can get away from the city crowd, you have come to the right place.. Black Duck Garden is a business owned by the Athens City Museum and it is a very peaceful place if you happen to come across one of the events in the vicinity and don’t cut your ears from the noise like Van Gogh.. Their employees are extremely friendly and they have options such as breakfast, lunch and dinner.. We took a small coffee & dessert break here and left the place by maximizing our level of peace.. In summary, you would love it, sir.
Momix
After returning to Istanbul Momix is one of the bars with the most creative concept we have discovered so far.. Momix stands for “Molecular Mixology”. Therefore, everything you drink in the place seems to be made in the name of science, an important part of an experimental process, and it looks so interesting that instead of talking to each other, you are locked in watching the cocktails made by the bartenders and the forms the drinks can take in a trance.. If you go out at night, we are sure that you will go to Gazi, one of the most popular areas of Athens in terms of nightlife.. If you miss Momix while you’re here, you’ll regret it.
-Address: Kaleou 1. If you walk towards here from the center where the bars are located, “are we going to have kidneys stolen?” you can carry the thought, don’t be afraid, walk, cross from the gas station (see how friendly it is), continue along the street, it will come across you.
Brettos
If you’ve betrayed us by researching other sources, you’ve probably seen Brettos.. It can be described as a small traditional bar, one of the oldest in the Plaka area.. As you can see from its decoration, since it is a place that stands out especially with its liquors, we tried a few from over 40 options and our experience resulted in bringing liqueurs home in bottles.. Especially don’t miss the ones with gum and melon, they are incredibly delicious!

Agias Eirinis Square
This square and its surroundings , can be thought of as a small Karaköy simulation in Athens, so we didn’t want to limit you by suggesting a single venue.. This place has become one of the most popular areas of Athens, where especially the young people flock to, where you can encounter such a serious crowd that you will have difficulty finding a place from morning to evening on weekends.. Especially if you want a venue suggestion, Osterman and Rock & Balls are places where we randomly sit and have a drink. In both, you can have a snack, a cocktail or a coffee, the aim at this point is to make the region lively and lively, rather than your choice of venue.
Giasemi
When we got a few suggestions about Giasemi, we decided to go and try it since it’s pleasant enough to sit anywhere around Anafiotika anyway.. When we learned that “frappe” originated in Greece and that Giasemi had frappe, we tried it there for the first time.. I don’t know if the frappe is one of the flavors we’re used to, it was downright bad! However, since the street where Giasemi is located and a few streets in parallel are made up of small cafes built on steps, it is a pleasure to sit in any cafe in this vicinity.. However, if you try “Greek Coffee” instead of Frappe, you will be happier.. (Yes, of course, almost the same as Turkish coffee)
