Bali’s ability to appeal to all kinds of tourists with different expectations stems from the diversity it offers in terms of sea-sun, natural beauties, culture and food.. Since I stayed in 4 different hotels during my Bali holiday and researched a lot beforehand, I will try to explain in this article which parts of the island are suitable for each holiday concept, what should be considered and which hotels for different budgets can be stayed in.. Thus, I will try to help Where to stay in Bali and share Bali hotel recommendations.
Honeymoon Hotels in Bali: Nusa Dua Area
First of all, let’s start as a romantic honeymoon. Couples on the eve of marriage who want to spend their honeymoon in Bali mostly stay in Nusa Dua when they arrange a Bali holiday by making agreements with companies that offer personalized tour packages.. Since the hotels here are 4 and 5 star luxury hotels, we can say that they are suitable for couples who want every detail to be perfect during their honeymoon.. Well, we can say that the price of such a holiday will be high.
When you stay in Nusa Dua, you can stay calm. You can spend a holiday and visit the center of the island, Ubud, with day tours, these day tours will most likely be included in your package program.. If you want to swim in the sea instead of being satisfied with the pool (which I think you should), you should choose a hotel close to Nusa Dua beach or at least with a regular service to the beach.. You can review the following hotels close to the beach:
- Conrad Bali (5 stars)
- The Royal Santrian (5 stars)
- INAYA Putri Bali (5 stars)
You can compare the prices of the hotels in the category offered by the tour program (such as 4 stars, 5 stars) and the prices of the hotels above, and whether it is more convenient to buy separately or as a package, after adding the flight tickets and daily tours included in the program.. For this comparison, consider the price of full-day tours as $50 per car and $30 for half-day tours.
Let’s say you are not a package tour tourist, you want to arrange everything yourself. Then you may need to stay in more than one hotel like me, I stayed in Seminyak for 2 nights and Ubud for 4 nights.
In Bali, except Nusa Dua, Kuta and Seminyak regions are primarily sea -The sun welcomes tourists who have come for a holiday, unlike Nusa Dua, there are more affordable accommodation options in these areas.
Where to Stay in Bali: Kuta & Legian Hotels
Kuta and Legian right next to it Its regions are famous for its wavy sea, and there are surfers of all nationalities, especially Australians, on the beaches here.. They also provide training for those who say, ‘I’ve never tried surfing, but it’s okay if I learn’. Wouldn’t it be cool to come back from Bali vacation having learned how to surf?
- Citadines Kuta Beach Bali (4 stars)
- Vasanti Kuta Hotel ( 4 stars)
- Grandmas Plus Hotel Legian (3 stars): I went to the spa center of this hotel for a massage because I read that it was good, I visited the hotel while I was there, although it was affordable They made the rooms so cute.. The massage was very nice and clean, by the way, you can stop by for a massage even if you are not at the hotel.. The price is also very affordable, one hour Bali massage costs around 7 – 8 dollars.
- Beach Melati Apartments (2 stars)
- Local Bali Hostel (Hostel)
Bali Hotels: Seminyak Area
Seminyak district is half an hour walk from Kuta, this place is known to be cooler. The sea is calmer, alternatives such as beach club are more common.. Especially those who come with a group of friends or those who want to walk a little, do some shopping, buy a drink and hang out after the sea time has passed, may consider Seminyak hotels.. So it is not necessary, as I said, they are close to each other with Kuta.. If you find a hotel you feel comfortable in, you can keep it.
- Double – Six, Luxury Hotel Seminyak (5 stars)
- The Breezes Bali Resort & Spa (4 stars)
- Grandmas Plus Hotel Seminyak (3 stars): I stayed at this hotel, price – I can say that it is a very good choice in terms of performance.. The hotel has a restaurant, massage parlor and even a small pool.. They also provide guests with free bicycles.. I think it will meet the needs of those who are looking for a cheap hotel close to the beach in Bali.
If you go to Bali in the rainy season, considering that the beaches of Kuta and Seminyak will be dirty, I recommend you to choose hotels with pool alternatives.. Let’s add when is the rainy season; period from October to March. I went in February, there were people on the beach, but the general view of the beach was far from the ‘white beach and the deep blue sea like a bed sheet’ in our minds.
Bali Hotels: Ubud Area
Come to the famous Ubud area. Since Ubud is located in the center of Bali, it will save time for daily tours to other parts of the island. If you want to arrange the day tours when you go to Bali, you will see that the prices of those departing from Ubud and returning are more affordable.
Ubud is the place that makes Bali Bali for me. I wouldn’t go to. That’s why you should stay in Ubud hotels or at least visit Ubud and its surroundings with daily tours.
I think that the minimum time you need to stay in Ubud is 4-5 nights, Bali less time will not be enough for places to visit. If you want to stay in a hotel with a pool in Ubud and do something to hang out at the hotel from time to time, you can increase the time to around a week, I think a vacation plan like this will be the most ideal.
The most famous hotels in Ubud:
- Hanging Gardens of Bali (5 stars)
- Viceroy Bali (5 stars)
You can see pictures of both hotels in their Bali promos they look really cool. The first one is not exactly in Ubud, it is called Payangan, but here is the surroundings of Ubud, I think it is more famous.. If the price is right for you, you can stay directly in one of these two hotels.
If you’re out of budget, like me, you can take a look at the hotels below.. In my opinion, an infinity pool (infinity pool) at a hotel in Ubud, overlooking the lush nature, should not be skipped on Bali vacation as it is a difficult detail to find in hotels elsewhere.
- Goya Boutique Resort (4 stars)
- Alila Ubud (4 stars)
- Pertiwi Bisma 1 (3 stars): I stayed here and I liked the hotel very much, the view of the pool was just as I imagined. As soon as I put my picture in the pool of this hotel on the lifeveseyahat instagram page, messages asking for the name of the hotel poured in The proximity of the location to the center of Ubud and the Monkey Forest, the size of the rooms (we can call it a house), the fact that the bed has a mosquito net (actually, I did not see any mosquitoes, but they did it just in case) and breakfast was good for its price. When I checked, it was around 200 TL per night. Even if it changes according to the season, it will probably be more affordable than the above.
Still not an option suitable for your budget? Then you are looking for an accommodation concept that we can call affordable backpacker hotels.. Fortunately, Ubud also has a lot of cheap hotels with this concept
Cheap Hotels in Bali
I think the most important thing for backpacker hotels is a central location. location; because you will go out frequently in this type of hotel rather than the hotels that already have many things you are looking for as above.. We can give Ubud Palace (Ubud Palace) and Ubud Market (Ubud Market) as a reference point for those who say where it should be close when they say the center, a hotel close to these will make your job easier.
Also, it is very important for Ubud that the hotel building is new and the doors and windows are smooth. detail; Since everywhere is green, you may not be comfortable with mosquitoes in an old building or a hotel with ajar doors and windows.. I had rented a traditional Balinese-style guesthouse with a pointed roof so that the building would be an interesting and local experience. As I said, I did not pay attention to the details about the fly-insect, so I spent a very uncomfortable night in that heat wearing long sleeved pajamas, tucked my trousers into my socks and pulling the duvet over my head O Therefore, it is useful to carefully examine the pictures of the hotel you like with this eye.
The following looks good:
- Sumantra House Ubud (3 stars)
- Igna Bungalows (2 stars)
- Buana Home Stay (Guesthouse): I stayed here and loved it. The location is very central, mosquito-insect protection is sufficient (at night, the attendant comes and closes the mosquito nets on the balcony in front of the rooms, they even thought of it), tea – coffee facilities, pool.. Also wifi was fine. The rest were young backpackers; There may even be an opportunity to make new friends for those traveling with a young couple or group of friends.. There is a laundry right next to the hotel, probably because it is one of the general backpacker customers, it was very useful for me when I needed it.. A good option for those who are looking for a cheap clean hotel in the center of Bali.
Of course, accommodation opportunities in Bali are not limited to the Nusa Dua, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and Ubud regions that I count; but as a starting point about Where to stay in Bali, you can review the hotels I gave as examples in my article.. Let’s also make our general reminder; The Bali hotel recommendations in the article are advisory only and the final decision is yours, then don’t hold me responsible for your choice
Hiring a Chauffeur-driven Car in Bali
Finally, I can share the information of my driver to accompany you on daily tours, please only after buying a ticket (ie when your trip is finalized) message me on Hayat ve Seyahat facebook page with your dates. The price is 50 dollars per car, the car can take a maximum of 5 people, gas and parking fees belong to the driver, you do not pay for the food.. Tour duration is 10 hours maximum, 30 dollars if you want a half-day tour. You pay cash at the end of the day. He accompanied me for 4 full days and I was very satisfied; He added the must see places in Bali that I skipped and gave good local information. Lastly, I’ll say it because it’s going to be asked; Hiring a car in Bali is a pretty bad idea, don’t think about it. Like Sri Lanka, Bali is a place that needs to be visited with a driver because of the reverse flow of traffic, the distances are far from each other, the roads are narrow and crowded. Everyone does it anyway.
Bali If you have other unclear questions about organizing your vacation, I recommend you read my article HOW TO PLAN A TRIP TO BALI.
