Before we saw the plateaus in Yalova, the only thing that came to mind about this place was its hot springs.. However, after camping in this region and visiting the plateaus in Yalova, and especially after seeing the Delmece Plateau, we realized that we got to know Yalova very wrong.
Now, when you look at the map, one becomes suspicious; I wonder what kind of place Delmece Plateau is, if it’s not worth it, is the road good? and similar questions come to mind.. Therefore, without going into details, let’s say that Delmece Plateau is a typical plateau.. It is a pristine highland with a pasture where animals graze, with makeshift houses, where people can escape from the heat with the cool air that will make you look for your cardigan in August.

Delmece Plateau Nature Park
This nature park, whose sign you will see just ahead of the houses, has a very large area.. It’s a nice place for camping and daily activities, but it is said to be leased to a private company for 49 years in 2021.. In fact, the gate of the nature park was closed for a while, but because there was no security, people opened a new entrance from the side by twisting the wires and anyone could enter from here.. It is said that the company that leases the Delmece Plateau Nature Park will build a camping area, caravan park, parking lot, bungalow etc.. However, we do not know when or if it will be done, they may even set out to erect concrete buildings as a campground.
As you can see, if you want to see Delmece Plateau without being spoiled, we say hurry up.
Delmece Plateau Camping. Area
When the highland is mentioned, some people think of picnics, some people think of restaurants with a view, but is it possible to camp in Delmece Highland first? the question came. When we went and saw it, we saw that it was a very suitable place for camping.. If you are looking for a paid camping area alone, let’s say from the beginning, there is no such luck here.. For this, you can check out Erikli Waterfall Campground.. Delmece Plateau is a place where you can camp more with nature.. The area is large and you can find very suitable places where you can set up a tent or park a caravan.. Just be careful not to enter the place where the animals graze, there is already a warning sign.
There is no place where you can shop on the plateau.. There is a place where you can only buy village bread and the bread is really good. You can also find butter and goat cheese.. When we find the hot bread and butter duo, we are not looking for much.
There is no shortage of drinking water, there is a fountain you can use.. It is even said that its water is healing, but we do not know how healing it is.. We are not looking for healing water anyway, it is enough for us that it saves the campers the trouble of carrying water..
There is a makeshift toilet, but the water does not flow and is not very usable. The people living in the highland are helpful in all matters as well as in the toilet, if you ask permission from the observers to use their toilets, they do not have a problem.. In such a case, if you go 4-5 km towards Selimiye village, all operators catch the network, albeit slightly.
How to Go to Delmece Plateau?
Teşvikiye village or Gemlik near the center of Yalova You can reach Delmece Plateau via Selimiye village on the. The best way is to come back from whichever direction you came from.. We were coming from Istanbul, we had camped in Kurtköy, and from here we were going to descend towards the Aegean.. We started in Teşvikiye village and came to Delmece Plateau after seeing Erikli Waterfall and Bottomless Lake, respectively.. Then we descended through the wind turbines to Selimiye Village and from there we went up to Gemlik.. The road is very pleasant, but you have to determine your route before you go, if you think that we can go and check it because the phone does not pick up, you may have trouble.
We share the distance between Delmece Plateau and some important points below.. Depending on the distance, the times may be a little longer, but it takes a little longer than it should because some parts of the road are bad.
Istanbul – Delmece Plateau is 135 km and if you use the Osmangazi bridge, it takes around 2.5 hours.. If you use the İzmir highway and come over Gemlik, the road gets longer, but the time gets shorter.. However, it takes a maximum of 15 minutes, so if you ask us, the road to Çınarcık via Yalova and from there to Delmece Highland via Teşvikiye village is much more enjoyable.
Yalova center – Delmece Highland 40 km but it takes more than 1 hour. Although the road is not extremely bad, it is winding and not a road where you can go very fast.
Bursa – Delmece Plateau is 65 km and takes less than 1.5 hours.. You can reach Delmece Plateau by coming from Gemlik and passing the villages of Büyükkumla, Narlı and Selimiye.
